Face shield/ safety glasses suggested. 8) Any driver or pit person causing a disturbance or interference with a race in progress or enters the track area during a race will be escorted off the fairgrounds immediately. Personal belongings can be picked up the next day. Any drivers associated with persons causing a problem will be automatically disqualified from all events. 9) Proof of Ownership or Title to the car must be provided at time of registration upon request. 10) Car must also have a VIN plate (RSMo is the law). 11) ONLY demo cars and their tow vehicle will be allowed in the pit area and should enter at the same time. No additional cars or trucks will be allowed in the pit area. 12) No driver or pit person under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be permitted to participate. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed in the pit area. The Fair Association reserves the right to inspect any coolers brought into the pit area. 13) You must have an armband on to be in the pit area and sign a waiver of liability supplied by the Fair Association. 14) Drivers must register in with officials upon arrival to the fair grounds. All registration must be complete by the pit meeting. 15) Once the event has started, no driver, vehicle or heat changes will be allowed, unless directed by officials. The Officials have the right to refuse any entry. All decisions of the officials are final. General Car Rules & Regulations The following General Car Rules & Regulations will apply to all classes of demolition derby run at the Platte County Fair along with class rules to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publication of or compliance with these rules and/or regulations. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participant, spectator, or official. Any car not aggressively participating in the action for one minute, not moving for one minute or stalled for one minute will be disqualified. Cars that are hung together must make contact with other live cars in one minute or be disqualified. No sandbagging, any car not actively participating will be given ONE warning before being disqualified. ~ All cars will be safety inspected prior to the event. A car will not be permitted to run if the rules are violated. ~ The Officials may require a driver to remove or change any part or portion of the automobile that the judges consider to be unsafe to the driver or others. ~ All cars will have open hood inspection before the event. Inspections may be extensive if deemed necessary by officials (Drilling, cutting frame, tires, etc) ~ No intentional or careless driver s door or direct head on hits allowed. Two fires that stop action and you will be disqualified. ~ All cars must have working brakes and exhibit the ability to stop before entering the arena. ~The officials will deal with any situation not covered in rules if deemed necessary. All decisions of the officials are final. ~ Protest will cost $ up front. If the protest stands, the $ will be returned. If not, the $ is forfeited. ~ Engine Clam will apply to pure stock & supper stock class. ~ If a vehicle fails inspection and you are not willing to change it will not be allowed to enter. 2 2015 Platte County Fair Pure Stock Class This class is designed to allow people to get out and compete and have FUN! This class is designed with beginners in mind. We will allow you to do a few things, but those things will be for safety. If you attempt to undermine the nature of this class, you will not be allowed to run. 1) Pure stock class, open to any year, make or model excluding the following: Imperials, Imp sub frame cars, Checkers, & Hurst type. 2) Stock sized motors only No built motors. Drive train must be make as car, example GM/GM or Ford/Ford etc. 3) All glass, Chrome and trash must be removed from vehicle. Dash may stay in and could be required in future. 4) Battery and Gas tank must be moved in side of the car and secured properly. Single 12V battery and aftermarket or boat fuel tank. Do Not use the factory gas tank or bungee cords. 5) Electric fuel pumps must have a red shut off switch with in drivers reach. 6) Hood, Trunk and Rear doors may have 2 six inch welds OR 6 (six) points of contact. Must pass through or attach sheet metal only. Bolts not to exceed 3/4 x 4 long with maximum washer size 3. Cable and Chain maximum is 3/8 or 4 wraps of #9 wire. 7) Fire safety hole in hood is required minimum 15 square inches of area. 8) Drivers doors may be welded for safety, Dash bar, behind seat bar and side bars allowed for Safety. 9) Frames from 1980 and newer may be notched in rear but trunk lid must be in factory location. 10) Stock suspension front and rear. OEM rear end and drive line only. No pto style or slip drive shafts. 11) Bumpers must be factory. They may be trimmed or folded on ends. Late model Aluminum Bumpers may be changed but must be from same make (gm/gm, ford/ford). Bumper shocks can be chained for safety (loosely). 12) Motor and Transmission may be welded or chained in place. No engine cradles, Distributor or Transmission protectors. 13) Body mounts must be stock. Replace with wire if rusted. Only the back two body mounts may be removed and bolted tight. OEM size 14) DOT tires only, Max; LT 15 with 6 ply. Fenders may be trimmed for clearance. Tubes and Uni-lug wheels optional. Must meet judges approval. 17) Repair weld up to Forty inches total length (single pass) and must be PRE-approved by officials. Paint ALL welds a bright color after welding. No paint, No pass inspection. 18) If you are driving in the stock class, you may not drive in any other class the same night. Except Youth / Rookie heat. 19) Floor shift, hand throttle and Headers thru the hood are allowed. 20) Do not read between the lines or look for gray areas in these rules. These rules tell you what you can do and everything else is illegal. Judges decision is final, no ifs, ands or buts! 21) Engine claim; There will be a $750 claim on any engine (ENGINE ONLY) used during this competition. If you wouldn t sell your engine for $750, then don t run it. Drivers competing in same class as well as the Head Official may claim any engine from same class and the driver finishing in last place has the first chance to claim any engine working all the way to the 1st place driver with he/she and then the Head Official having the last opportunity to claim an engine combo. Carburetors, Starter, Intake, etc all go with the engine if it is claimed. Headers, Radiator and engine wiring for example will stay with the car. The driver making the claim is responsible for removal of the engine must be done within a reasonable amount of time. If motor mounting bolts are welded in some way more time will be given for engine removal. Minimum of 2.5 hours will be given after the completion of the Hobo class feature and the cash exchanged with the driver whose engine is being claimed. You may not torch the vehicle to remove the engine unless the engine is welded in at the motor mounts. If that is the case, that is the only cutting allowed. Cash in hand policy on all claims and the cash must be given to the driver in the arena at the end of the Hobo class feature and the 2.5 hour time limit begins at that point. By driving in and competing in this class, you are implying your consent to the claim or sale of your engine. If your engine is claimed, you may not forfeit your winnings and keep your equipment. If anything is done to damage the engine after the claim is made then the claimed money will be returned. Patty Farr Performance Award Performance award will be given to the top performance drivers in each class. Open to all drivers with Patty Farr visible on their car. Paint it up nice, show your support, put on a show and you may be rewarded. $ awarded in each class! Pure Stock, Super Stock, 4 Cylinder, Six Cylinder and Rookie Heat. 3 New for 2015 POWER WHE ELS Derby Any child ages 4 to 9 with a Power Wheel can participate in the Power Wheels Derby. They must wear approved safety helmets. Bicycle helmet is fine. All Power wheels must remain stock with no added re-enforcements! You may add a rubber tire to the tread area of the power wheel s tire for added traction. Must use one 12 volt battery only and must be mounted secure and covered with rubber mat. Power wheels may be decorated to look like a demo derby car, but may NOT be re-enforced. If child gets out of the power wheel during event, that child is out of the event. All children must be signed in with a parent at the pit gates. One parent will be allowed on the track with their child during the event. This is a Timed Event, after time has expired, the winner will be decided by the child that preformed the best during the event. Pre-registration preferred but not required. First time event but our goal is to have awards for all entries Platte County Fair Compact 4cyl & Mid-sized 6cyl Class Rules Compact Car - Front Wheel Drive Only, four cylinders with less than 108 wheelbase. Engine Maximum size four cylinders from factory. Open to foreign makes and models Mid Sized Six cylinder motor from factory, No 4x4, AWD or full size vehicles. Including four cylinder rear wheel drive cars, small pickups & mini vans. Engine - Maximum size six cylinders & four cylinders with rear wheel drive. Preparation of Compact & Mid size Class - Pit Area, Drivers, General Rules & Regulations Also Apply 1) Number must be painted on both sides of car and 12 x12 number sign on the top. Slogans and/or advertising must be in good taste. 2) All glass and chrome must be removed BEFORE reaching the grounds. This includes headlights and tail lights. Do not just knock out glass but remove cleanly. Trunks and interior must be empty of all debris, spare tires, rims, parts, etc. 3) Gas tanks (No rubber or stretch cords) Original gas tank must be removed from stock position and replaced with an aftermarket tank or fuel cell. ***Boat tank or aftermarket fuel cell ONLY! *** Maximum amount of fuel 10 gallons behind driver. The Tank must be properly secured and covered. All lines must be secured and ran safely. Gas tank protector is allowed, No wider than 24 inches, must stay 4 above floor and 1 from back seat panel sheet metal and may not be attached. May not run straight back to frame humps, must angle in from back seat bar or be mounted in center. If vehicle is equipped with an electric fuel pump a shut off switch (Red) must be placed in easy reach of driver. 4) Batteries - (No rubber or stretch cords) Must be secured in the passenger floor and covered. 5) Radiators may be removed but not relocated. No added protection may be in front of radiator (including folded down hood). 6) All doors, hood, wagon gates, and trunk lids must be fastened shut. A maximum of six (6) fasteners per hood, door, trunk, hatchback and wagon gate, not closer than 12 inches apart. All chains, wire, fasteners, etc. must pass through sheet metal only, with the exception of the front two bolts may go through the top side of frame. Maximum fastener size will be 3/4 diameter bolt, 3/8 Chain or cable (2 wraps), Wire #9 wire (4 wraps), or 4 welds. Hood- Must be able to open if needed and Must have cut outs for Fire Safety. 7) Driver and Passengers outside Door seams may be welded 50% with strap no larger 3 wide and 3/16 thick. Only driver s door may be reinforced. Drivers door may be welded solid. 8) Welding on body and frame. No reinforcements allowed other than specified below. Any metal added to reinforce the car is illegal. ABSOLUTELY NO WELDING ON FRAMES, UNIBODY OR BODY UNLESS SPECIFIED. Motor and Transmission Mounts may be welded in compact and mid-size class. Front and Rear bumper mounts (rule 11), Doors (rule 6&7), 9) No reinforcement of body or frame. No chains, bolts or extra material may be attached, around or through frame. This includes any type of plating. Original body on stock frames for that year must be used. You may cut frames for minimal pre-bending, but may not weld the cut. You may replace body mounts, but must have a minimal of a 1 space between the frame and body. You may replace stock bolts and washers on outside of body and frame, but must not exceed 3/4 bolt diameter or 3" inch diameter flat washer. Body mount may not be covered in any way. No body bolt may extend below frame; all bolts and nuts must be inside of frame.. NO additional support may be added, in, through or attached to frame or body! 10) Suspension must be at stock. You may block struts for tire clearance. You can bolt or wire coil springs to rear end and frame to prevent springs from falling out. You can loop chain or wire from rear end to frame in 2 spots on each side. No bigger than #9 wire or three eights inch chain or cable may be used. You may have 2 additional spring clamps on leafs. 11) Any Automotive bumper of compact size may be used on any car. No Stuffed, Filled, Homemade or Full size vehicle bumpers or brackets. You can weld bumper, brackets or towers to the unibody or frame. You may trim bumper ends or fold them around. You can weld outer skin of bumper to the inner part of the bumper. When welding Do Not add any metal just the welder. 12) Pneumatic tires only (Air only). 16 rim maximum. Tubes Optional. No foam, cement, liquid fillers in tires. No solid tires or split rims. All wheel weights and any type of studs should be removed from tires. Valve stem protectors if mounted securely. Fender well may be cut for clearance, cut outs may have 4 3/8 bolts per fender well. 13) Auxiliary transmission cooler will be allowed, but must be located in the rear passenger s compartment and properly covered. All transmission lines must be insulated on auxiliary coolers. Transmission lines may also be looped. 14) Drivers Cage-. A single bar may also be placed across the dash area. A single bar may be placed behind the driver s seat. The bar may be no higher than the stock seat and be parallel to the stock bench seat. Bars maybe connected with sidebars but sidebars must remain on the inside of passenger area. Bars must attach to sheet metal only. Halo bar may be added and bolted to roof in 2 places. No kickers may be attached to the cage. Cage purpose is for driver s safety! 15) Front window- Bar, Chain Wire required to keep hood out of driver s area. Max of Two bars may be used but must attach to sheet metal only no further than 4 from window opening. Max size is 2 diameter or 2 angle for window bars. No Rear Bars. 16) Repair- You may add Four 4 x6 x1/4 plates Max. Paint plates only a bright color and damage obvious. Unlimited No. 9 Wire.

5 2015 Platte County Fair Super Stock Class Rules This is not a full weld modified event but a little more than the Pure Stock. These cars can be well built within a budget and similar classes are becoming more popular across the Midwest. Preparation If it is not in the Rules, it does not mean it is OK! 1) This is a 1980 & newer vehicles (Metric style) only! 2) Number must be painted on both sides and on a roof sign (12 x12 ) mounted to the top of the car. Only one sign and not mounted with in 6 of roof edge 3) All glass, chrome and interiors (back seat, etc.) must be removed before reaching fairgrounds. Trunks and interior must be empty of all debris, spare tires, rims, parts, etc. 4) Gas tanks (No rubber or stretch cords) A. Original gas tank must be removed from stock position and replaced with an aftermarket tank or fuel cell. ***Boat tank or aftermarket fuel cell ONLY! *** Maximum amount of fuel 10 gallons behind driver. B. The Tank must be properly secured and covered. All lines must be secured and ran safely. No Gas tank protectors allowed. C. If vehicle is equipped with an electric fuel pump a shut off switch (Red) must be placed in easy reach of driver. 5) Batteries (No rubber or stretch cords) A. Must be secured in the passenger floor and covered. Maximum of two 12-volt batteries may be used. 6) Radiators A. Must be Stock; size and style. B. No extra protection may be added in front of radiator. (Factory AC condenser only.) No welding or reinforcing to radiator support. 7) Hoods A. Hood must remain in Factory location. B. Must be fastened shut. Bolted, wired or chained ONLY. Must have cut outs for Fire Safety. C. A maximum of Six fasteners per hood. Maximum fastener size will be 3/4 diameter bolt, Chain or Wire (3/8 chain (2 wraps), #9 wire (4 wraps) maximum washer diameter 5 x ¼ thick. All fasteners must pass through sheet metal only except for core support blots. D. The front 2 bolts (core support) may be 3/4" diameter may go thru the hood and connect to frame at factory mount and count as 2 of your 6 hood bolts. No sleeves or more than 7 nuts per bolt. Do Not weld bolts to the frame. E. You may install up to 6 3/8 bolts with 1 washer per hood cut out. Maximum of three cut outs and no more than 18 bolts. 8) Doors A. Driver s Door Only may be reinforced and welded solid not to exceed six inches past the door seams. B. Doors may be welded 5 on then skip 5 outside only, 3 x1/8 strap maximum. You may also use rod to fill the gaps in place of strapping but you may not use both. No welding of inside door seams or other body seams. 9) Windows A. Maximum of two bars may be placed from the cowl to the roof in front of the driver. Window bars are for Safety! Bar limits- not longer than 4 above & below window opening. Max size is 2 diameter or 2 angle, ¼ thick. Do not connect the windshield bars to the dash safety bar in any manner. Window bars are for Safety not reinforcement if window bars are deemed to reinforce the firewall beyond reason they will be changed or cut. 10) Trunk Lid A. Trunk lids must remain 50% in the stock location and the trunk lid must remain on the hinges. B. A maximum of Six fasteners per Trunk or tailgate. Max fastener size will be 3/4 diameter bolt, Chain, Cable (3/8 (2 wraps), # 9 wire (4 wraps) maximum washer diameter 5 x ¼ thick. All fasteners must pass through sheet metal. C. Exception two of six points may be ¾ all-tread and may bolt to frame. Max flat washer on frame is 3 x3. D. No Welding of Trunk Lid or all-thread to frame. Must be bolted! E. There must be a 12 minimum hole in the trunk area for inspection purposes. Six - 3/8 bolts with 1 washers for hole. F. The tail light panel must be vertical. Tucking or V ing of trunk lid is allowed, but absolutely no wedging. 11) Tires & Wheels A. No Flats! Any standard pneumatic tires. No taller than 31 (any ply) Tubes optional. B. Must be an OEM automotive type wheel. Uni-lug centers may used in OEM automotive wheel. C. Valve stems protector allowed. Must be secure, rebar or flat steel only. No pipe or lug nuts. D. NO Split Rims. No wheel weights. No studded tires. All wheel weights and any type of studs must be removed. 12) Drivers Cage A. A single bar may be placed across the dash area must have minimum of 5 clearance from center of firewall. B. A single bar may be placed behind the driver s seat. The bar may be no higher than the stock seat and must be parallel to the stock bench seat. Bar cannot exceed to the rear more than 18 past center post on 4 doors and 10 on 2 doors. C. Front and rear bars may be connected with two side bars. All bars must remain from the inside of drivers & passenger compartment. Maximum bar size or mounting plate size of 8 x 8 inches. D. Cage must attach to sheet metal only (welding allowed) and Must be at least 6 above floor. E. No Vertical legs must be floating cage secured to sides only. No cage components may be connected to the frame. F. One roof / halo / roll bar is optional. Must connect to cage behind driver and can t extend past cage limits. (3 roof bolts) G. Cage is for driver s protection not to reinforce and strengthen the car. No cage extension to rear deck.

6 2015 Platte County Fair Super Stock Demolition Rules continued. 13) Suspension A. All cars suspension systems must be Stock OEM equipment to model of car. Car must have bounce. B. No coil over shocks, air shocks, blocked shocks or other reinforcement allowed. No leaf spring conversions! C. Coil spring may be wired or chained in for safety. Leafs may have 2 additional spring clamps OR tape wraps per side. 14) Rear End A. Rear-end must be 5 lug and same make as car (Gm/GM Ford/Ford). Welding gears or lockers fine. No Bracing. B. Drive Shaft - May be shortened or lengthened or you may use PTO style slip drive shaft. 15) Frames A. Frames must remain stock from 1980 to newer. Must use factory cross member and no relocating. B. No painting, undercoating of frames Etc. If frame has been painted car will not be inspected. C. No welding on frame unless listed in rules. No reinforcement frame. No plating inside or out. No pinning, no filling of frame holes. No doubling of material. No heat treating or foam filling of frames is allowed. Cutting and/or pre-notching the frame is allowed. D. You may run a 3/8 chain or cable or 4strands of #9 wire from rear rail to rear rail behind the rear humps. Must wrap around frame. Do not bolt through frame or weld to frame. E. NO Pitching or Rotating Frame may be done. 16) Body A. All Body mounts must remain stock! Do Not remove any part of the factory body mount including steel shim that inside rubber mount! If bolt is rusted out or broken, you can replace the bolt with same size of factory bolt or wire. Bolt must be up inside of frame as factory with nothing inside of frame. No added body mounts allowed! B. Trimming of fenders and wheel openings allowed. Six 3/8 bolts w/ 1 max washer diameter per wheel opening. 17) Engine A. Any engine/transmission combination will be allowed. Engine must be mounted in stock location. B. Stock OEM style motor mounts must be used and may be welded only in cradle area not frame rails. C. You may Chain motor in below headers, connected from motor / cradle to frame 3/8 chain max, only two points of contact. D. You may convert the engine from fuel injection to carburetion, but this must be done by only exchanging the intake manifolds. E. May use header pipes pointed in a safe upward direction. Carburetors must be covered. No open engine fans (No hood = no fan). F. No Engine cradles, No distributor protectors, No bracing or pre-bending of firewall to install motor / transmission. G. Engine must have clearance of firewall. Any cutting Firewall please cover cutout with flame retardant material. 18) Bumpers A. Must be 80 and newer bumper with Stock mounts! You may trim bumper ends or fold them around. B. Bumpers can be welded on with four 3 x3 x1/4 flat plate 2 per side or they can be wired, chained or bolted from mount to mount. If you have an aluminum bumper you may change it to same style GM/GM or Ford/Ford. Exception you can use a back bumper on rear of car off any year car but must be fastened on as stated above. C. No welding of shocks or brackets and bumper skins! No Filled, stuffed, special or homemade bumpers or brackets. 19) Optional Accessories A. Hand throttles and Shifter directly to transmission. B. You can run aftermarket throttle pedal and break set ups if you desire these must be separate. You cannot run a set up that is a plate contoured to the floorboard of the car. C. No. 9 wire is fine but may not connect to cage or halo. No more than two per window. D. Transmission Coolers; Only Safe and Secure setups! 1) Must be located in rear passenger s compartment. Must be enclosed or covered 2) All lines must be insulated on auxiliary coolers. Metal or steel braded high-pressure line only. 20) Repair - You may add Four 4 x6 x1/4 plates total. Area must show damage. Paint the plate(s) only a bright color. If a vehicle fails inspection and you are not willing to change it will not be allowed to enter.
