As it is now tradition, we ll take this opportunity to introduce them. First we have John Cardy (top) who has joined our Parts team at Retford. John joins us from a strong parts background and fills in for Dan Fox who has chosen to help strengthen our team at Brigg. Next are our two new service apprentices; Adam Leckenby (bottom left) joins at Malton from college and Lewis Aitchison (bottom right) joins us at Brigg straight from school. 2 The brand New John Deere T-Series Setting a new standard New Hybrid-Walker combining from the John Deere T-Series Could this be the best combine in the world? We ask one of our customers. The new John Deere T-series combines represent a huge leap forward for combining technology. Previously there was a choice between conventional (straw walker) technology and rotary combines, however the new John Deere T-series is now the first true hybrid-walker combine. With more active separation area than any other walker combine, and more than many other rotary combines, it gives performance levels never before known from a walker combine. Yet by retaining straw walkers it has all the advantages of straw quality, fuel consumption and versatility of a conventional combine. The biggest sieve area on the market also means an outstanding grain sample with huge cleaning capacity. One of our customers changed from a 450hp rotary combine to a new T670i HillMaster this season so what does he think? Sam Dore farms on the Derbyshire-Nottinghamshire border and very kindly agreed to talk about his new combine: I did struggle to believe that a walker combine would perform as well as my old rotary combine, but I have noticed a significant improvement in performance. I m doing over 50 tonnes per hour in wheat with very low losses, better straw quality, and better grain sample than before. The fuel economy is good and I m very pleased with it. 4 John Deere 9RX One year on and many demonstrations later Over the past year we have had a busy time demonstrating the 9RX and as it is a new product we thought it worthwhile to give an update regarding how we, and our customers, feel about how it has performed out there in our customers fields. Steve Butler, our Sales Support Specialist, has been accompanying the 9RX when it has been on its demonstrations so we have asked him to reflect on how it has got on and what our customers have been saying about the new flagship. This is what he has had to say. With the 9620RX being in high demand we had to ensure it went to as many customers as possible. Luckily the weather fell right for most but even for those who had to use it in wet conditions, the machine has outperformed itself. There are three main factors that have been brought up time and again about the 9RX: Fuel consumption, driver comfort and machine efficiency. With fuel consumption being a key indicator for customers, the 9RX has proved itself to be more fuel efficient against the competition. One of the advantages of demonstrations is that this has helped prove that it s not just sales jargon in the brochures because in practice, in the field, the facts run true. Driver comfort is another priority for our customers and once again, this was always being brought up during demonstrations. With the large spacious cab and the large comfy seat alongside the new Commandarm, it was very apparent through the feedback from customers that the cab was one of the premium features of the vehicle and improved their work environment when compared to the competition. In terms of the actual machines efficiency and ability to do the job, the power and traction were obviously always impressive as was the visibility around the machine from the cab. The integrated GPS precision technology brought to light just how efficient the 9RX can be with AB lines being so easy to set up, additional Greenstar settings so easy to manage and generally ensuring that the whole integrated machine is very user friendly. John Deere UK and RBM would like to thank everyone who went to visit the John Deere 50th Anniversary Celebration in September. An estimated 14,000 people visited and helped to ensure the event was a great success. Here s to the next 50 years.
