In ddition, if the ccessory prt is not instlled nd hndled properly s set out in these instlltion instructions, no clims under the gurntee will be ccepted by BMW AG. Instlltion instructions The ccessory side skirt should be instlled by two people.the instlltion work is shown for the side skirt on the right-hnd side of the cr.the work for the left-hnd side must be completed in the sme wy. Sfety instructions It is essentil to ensure tht ny mechnicl work or pinting does not destroy the model plte or embossed informtion in the side skirt or render it illegible.the model plte is embossed legibly t the rer on the inside of the side skirt. Pinting instructions The rer wing is supplied redy-primed nd must undergo the pproprite pre-tretment. Refer to the BMW pinting instructions for ll pinting work. Procedures The side skirt is mde of PUR-R-RIM. Pint it using BMW crylic pint +30% softfce dditive Mximum temperture for stoving 40 C. 6 2. Instlltion Notes Refer to the sfety instructions in section. The instlltion work for the ccessory is bsed on the workshop informtion. Refer lso to repir instruction To remove, instll nd replce the trim for the side member cover on the left nd right. Unfold folded pge 2-9 Preprtions Plce the bove workshop documents to hnd. Plce the grommets, clips nd expnding rivets into wter for little time before the instlltion work. A Tke the expnding rivets () on the side skirt (2) out of the side member from underneth in the direction indicted by the rrow. B Unclip the side skirt (2) from the front to the rer in the direction indicted by the rrow long the side member. Crefully rise the enggement pin (3) (see mgnified view) out of the recess on the trim (4) on the side member nd tke the side skirt (2) off the side member. C Lever the remining retining clips (6) nd grommets (7) out of the side member (5).Then insert the grommets (d) out of the prts kit into the holes used by the old grommets on the side member (5). D Fit the retining clips (e) into the securing ril (8) on the ccessory side skirt () t the mrkings (9) (see mgnified view). E Hold the ccessory side skirt () ginst the side member, lign it nd clip it to the side member in the direction indicted by the rrow.then crefully press the enggement pin (0) into the recess on the trim () on the side member (tke cre, this prt is frgile). F Secure the ccessory side skirt () to the side member by inserting expnding rivets (c) from underneth. Repet ll the bove work on the left-hnd side of the cr. 2-2/EN
