2 NZQA Qualification Fairview Educational Services Ltd (FEDS) was established in 1998 and specialises in delivering automotive trade training on site at Fairview Motors in Hamilton. Training at Fairview Motors provides students with first hand experience of the day to day operations and expectations of a large automotive dealership. Studying in this unique environment is ideal preparation for working in the automotive and related industries. FEDS courses are responsive and relevant to the needs of the motor industry and students gain knowledge and skills that are in high demand. FEDS is a NZQA registered and accredited training provider. 3 NCEA LEVEL YOUTH GUARANTEE COURSE Vocational Pathway: Manufacturing and Technology This qualification provides an excellent grounding for students across various automotive trades. In addition to motor industry standards students will have the opportunity to complete the literacy and numeracy standards required for NCEA. At the completion of this qualification graduates will be ready to move into employment within the motor industry or carry on to study the level three New Zealand Certificate in Automotive Engineering qualification. Graduates of this course will be ready to pathway into employment within the motor industry and will ideally continue training through an apprenticeship. 8 COURSE FEES 019 Both level and level 3 courses are zero fees All workbooks and writing materials are provided to students at no charge Boots and overalls are required and are available on a shared basis Assistance with travel costs is available WORK EXPERIENCE FEDS courses include classroom teaching and practical trade training. For both YG courses students are required to carry out work experience in a commercial working environment. The work experience component starts after students have completed the essential safety and hand tools unit standards.
