Important notices 1.1 Preface This manual contains important information on the toro crane fork and should provide you with support to operate the crane fork quickly and securely. All persons assigned to work with the crane fork are required to attentively read this manual to familiarize themselves with the crane fork. 1.2 Recommendation After receipt of the crane fork, it is recommended that you perform a sight check to ensure that transport damage can be ruled out. 1.3 Storage The crane forks are to be stored with as much protection from the elements and external interference as possible. 1.4 Accident prevention Safety above all else!!! Always follow all accident prevention regulations. 1.5 Guarantee and warranty Our General terms of sale and delivery always apply. be Warranty or liability claims for personal injury and property damage are excluded if they can attributed to one or more of the following causes: Improper use of the crane fork Use of a defective crane fork Failure to comply with requirements in terms of transport, storage, assembly, commissioning, operation and testing of the crane fork Performance of structural changes to the crane fork Untimely replacement of wearing parts Improperly performed repairs and/or the performance of repairs by personnel without special training - 4 -

5 1.6 Safety Improperly loaded load (one-sided, downward, only front or with bulky objects: (boards, sheathing parts etc.) can caused the lifted crane fork to tilt. The load can slide down as a result. Bulky items can slide from the crane fork and fall to the ground. Falling items jeopardize your life and those of others! - Wear safety shoes - Use head protection 1.7 Transport The crane forks must be secured against tipping and sliding during transport Transports may only be performed by authorized specialized personnel The crane forks may only be lifted at the suspension points 1.8 Inspection and maintenance Proper use of the crane fork also includes following the inspection and test notices and operation as described in the operating manual. If defects are detected, the crane forks must be decommissioned immediately. In order to ensure the safety of the crane forks during operation it is to be ensured that they are regularly checked by a qualified person. These tests should be performed once a year unless shorter test intervals are necessary due to unfavourable work conditions. The components of the stacker should be checked for damage and wear as well as other irregularities and all safety elements should be checked for completeness and effectiveness. Before the check, it can sometimes be necessary to clean the loading fork in advance. This particularly applies if it is covered with material from a previous usage, e.g. paints or salts. Repairs may only be performed by specialized workshops which use original parts Function test The scope of the test with a visual and function check extends to breaks, deformations, cracks, damages, wear, corrosion damage and functional faults of the loading fork. This must include the following points: Check of all movable parts (smooth operation) Check of setting capabilities Check of safety devices (e.g. locks on structural elements) Completeness check of the assembly - 5 -

6 1.8.2 Sample load Crane forls are given a test load with a nominal load Here no deformities can occur and the load must be held securely The tests are to be arranged by the owner 1.9 Structural changes to the crane fork Retrofits to the crane fork may only be performed by the manufacturer Defective parts are to be replaced immediately Only original parts may be used. If third-party parts are used, any warranty and any warranty claims become invalid Training of personnel Only experienced, trained personnel may operate the crane forks Proper usage The crane forks are exclusively suitable for the transport of palleted goods and merchandise The load capacity indicated on the device is the maximum load which may exceeded When transporting loose materials such as roofing tiles or building blocks at construction sites an additional net or a suitable cage must be used to prevent items from falling. The load suspension means can work in an ambient environment between 40 C and +100 C. You should contact the manufacturer in the event of extreme conditions. The accident prevention or safety regulations for load suspension means of the respective country in which the load suspension means is used must be followed. Use of the safety chain (essential at construction sites) Wrap the included safety chain around the palletted items to be liften and tighten. Insert and hang in the chain in the eye provided. Proper usage also includes: As the operator, always stand next to the crane fork and maintain a safety distance of one arm length The unloaded crane fork on the lifter has an approximate prong incline of approx. 3 to the front. 7 For load forks with manual weight compensation KGM/KGQ/KGL: Affix the chain of the crane above the estimated centre of gravity of the load. Slightly lift the loading fork and check the tipping behavior of the load. The prongs of the loading fork can easily bend downward easily and at the same time: you can further lift the load fork and transport the load. The prongs of the loading fork sharps incline to the back or front: Lower all loading forks. Adjust the position of the crane chain by pushing it into the tip position in the grid. The load tips to one side. Lower all loading forks. Push the point of gravity of the load in such a way that it is located in between the two prongs

8 For load forks with automatic weight compensation it is required to load the crane fork with at least 20-25% of the overall weight. The crane eye can move within the trajectory and the movement depends on the weight of the load. The automatic weight compensation is automatically activated immediately after loading the fork with a gas pressure spring. The load is always suspended at the centre of gravity of the fork and this ensures safe transport. Insert the crane chain into the crane eye of the loading fork Slightly lift the loading fork and check the tipping behavior of the load. The prongs of the loading fork can easily bend downward easily and at the same time: you can further lift the load fork and transport the load. The prongs of the loading fork sharps incline to the front Lower the loading fork and move the large bolt (no. 4) from pos A to pos B The load capacity indicated applies with a distance of the load centre of gravity of 400 mm (Euro pallet crosswise 800 mm) or 500 mm from the fork carrier (Euro pallet lengthwise 1000 mm), half prong length. 9 1.12 Improper usage Use of the load suspension means to transport persons is prohibited. When transporting the load, a pendular motion and the impact with obstacles is to be avoided. The materials to be lifted should always be transported carefully and slowly. Loading the load suspension means with a lateral tractive force is prohibited. It is prohibited to stand under the suspended load. The prongs may not bend forward to lift the loaded crane fork. 2 Product description The crane fork is only intended for the transport of pallet loads. The types KGM/KGQ/KGL are to be set manually for the respective load; the type KGA is a crane fork with automatic weight compensation. 2.1 Initial commissioning Upon receipt of the toro crane fork, it is recommended that you check the shipment for completeness and inspect for transport damage

10 2.2 Delivery list 3 Assembly list The traverse beam is inserted into the fork carrier and locked with the height adjustment handle to one of the three positions provided. After locking, the height adjustment handle is secured with the safety spring hanging on the chain. For each height adjustment you must ensure that the height adjustment handle is secured with the safety spring. After unscrewing the safety plate, the crane fork must be lifted several centimeters to be able to push the fork prongs onto the fork prong carrier. The safety plate should immediately be attached with the provided fillister head screws. The locking levers pushed into the fork prongs with an open-ended spanner with an opening width of 24 to the correct position and are locked with the locking lever pin. Here you should always ensure that the fork prongs are well-secured with the locking levers

12 3.1 Check the following points before all operation: The height adjustment lever is secured with the safety spring. The prong width and the pallet width fit together and the prongs are secured with the locking lever pins. The load is secured with the safety chain. The load centre of gravity and the load grip point match The useful load is not exceeded (note maximum load) The load has the least possible but even overhang. 3.2 Adjustment of the fork prongs Before initial commissioning of the crane fork, the operator should familiarize himself with the product and attentively read the user information. Take a pallet load and using a locking lever lock the fork prongs to the width of the pallet. Ensure that the locking lever pins are well locked into place. The prong width must correspond to the pallet width in such a way that the distance to the left and right of the crane work is as minimal as possible but even. The weight may not be greater than the useful load, the load centre of gravity must be in such a position that it corresponds to the load application point of the crane fork

13 ATTENTION! Lateral movement of the load can cause the load to tip. Always secure the load with the load safety chain. The load safety chain is only an anti-slip safety device. Lift the pallet until it is freely suspended above the ground. Check to ensure that the load is aligned horizontally. Lower the load. When lifting the load, ensure that the forks maintain an angle of 5 to
