2 CCTF LOOKING BACK AND BEYOND CCTF was incorporated in Canada in 1952 as Clyde Tube Forging, a manufacturer of butt weld fittings originally from Scotland. EMCO Limited purchased the company in The new management immediately began broadening its sales base by distributing other complementary industrial piping products in a Master Distributor capacity. Today CCTF is Canada s largest master distributor of industrial piping products. CCTF operates from a national network of three service centres located in Oakville Ontario, Edmonton Alberta, and Delta British Columbia. With over 150,000 square feet of warehouse space and a combined total of 25 acres of outside yard space, CCTF has all of the combined components required by such a master distributor. 15 ZINC PLATING PROCESS Tank 1 Tank 2 Tank 3 Tank 4 Tank 5 Tank 6 THE PROCESS TANK 1 Rust removal by industrial chlorhydric acid and oil removal with lye. TANK 2 Rinsing with water after oil and rust removal. TANK 3 Product is placed in the roller for zinc coating. TANK 4 Second rinse in water. TANK 5 Passivation by chrome acid to produce sealing coat. TANK 6 Finished product is then air dried. WELDING FEATURES As in any welding situation, proper ventilation must be in place so that when welding, any fumes containing impurities are not inhaled. Before welding any C.C.T.F. zinc plated pipe hangers, please check your local Workers Compensation Board welding procedures manual for ventilation requirements 13

16 Q U A L I T Y CCTF is engaged in the supply and distribution of pipe, pipe hangers, fittings, flanges and valves of various types and for a wide range of applications. Many CCTF products are installed by the power generation, petrochemical and process industries for which the governing codes and standards require considerable control, inspection and testing to verify the quality characteristics. 18 STANDARD & COMMERCIAL PIPE HANGERS Pipe hangers offered in this section are designed to support insulated or non- insulated pipe allowing for vertical adjustment and limited movement in the piping system. Material: Carbon steel, malleable iron, 304, and 316 stainless steel are used in the manufacturing of these pipe hangers. Other materials are also available. Finishes: Our standard hangers are supplied with an Electro-Galv. Zinc Coat. Some hangers may be supplied with a standard oil coated finish that is regularly referred to in the industry as BLACK. Other coatings available are hot dipped galvanized, standard Zinc Oxide primer or painted to your specifications. When hot dipped galvanized is ordered standard ZINC plated threaded parts will be supplied unless you request differently. Approvals: Some items in this section are Underwriters Laboratory Listed and Factory Mutual Approved. All other items comply with Manufacturers Standardization Society MSS SP-69.
