2 Advice, Tread Features, & TKPH TIRE PRESSURE ADVICE Monitoring and controlling tire pressure is a key process for avoiding premature failure and for optimizing the life of the tire. Correct fitment of the tire on the rim as well as O-ring and valve connections should also be monitored. We suggest that the tire and rim assembly remain in the workshop and checked for air leakage for 24 hours after being assembled and before fitting it to the vehicle. Dedicated tire maintenance staff should be used for daily pressure checks of running tires to ensure that a high percentage of pressures are always taken, results recorded and are available for management. Do not check in temperatures below -10C (14 F). The final air seal is the valve cap. It is impossible to guarantee air pressure without it. We suggest the use of hexagonal caps that can be locked securely onto the valve. Eurotire representatives can help you understand the advantages of the various Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems that are available. Adjusting hot pressures is not normally recommended because tire and ambient temperature calculations need to be taken into account. Our representatives can provide you with real time hot pressure calculations and hot pressure guidelines. This service can be further extended to conduct full heat studies that will measure the real temperature of the tires. TREAD RUBBER COMPOUNDS Eurotire has developed specific tread rubber compounds to optimize damage resistance and provide longest life in a variety of usage conditions. is an original pattern designed to optimize traction and grip in soft going conditions where mobility is key. Compound Name Description R-4 Higher speed compound with good resistance to heat R-6* Intermediate cut resistant standard compound with good resistance to damage R-8 Cut resistant rock compound for lower cycle speeds and shorter hauls *Denotes Standard Compound TONNE KILOMETER PER HOUR / TKPH TKPH is a calculation to help determine if a tire is suitable for specific mine site conditions. Tire TKPH is calculated and provided by Eurotire. Site TKPH is calculated at the mine site and based on the actual vehicle speeds, loads, and cycle distances. The site TKPH figure can be calculated by multiplying the actual average load by the actual average speed when measured over several cycles during a two to four hour period. Care is needed to confirm that cycle speeds and loads are stable before calculating averages. The average speed will be the cycle distance divided by the time to cover it. Care is needed to confirm that cycle speeds are stable before calculating a shift average. Once the calculations are known, the site TKPH can be compared with the tire TKPH and if necessary adjustments can be made to the payload and/or speed of the truck to adjust site TKPH to help minimize the risk of tire damage. Note: Irrespective of the site TKPH, the actual average cycle speed must not exceed the maximum average speed shown for each tire size. It is important to note that the accuracy of TKPH calculations are dependent on numerous additional factors being correct, including; tire fitment, rim size, load distribution, driving style of the operator, road grades, cambers, haul road curve radii and dynamic load transfer. Therefore, the TKPH calculation alone will not guarantee optimum tire performance and we strongly recommend that a full site study be conducted to assess the relative importance of these individual factors on your operation. Eurotire service engineers can help you to conduct this study and analyze the results. If the maximum ambient temperature, during the year, is higher than 38 C (100 F), an adjustment to the site TKPH figure will need to be made. Your Eurotire representative will be able to make this calculation for you along with the overall site assessment.

The advantages of our radial tire products can be directly attributed to the unique approach taken in our design and development process. A large footprint is combined with material formulations to provide excellent traction characteristics and strong resistance to cuts and damages. This flat footprint also results in greater flotation characteristics in soft floor conditions. Other radial design advantages include heightened steering control in higher speed and winding haul applications as well as a reduction in detrimental heat build-up in long haul applications. The above cold inflation pressures must be set at ambient temperatures, not when the tires are hot. Pressures are based on standard haul truck usage where the maximum running speeds are between 30 to 50 km/hr and operating on round trip cycle distances up to 8 kms. The maximum quoted cold inflation pressure must never be exceeded. When operating at loads above the rated load care should be taken to control average cycle speeds (see TKPH section). Where specific loads and operating conditions are known the recommended tire pressure can be obtained by contacting your Eurotire representative. All cold inflation pressures are calculated based on TRA and ETRTO engineering design guidelines for maximum load capacity of the given tire size and type. 2. Where tires are run under-inflated, over-inflated or over-loaded there will be a resulting loss of tire life which could also lead to partial or total failure of the tire. 3. Important note regarding Over Rated Load and TRA Maximum Allowed Load: Since increased tire loads and inflation pressure might exceed wheel or rim capacity, wheel and rim manufacturers should be consulted. Loader Tire Pressures The above cold inflation pressures are based on standard articulated loader usage here the maximum running speeds are up to 10 km/hr and operating on round trip cycle distances up to 152 m (500 ft). When your specific loads and operating conditions are known we strongly recommend that you contact your Eurotire representative to obtain the best tire pressure advice for your type of machine. Note: Where tires are run under-inflated, over-inflated or over-loaded there will be a resulting loss of tire life which could also lead to partial or total failure of the tire.

4 Bias Ply Eurotire s OTR bias ply tire products represent robust, state-of-the-art technology combined with our unique service and support approach. When you select the correct tire for the right application you save money, improve efficiency and reduce tire related down time. In short haul operations, bias ply tires are an excellent solution to minimizing tire costs. In operating conditions with high accidental damage rates, bias ply tires will provide a better operating cost to performance balance due to lower repair and replacement costs. There are two key factors to attaining full value from OTR tires the first is in correctly matching the tire to the application, the second is ensuring that the tires are properly maintained. Eurotire bias products, when correctly applied and maintained, can provide a better return on investment as compared to other more expensive alternatives.
