Line Tester Workbook The line tester is very important tool for a person who works on electricity. In India the supply Voltage is 220 Volt. The electric line testers are designed to work on the specific voltage. (Teachers are advised to use cell/ battery for demonstration in class and after proper learning of safety measures, allow the students to test under personal supervision only). SANJAY SRIVASTAVA Electro Science Club
Write the differences between Electric Line Tester and Screw Driver. When the light of Electric Line Tester glows? Flag the different parts of a Electric Line Tester
How Electric Line Tester help us in electrical repairing and testing?. Demonstrate the working of Line Tester using Cell or Battery Using Cell Diagram Observation Report Using Battery Mention the Safety Precaution while working with Line Tester.
Under supervision of an adult test the wall outlets (Sockets) of your home and write the result of at least 3 sockets. On drawing column draw the socket and connected switch (indication the hole in which light glows with X. 1. Diagram Observation Report 2. 3.
1. There are Five holes in a wall outlet as shown in figure. Tryti wants to test the wall outlet with Line Tester. Please tell him that in how many hole of outlet he can get the Line Tester lamp glowing. 2. The hole/s in which the Line Tester light is glowing; the terminal of wall outlet (Socket) is know as Live Terminal/s Phase Terminal/s Hot Terminal/s All of above. 3. The hole/s in which the Line Tester light is not glowing; the terminal of wall outlet (Socket) is know as Hot Terminal/s Neutral Terminal Ground Terminal Phase Terminal 4. Pay attention on diagram shown. There are three pins. One pin is thicker than other two. What is the name of this pin? Hot Pin Neutral Pin Ground or Earth Pin Phase Pin 5. In two pin plug there are only two pins; which one is the right combination of pins Ground and Phase Ground and Neutral Phase And Neutral Hot and Live
6. Tryti used Electric Line Tester to test the wall outlet (Socket) but he found that the light of Electric Line Tester is not glowing but when he connected the appliance with wall outlet (Socket) its working. Check all the possible reasons for not glowing of light of Line Tester: The On/ Off switch of wall outlet (Socket) was off. It s impossible. There was no electricity when he tested the wall outlet (Socket). Not Glowing of light never means that wall outlet (Socket) is not working. Tryti not touched the metallic top of Line Tester. The light of Line Tester glows on 400Volt and above. He had not inserted the Line tester in the Phase terminal. Tryti had inserted the line tester in the Neutral terminal. Tryti had inserted the line tester in the Ground terminal. The Line Tester is defective. Nothing is impossible.
