2 We feel confident in offering the GT brand as our recommended value brand of choice Following our recent discussions when reviewing our 2011 sales and business development with Giti Tire (UK) Ltd, I thought it may be of interest to hear why we feel confident to align with your company and why the partnership has grown so positively over the last 18 months. As you are aware we are a family run business that has been independent since inception over 40 years ago. Our primary business is and will remain retreading, but since making the decision to become a full service tyre dealer offering a complete range of products and services, we have found that there is often a conflict of interests with many new tyre manufacturers and/or contract management providers, due to preferential terms and rebates offered by some manufacturers. This can leave an independent such as ourselves marginalised in trying to deliver a premium service and product package that is not sustainable over the long term, as well as the end user potentially not receiving the best value in terms of total tyre cost of ownership. This, as you know is a differentiating benefit we always strive to deliver as an independent retreader through managing the new tyre over its entire new and retread lives to deliver best value to the end user. As Giti Truck & Bus operates a strategy of only supplying via selected quality independent tyre dealers, we feel confident in offering the GT brand as our recommended value brand of choice. Further, our own analysis along with that of our fleet customers, confirms that the GT new truck tyre consistently delivers real value in terms of a cost per mile which compares very favourably with many premium and mid-range brands we have had extensive experience of over many years. Finally, of course, the casing itself completes the value package through being of a consistent high grade for our retread process where we utilise a range of application specific tread products to further extend tyre life and reduce total operating costs for our end user and fleet customers. We look forward to further developing and strengthening our partnership to the mutual benefit of our two companies and of course, for the commercial vehicle operators we service. The savings made over the last year by using GT Radial on the fleet, plus the high acceptance and good residual value of the G T Radial casing has ratified the decision to specify GT Radial on the new trailers. This includes 10 new Mercedes 6 x 2 mid lift Actros 2545 MP4 Euro 5 utilising the latest in telematics technology. 5 Impressed by the performance, plus the re-treadability of the casing is an added bonus Having been a loyal user of a premium brand tyre for many years, we eventually decided to try one of the so called economy brands when the cost of a pair of 315/80 steer tyres exceeded 1K. That brand happened to be GT Radial as recommended by our retread supplier, and to our surprise the test proved that we could significantly reduce our tyre budget without compromising handling, wet grip performance and fuel economy. Since then we have utilised GT in a variety of wheel positions on both prime movers and trailers in both road and on-off road pattern and continue to be impressed by the performance, plus the re-treadability of the casing is an added bonus. We are consistently looking for savings to assist our company to reduce its operating costs and therefore staying competitive in the market and tyres are no exception, at the same time not reducing the quality or performance. Following my initial enquiry I met with Steve McDonald the Regional Sales Manager for the area and agreed to try their range of regional steer, drive and trailer products.
