2 Roof Units Specification The Flaktwoods Colchester range of roof extract units are designed to satisfy the consultants functional requirement for a direct drive fan unit of guaranteed performance, and the architects need for a very low contour glass fibre reinforced cowl. Construction The cowls are manufactured from laminated fiberglass which offers long life in the severest weather conditions. The colouring contains an ultra violet stabilizer which ensures the cowls will not fade due to sunlight. Standard colourant is light grey. The units are fully assembled, and leave our works in sturdy packaging. This allows quick and easy installation on site. Three methods of mounting, curb for a flat roof, purlin for a sloping roof or wall mounting. The roof cowls are available in weather-proof Side or Vertical discharge depending on the requirement. Side Discharge: The dome-type weather cowl is very low contour and is suitable for lower discharge velocities. Vertical Discharge: The wind shield-type weather cowl is fitted with air-operated aluminium shutters which open to discharge the air at high velocity away from roof level. Motors are totally enclosed and are rated to class F as standard, and are available in 380v/50Hz/3 phase as well as 220v/50Hz/1 phase. Temperature range is -40ºC to +50ºC. Performance Wide performance ranges are obtained by using 3 impeller designs to suit all types of applications. DPI units (for input) performance is reduced by 10% volume flow from DSP figures shown and supplied without shutters. Impellers DSP/DPI/DVP: DSM/DVM: DSA/DVA: Propeller fans are as used in 2101GP fan. Product often used in low pressure applications. For higher pressure development, purpose designed mixed flow impellers are available. Axial flow impellers are used as per JM Aerofoil fans. Size range DSP/DPI/DVP: DSM/DVM: DSA/DVA: 315, 355, 400, 450, 500, 630, and 710mm diameter. 200, 250, 330, 400, 500, 630 and 760mm diameter. 315, 355, 400, 450, 500, 560, 630, 710, 800, 900 and 1000mm diameter. Ancillary Equipment Bird Guards, Soaker Sheets and Acoustic Curbs.
