1 DAKAR 2018 FUEL ORDER T3.2 / T3.0 and SxS (A.S.O. rules) Dear competitors, For the 2018 Dakar, you must place a fuel order for the points put in place by the organization (on the motorcycle refuelling points) in accordance with the new A.S.O. regulations for the T3.2, T3.0 and SxS refuelling (article 31P6.4). Only one general order must be made for the entire rally and must be returned by NOVEMBER 27, 2017 INFORMATION and Q&A: What does the cost per litre include? The fuel Its transportation and supply in the stages by a fuel truck. The provision of fuel drums after the departure of the technicians for night-time refuelling. Refuelling carried out by a specialized technician. What happens if I reach a fuel point after the departure of the technicians in charge of refuelling? The technicians will be present in the refuelling zones late into the evening (between midnight and 1am depending on the special stages). After this time, refuelling will be done by the competitor, with the help of a standard issue pump (automatic or manual) (See article 31P6.4) How many refuelling zones will there be in the middle of the special stage? The majority of the refuelling zones will be located at the start, in neutralization or at the arrival of the special stages. Only 7 refuelling zones will be in the middle of the special stage. A total of 27 refuelling zones will be put in place by the rally organizers. What happens if I retire during the rally? Only one general fuel order is to be made. Each week of the race (week one before the rest day/ week two after the rest day) is due. However, in the case of a retirement during the first week of the rally, the second week will be reimbursed in its entirety.

Payment of the fuel will be the responsibility of the competitor and is therefore not included in the fuel order below. 4 REMINDERS ABOUT THE REGULATIONS From the Car / Truck SxS Provisional Regulations (Article 31P6 FUEL - AUTONOMY - REFUELLING) 2) Autonomy All Vehicles must have a minimum range of 800km, except for Vehicles in the SxS Group (article 9P2-5) that must have a minimum range of 250km. Each crew will be responsible for calculating the range of its vehicle. In no circumstance will the crew be able to plead its case with the Organizer if its vehicle cannot cover the minimum distance of 800km (or 250km), no matter the nature of the terrain. For security reasons, a range of at least an additional 10% is essential. 4) Refuelling in a Special Stage for the T3.2, T3 Group Open and SxS Group Refuelling is solely the responsibility of the crew. Every refuelling in a Special Stage shall be subject to a Neutralization period of 15 minutes as stipulated by the Organizer. Refuelling must be made with the engine turned off. Each refuelling will be preceded by a Neutralization zone. After giving their check-in card, each Crew will have to drive their vehicle to a refuelling truck and/or to the drums. The fuel will be distributed in the arrival order to the Neutralization zone. After refuelling, the Crew will head to the Neutralization control, recover its check-in card and will receive a new start time at the end of the fixed 15 minutes Neutralization period. In the event that the Neutralization control and the fuel distribution point managed by the Organizer are closed (after scheduled time limit): - The Crew will have to be able to refuel on its own, with the help of a refuelling kit that it must have on-board its vehicle (Example: a manual or 12-volt electric pump and adapted piping allowing for refuelling from the vehicle) and that will permit refuelling from the drums left by the Organizer. - A 15-minute period of time will be applied upon arrival at the Bivouac at the end of each Stage. During refuelling, the Crew will be able to visualize on the UNIK GPS, the 15 minutes in question. The Team will not be allowed to leave the Neutralization zone until the time has expired.

5 HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH PETROL/GASOLINE Fire, explosion, burns, asphyxia: Petrol/gasoline is an extremely flammable substance that ignites under the action of a source of heat (sparks, flames, and so on). Petrol/gasoline vapour constitutes an explosion hazard. It can form explosive mixtures, spread towards a source of heat, and cause a flashback. In the event of a fire o Remove as much of the product as possible from contact with the source of heat (drums, jerry-cans, vehicle, motorbike). o Tackle the fire using sand, a fire blanket, etc. o Tackle the fire using an extinguisher. These are suitable for tackling a fire in its early stages, directing the jet at the base of the flames. o Types of extinguisher: - powder: for electrical fires and those involving fuel, paper, tyres, oil; - CO: for electrical fires and those involving fuel, tyres, oil; - water + wetting agent: for fires involving paper, fuel, grass, tyres. what to do o If it is impossible to fight the fire, withdraw and leave it to burn out. o Position yourself upwind. o In the event of a fire on a vehicle or truck, park it away from any inhabited area. o If the tank, drum or jerry-can changes colour during a fire, leave the area at once. o Always keep away from the ends of bulk fuel tanks (explosion hazard). In the event of a leak or spillage o Remove any sources of ignition (cigarette, road flares, sparks, flames, cooking appliances) from the vicinity. Watch out for static electricity! what to do o If there is no risk, stop the leak (wooden bung, pinch off the pipe). o Soak up or cover the leak with earth, sand. o Transfer the contents into other containers. Take care with empty fuel drums if they are to be transported: fill with water leave cap open. Precautions during refuelling o Use appropriate protective clothing: overalls, gloves, goggles. o If fuel gets onto the body, rinse off copiously with water. o Fire-extinguisher within reach, shovel, fire-blanket. o During fuel transfer, do not smoke or use cooking appliances. o Do not sleep on the stored fuel: danger of asphyxia danger of explosion. o Damp down the storage area to avoid static electricity. HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH HOT WORKING Fire, explosion, burns, asphyxia Persons carrying out welding, grinding, cutting, or oxyacetylene cutting must remain alert at all times to the risks involved. Flames or sparks can subject materials surrounding the work area to temperatures of C. Good practices for safe working o Clear away the area around the work area, keeping combustible materials at least 10 m away. Take care with solvent or degreasent containers, spray cans, or stored fuel. o Check that the tools used are in perfect working order. o Prepare or keep readily accessible appropriate firefighting equipment (extinguishers and so on). o Clean up work areas regularly to prevent fire propagating insidiously. Before undertaking hot work on a container or tank that previously contained flammable substances, ensure it is completely emptied and degassed by filling with water, and ventilate liberally during the work.
