The VT has full redundancy, including redundant MCH, Power Modules, as well as redundant Cooling Units (CU) for high availability. The cooling configuration is from botm-p. There is an option for redundant/non-redundant clock per μtca specification. It provides CLK, CLK, and CLK each slot. The CLK option can be configured for the Fabric clock as well as Telecom clock. 2 POWER SUPPLIES The VT has two power module slots in the chassis. AC or DC power modules can be used. COOLING AND TEMPERATURE SENSORS The VT has dual intelligent Cooling Units. This redundancy allows fail-safe operation in case one of the Cooling Units becomes non-operational. The cooling airflow is from botm p. The removable air filter has a switch detect its presence and can be monired for when it needs be replaced. There are a tal of temperature sensors in the chassis that monir the intake and the outtake air temperature throughout the chassis. TELCO ALARM The VT provides Telco alarm functionality alert about any anomaly within the chassis. The Telco Alarm is provide via a Micro DB- as well as LEDs in the rear show any anomaly. The Telco alarm module is built in the chassis, located above the fan tray. FRU INFORMATION AND CARRIER LOCATOR The VT has dual redundant FRU information and Carrier Locars. The Carrier Locar is assigned by mechanical dip switches which are easily accessible. The MCH reads the Locar via its private I C bus. NO ACTIVE COMPONENTS Unlike other μtca chassis in the market, the VT has no active components on its back plane. This allows ease of serviceability. SCORPIONWARE SOFTWARE VadaTech s Scorpionware software can be used access information about the current state of the Shelf or the Carrier, obtain information such as the FRU population, or monir alarms, power management, current sensor values, and the overall health of the Shelf. The software GUI is very powerful, providing a Virtual Carrier and FRU construct for a simple, effective interface.
