Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology, Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) technology, and Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) processing equipment mean more control over manufacturing processes and consistent quality of completed components. Laser technology is employed in several ways, including metal cutting equipment where setup time is decreased and speed and accuracy are improved. This superior technology not only makes motor home production more efficient, but also greatly increases product quality. For example, because of CNC routers, measurement tolerance levels on window and door openings in sidewalls are now a mere fraction of a millimeter, providing the highest possible level of fit and finish. We not only manufacture Winnebago, Itasca, Rialta and Ultimate motor homes, but also the majority of their component parts such as furniture, holding tanks, extruded aluminum components for doors and windows, even shower surrounds and bedspreads. This robotic laser cutting machine takes data from the computer aided design (CAD) system and uses that information to cut thick steel with the utmost precision. It s also important to make sure that Winnebago Industries motor homes and their components are tested to ensure they meet the highest quality standards possible. We believe our products undergo the most rigorous quality testing in the RV industry. Our in-house test lab performs continual tests and evaluations of the various components and assemblies we use in the construction of our vehicles both those items we manufacture inhouse and those we receive from our suppliers. We have our own test track and a computerized vehicle road simulator. This allows us to make accelerated durability testing on our vehicles while evaluating the effects of road vibrations on all components.
