3 RBM Team Focus 120 Years Total Experience Market Weighton Parts Team 120 years experience, it s a startling figure but it is one we are very proud of. Even more so when you think it is shared between only four people. There s a lot of years experience but how well do we really know them, time to find out. From the left: Richard, Alwyn and Paul Sam Morrison Sam started work at RBM after finding an advert for a workshop handyman 37 years ago. 6 months into the job a position opened up in the parts department so Sam applied and joined the team. Back when Sam first started he and Alwyn were working with parts books, manual stock control cards and having to go up to the high street to send parts orders by Telex. He is now more often seen on the front counter serving customers and using a combination of modern systems and years of experience to look after our customers needs. Best part of the Job Dealing with customers and that every single customer visit is different to the last. Fun Fact - Despite 37 years of working together, Alwyn and Sam have never fallen out. Paul Everingham Paul has been with RBM for 29 years but has spent a good bit of it outside of the Market Weighton parts department. He started in the service department following a successful work experience. After 3 years he moved to help work in the accounts department which was then based in Market Weighton. 5 years later he finally moved into the parts but even though being in the parts for 21 years, he is often seen at our other branches and has worked at least 1 day in every branch we ve had in his time. Best part of the Job Getting out and about the countryside, especially delivering, installing and helping maintain ride on mowers. Hobbies and Pastimes Paul has lots of hobbies including walking, cycling, photography (regular on Look North for photography and images often used for RBM too), wildlife and generally spending time in the countryside. I enjoy a good working relationship with everyone throughout the company One of Pauls photos taken just outside Market Weighton Richard Brown Richard has been with us for coming up on 6 years having seen an advert in the local paper before applying and starting with us in March 2009 as a Parts Apprentice. One of the first to go through the John Deere Parts Tech apprenticeships, Richard s fully qualified and has become a vital member of the team. Best part of the Job Helping customers and meeting people on the front counter. Hobbies and Pastimes Apart from spending time with his Alaskan Malamute, Lexy, Richard prefers to spend his time with all manner of motorbikes and cars (having a preference for Japanese sports cars and a proud owner of a Subaru Impreza). I ve learnt a lot since starting with RBM & am looking forward to helping customers grow their businesses in the future Alwyn Maynard Parts Manager Alwyn, having started with the company (Robert B. Massey) at 16 years old, this year celebrates his 47th year with us. After 20 years as a Parts Manager you might be surprised to learn he originally went for a job in the accounts department but Alwyn was quickly directed to the Parts and has never looked back. Best part of the Job Alwyn says his favourite part of the job is seeing and being part of the moving farming generations. Not every industry gives you the opportunity to get to know whole families of people through the years and this is something he really enjoys. Hobbies and Pastimes On his time off Alwyn loves to travel and is a regular on the train down to London before often going somewhere a little warmer. I ve had the pleasure of working with a lot of good people, customers included.
