3 Xcavator The Bucket Crane from HIAB The Xcavator Bucket Crane from HIAB is purpose built to quickly and efficiently remove excavated material from site. With its advanced features, robust structure and superior performance, it is designed to increase productivity in the civil engineering, construction and utility markets, as well as the grab loader and tipper hire fields. Depending on the model type, the crane can operate with a 650 litre clamshell bucket and can smoothly and safely reach beyond nine metres making it the most user friendly and productive machine in its class. The HIAB also offers many new safety features and the powerful robust design will reduce long term maintenance costs and reduce the costly downtime.

Wear and tear parts are readily accessible and central greasing is available as an option for fast, efficient maintenance and general servicing.

The operation is further supported by the addition of HIAB s well proven chain drive designed to double the extension speed when compared to conventional hydraulic systems. Coolest crane means greater productivity & efficiency The HIAB Xcavator has an oil cooler fitted as standard. It allows increased but cool oilflow through the loaders hydraulic system. This also reduces wear and tear of seals, O Rings, ram, cylinders, control valves and joints. Reduced wear and cooler oil means less leakage. Better flows and longer life of oil means enhanced crane performance. Built for smooth operation The Xcavator s ergonomic design ensures an efficient and quick operation. The high performance V8OH valve block provides a smooth responsive control. An additional 10% capacity is achieved using ADC Automatic Duty Control and the Space System log can be used for evaluating usage and servicing needs. A boom linkage system ensures smooth movement and increased power, constantly throughout the lifting arc.

The crossover walkway offers clear access unobstructed by hoses. Direct lever control to a six section valve block mounted on the nearside, offers smooth and precise control at all times. Most importantly, the platform safety envelope ensures that the boom cannot slew or lower into the operator area. There is also a ground level inner boom control lever, to raise the boom before tipping. Crane stabilisers can be operated both from ground level and the platform.
