Scarification is the process of physically removing accumulated dead plant matter, known as thatch, and moss from a lawn. This is important to provide room for the grass to grow and make sure that nutrients find their way into the soil. Our scarifiers let you do this effortlessly, thus breathing new life into your lawn. The best times to get rid of thatch are the late spring and autumn. Don t let thatch build-up get in the way of a healthier, thicker lawn. Give your grass the water, air and nutrients it needs by using a scarifier to break up the thatch twice a year. Watch Your Garden Grow The lawn should be at least three years old before the first scarification. It s important to begin by mowing the grass as short as possible. An average height of 4 cm is ideal. It s also much easier if the soil is thoroughly dry this will prevent damage to the machine and keep the resulting grooves open.
