5 THE COMPANY The world of Argo Tractors Argo Tractors is a company of the Argo Group established in 2006 with the intention of creating a global tractor manufacturing hub. With tractors manufactured and marketed under the Landini, McCormick and Valpadana brands, Argo Tractors is today one of the western world s leading players. True to the philosophy of the Argo Group, Argo Tractors s activities are based on a close integration of the manufacturing and marketing strategies which links in a univocal and linear manner the various business functions: sales, R&D, engineering, purchasing, logistics, pre- and after-sales service. The production is based on the synergy between four plants, each of which dedicated to a specific product line, and two after-sales service centres based in Italy and France. The R&D and engineering divisions are located at the main headquarters in Fabbrico (Reggio Emilia). All factory areas are equipped with quality control facilities designed to ensure qualitative excellence at all stages of the production process. THE PLANTS Argo Tractors manufactures its products in four locations in Italy. All tractor ranges of the Landini, McCormick and Valpadana brands are produced at the plants in Fabbrico, San Martino in Rio and Luzzara, in the province of Reggio Emilia. In addition to these production facilities, Argo Tractors also boasts a modern and efficient spare parts centre in San Martino in Rio, which distributes Landini and Valpadana parts in Italy and abroad, and a McCormick world-wide parts distribution centre in France. Argo Tractors is present throughout the world with eight branch offices and 130 foreign importers. In Italy, the Argo Tractors products are distributed throughout the country through a network of 200 dealers, which provide a competent and professional support. 7 THE HISTORY Giovanni Landini had a dream: to change farming forever relying on the power of machines. Supported by the strength of his convictions, he realised his dream in 1884 when he founded the Landini company. Landini s long history is marked by continued innovation in design and production process, based on a strong commitment in terms of economic and human resources. 8 The new Tier 4 Interim 7 Series by Landini stands for innovation. Designed with uncompromising comfort, performance and productivity in mind, this tractor range is tailored to meet the needs of the most demanding customers, allowing operators to handle the toughest jobs with ease, whether in the field or on the road. The four models in the range are powered by the new F.P.T. NEF 6 CYL CR TAA 24-valve, six-cylinder turbo engines with common rail injection system. Featuring the Dual Power system to provide additional power for road and PTO applications, these engines deliver plenty of torque making for high flexibility and pulling power. They are located within a rugged chassis which helps reduce noise and vibration levels within the cab and meet Tier 4 Interim emission regulations using the SCR system, an exhaust gas aftertreatment technology that reduces exhaust emission without compromising engine performance. The Roboshift transmission with 24 speeds in six ranges offers a four-speed on-the-go powershift and incorporates electro-hydraulic range shifting and a left-hand steering-column power shuttle. The transmission is controlled electronically via pushbuttons located on the multi-function joystick controller and features an Autoshift function, ensuring easier operation in the field or during transport. A creep speed unit is available as standard to provide 40 forward and 40 reverse speeds. The electrohydraulically engaged rear PTO features an exchangeable shaft providing 6 or 21 splines and offers four speeds 540/540E/1000/1000E rpm. The electronic control of the PTO always ensures smooth and modulated implement start-up, thereby enhancing operator comfort and reducing maintenance needs. All four models feature as standard a closed-centre hydraulic system with up to seven electro-hydraulic remote valves and a variable-displacement pump with a flow rate of 123 l/min, while the ACTIVE version has an open-centre hydraulic system with up to six mechanical remote valves and a flow rate of 88 l/min. The electronically-controlled rear hitch with draft sensing on the lower links provides a maximum lift capacity of 9300 Kg and allows a precise control of the implement. A radar sensor is also available for operations where true ground speed is required, this can also be used in difficult ground conditions to improve tractive performance and reduce wheel slip. True versatility can be obtained with a front hitch capable of lifting up to 3500 Kg and a front PTO. The front axle, either rigid-mounted or with electronically-controlled independent suspensions, offers a 55 steering angle, providing excellent manoeuvrability in confined spaces. 10 The new 6 T4i Series was created with the aim of relaunching Landini s historic brand in the 140 to 180hp power segment with a modern, functional and comfortable tractor, capable of surprising even the most discerning farmer. The 6 T41 tractor differs from its bigger brother, the 7 T4i, with a shorter wheelbase and self-supporting engine. The three models in the range are powered by the F.P.T. NEF 4 CYL CR TAA 16-valve, four-cylinder turbo engines with common rail injection system. These engines deliver plenty of torque making for high flexibility and pulling power and meet Tier 4 Interim emission regulations using the SCR system, an exhaust gas after-treatment technology now almost universally adopted by engine manufacturers for controlling NOx emissions without compromising engine performance. In addition, the model is equipped with the Dual Power system to provide extra power for road and PTO applications. 13 The name V-SHIFT designates the continuously-variable transmission fitted on the Landini 6 and 7 Series. The 6 and 7 V-Shift series comprise three four-cylinder models, the 6-145, and with power ratings of 147, 160 and 176 hp, and two six-cylinder models, the and with 181 and 195 hp. All models in the range feature F.P.T. NEF 4 CYL CR TAA engines equipped with SCR catalytic converter and Dual Power system that meet the Tier 4 Interim emission regulations. The Lounge Cab is a true high-tech lounge that allows the operator to work the tractor with maximum ease and comfort. 15 Developed to replace the popular Landpower range, the 6L Series has been launched on the European market in three models: the 6-145L, 6-160L and 6-175L. 21 Three years after its launch in 2012, the 5H tractor range is now revamped with a newly redesigned cab. Featuring a four-post design with flat-deck platform and rear hinged doors, the new cab provides ease of access to the driver s seat and unequalled all-round visibility. The cab interior is designed with painstaking attention to every detail. All controls are ergonomically-arranged for maximum comfort and ease of operation and the telescopic tilt-adjustable steering column tilts with the instrument panel, allowing the driver to constantly monitor the tractor performance. The air-conditioning system has been improved by relocating the filters into the rear posts for easier cleaning. As a result, the cab roof could be redesigned with a slimmer profile, allowing the tractor overall height to be reduced. 33 The quality of vineyard and orchard growing largely depends on the use of highly specialised machines, designed to meet the requirements of these particular types of crops. For this reason, Landini has developed the Rex series: a range of tractors specifically dedicated to vineyards and orchards, and designed based on suggestions and inputs from farmers. The Rex, in the V version for vineyards and S version for narrow orchards, features extremely compact dimensions with a new rounded hood and folding ROPS to allow maximum manoeuvrability in confined spaces. The steering angle of 55 and the integral braking on all four wheels also make the Rex incredibly easy to handle. 34 Launched to replace the existing Mistral range, the 2 Series are compact nimble tractors ideal for easy manoeuvring in tight spots. The hood and cab roof have been completely redesigned with a modern look matching the new Landini family styling. The 2 Series comes in two models: STD with the choice of either cab or platform, and GE only available in platform version. On the GE model, the design of the front axle and rear final drives allows the driving position to be lowered by 95 mm as compared to the STD version; this results in better performance in tight and low spaces such as overhead trellis vineyards and greenhouses. Fitted with 24-inch rear tyres, the 2 Series tractor has a minimum overall width of 1254 mm and a steering wheel height of only 1218 mm, making them extremely compact vehicles. For an even slimmer profile, the tractor can be optionally equipped with 20-inch rear tyres. The 2 Series features as standard a synchro shuttle transmission with 12 forward and 12 reverse gears. This can be optionally equipped with a creeper providing 16 forward and 16 reverse speeds. All controls are ergonomically arranged on the driver s sides for maximum comfort and ease of operation. The mechanically-operated PTO is available with a choice of either one or two speeds. The hydraulic system provides a flow rate of 48 l/min. The three-point hitch Category I is mechanically operated and can lift up to 1200 kg. The 2 Series tractor can be fitted with up to three simple- and doubleacting remote valves. The GE and STD versions differ in the design of the operator platform. The cab, available only on the STD model, is a four-post design with rear-hinged doors that provides easy access to the driver s position and excellent all-round visibility.
