1 Note: In 2004, USC Aiken administered a custom survey at Freshman Orientation. Many questions are parallel to questions asked on the CIRP Freshman Survey. It is important to note that issues such as question placement, survey administration, and local data processing may all impact response quality. Data provided here should be interpreted in the context of data from other years, and variation should be viewed with extreme caution. Based on our experience with this survey, we do not recommendtrying to substitute the nationally benchmarked and normed CIRP Freshman Survey conducted by HERI with a locally developed instrument Frequency Table Month of orientation session Frequency August July Studying/homework Frequency None Less than 1 hour hours hours hours hours hours Over 20 hours Socializing with Friends Frequency None Less than 1 hour hours hours hours hours hours Over 20 hours Talking with teachers outside of class Frequency None Less than 1 hour hours
