2 Experience the progress Liebherr Piling Rigs of the LRH Series Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH offers a wide range of carrier machines equipped with fixed and swinging leaders for special pile driving applications requiring large radii and large inclinations to install heavy piles. 1 Flexibility and Efficiency Depending on the requirements basic machines of the crawler crane series, either duty cycle (HS) or lift version (LR), or of the drilling rig series (LB) are used. Combined with solid leaders this high-performance construction machinery convinces with its high level of efficiency and flexibility. 2 Liebherr Piling Rig LRH 1 The LRH 1 is designed as piling rig and is based on the proven LB 2 carrier machine of the Liebherr drilling rig series (LB series). 3 Powerful Equipment Due to the high engine power of the Liebherr carrier machines with up to 67 kw, hydraulic hammers and vibrators can be driven by the on-board hydraulics. No additional power pack is required which significantly reduces the costs for operation and maintenance. 2

3 4 Litronic Control System The core of the Liebherr LRH series is the Litronic control system. Developed and manufactured by Liebherr, this comprehensive system encompasses all control and monitoring functions and is designed for extreme environmental conditions in tough assignments. 5 Electronic Evaluation A modem for remote diagnosis as well as a process data recording system for recording the work carried out and a process data report software for evaluating the recorded data are available as cartridge. 6 Reliable Service Thanks to low maintenance requirements, the possibility of remote diagnosis, quick assistance on site and an efficient spare parts supply, Liebherr guarantees the permanent availability of its products. For qualified service of the machines as well as comprehensive training of operating and maintenance personnel, state-of-the-art repair and training centres are available at the works in Nenzing and at other locations. 3

4 1 Flexibility and Efficiency The Liebherr piling rig series with fixed and swinging leader includes 4 types featuring lifting capacities between 15 t and 8 t. When applied with fixed leader the LRH units achieve radii of up to 1 m and inclinations of up to 1:3, depending on the type of equipment. When working with swinging leader LRS inclinations of up to 1.3:1 are possible. 7 2 Liebherr Piling Rig LRH 1 Thanks to the special leader kinematics of the LRH 1 very large radii of up to 8.75 m and inclinations of up to 18 in all directions are achieved. Thus, a complete pile group can be installed from one location without repositioning the carrier machine. The rig can be transported in one piece with the hammer mounted and is consequently ready for operation on the jobsite in a much shorter period of time. With a transport length of 16.5 m and a height of 3.4 m, the unit's transport weight is only 66 t. The compact design of the basic machine with merely 3 m transport width allows for quick and cost-effective transportation. The flexible hammer design of the LRH 1 offers the possibility of mounting drop weights between 2.5 t and 7 t. This guarantees optimum adaptation to the required pile type, whether it is a timber pile, concrete pile or a heavy steel pile. 7

9 3 Powerful Equipment In order to ideally convert the rig's performance into high productivity, Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH offers a wide range of efficient hammers and vibrators for the LRH series. The motto is: "everything from one source". Thus, carrier machine and equipment are optimally matched and interfaces are avoided. 9

10 4 Litronic Control System The proven Liebherr Litronic control system optimally supports applications with leader. All relevant information, e.g. the leader inclination in X and Y direction, the pile driving depth and the operating data of the hammer or vibrator, is clearly displayed on the high-resolution monitor. The automatic control system allows for the vertical adjustment of the leader at the push of a button and for radius adjustment without changing the leader inclination. 1

12 5 Electronic Evaluation Quality assurance through process data recording (PDE) The process data is constantly measured during the working process. External sensors can also be connected to the system. Measurement data relevant to the working process is displayed on the monitor in the cabin. The operator can then control all processes and, if necessary, correct them. The data is stored by the system and can be transferred to a computer using a CompactFlash-Card. Evaluation and visualisation through process data reporting (PDR) The Liebherr software for process data reporting allows to further process the data on a PC, where they are directly stored, sorted and visualised. Thus, customer-specific evaluations can easily and quickly be created. 14 6 Reliable Service Permanent readiness for operation is a major prerequisite for a smooth and efficient application on the jobsite. Periods of standstill are enormously expensive and have to be reduced to a minimum. A tight network of service stations with qualified contacts and well-trained Liebherr service personnel guarantees quick assistance at any time and any location throughout the world. 14

15 Moreover, failures can be detected and sometimes directly repaired via GSM/ GPRS service modem and remote diagnosis. Software updates as well as maintenance work can be carried out with this modem. The periods of standstill are shortened and the rig is operational for a longer time.
