General Introduction for the i-energy GT260 i-micro inverter System i-energy GT260 is designed with high transform efficiency, DC(PV panel) to AC(Grid) i-micro inverter. Each i-micro inverter is individually paired with a PV panel, which ensures each PV panel has its own MPPT, and can individually export AC power to grid utility. A recommended PV module should have 240W to 265W power output, to ensure that GT260 i-micro inverter can work with the best MPPT efficiency. GT260 i-micro inverter is a certificated, fully outdoor design with IP 65 protection level, it is recommended to mount the inverter near your PV panel with its rack. Aside from this manual, see for further support. The complete i-energy i-micro inverter system should be with i-manager, a web based PLC communication data login to monitor your i-micro inverter system. No beyond or out of limitation is allowed. i-micro inverter Installation Manual This specification defines the GT260 for 240W to 265W solar panels. The i-micro inverter is designed to be plugged between the solar panel and the power grid, and converts DC power into AC power. The i-micro inverter is used to quickly and easily connect the PV module to transfer source energy from the DC to AC circuit, then connect to the electrical utility grid or to energize the AC circuit. Installation Procedures Things to check before installing GT260: Please have your technician or installers to review the following items listed below before beginning the installation.
Item Check items 1 Read through the i-micro inverter input/output specifications and warning items. 2 Type of roof material qualified to install PV systems 3 Broadband connection is established/connected 4 Available Ethernet socket 5 Sufficient grid utility point Anyone who installs or replaces the i-micro inverter must be an authorized and licensed personnel, who can ensure the safety practice of a qualified assembly, installation or replacement. Do not disassemble the inverter s casing to prevent risks of electric shock and fire. Select a suitable PV panel with a short circuit current less than 12 Amp. For i-micro inverter installation to the rack and PV module, follow thekey steps below: Step 1- affix the i-micro inverters serial number to the i-energy System Mapping Guide found in the i-manager box. Step 2- Attach the i-micro inverter to the rack before connecting it to the PV module. Step 3- Connect the AC cables to each branch of the PV module system. Step 4- Connect the grounding system. Step 5- Connect the DC cables to each PV module. Step 6- Use the cable accessory to connect between the AC cables of i-micro inverter and the AC source. Step 7- When all of the installation steps have been completed, it is now safe to turn on the AC source to begin operation. Step1-- Affix the i-micro inverters Serial Number to the i-energy System Mapping Guide Found in the i-manager Box. Take i-micro inverter out of its box, and turn it over to find its serial number. a. Remove serial number sticker located directly below GT260 i-micro inverter label. b. Affix serial Number sticker to the i-energy System Mapping Guide
Fig. 1.1 Turn over i-micro inverter to see serial number Fig. 1.2 System Mapping Guide Please go to to download the i-energy System Mapping Guide if you don t have an i-manager, or if an additional i-energy System Mapping Guide is needed. Step 2 --Attach i-energy i-micro inverters to the Rack a. Take i-micro inverter out of the box, mount i-micro inverter onto the rack. Install mounting hardware. b. Use a M8 or M10mm size screw to fix the inverter. c. The gap distance between the roof surface and the back of the PV modules needs to be at least 1cm. Fig. 2.1 Mounting GT260 on racking.
1cm Fig. 2.2 The necessary gap for the i-micro inverter s back side. Recommended racking specifications can be found at by downloading the System racking guide. Step 3- Connecting to the Grounding System. a. Use a recommended grounding lug with a continuous ground wire, see Fig b. Grounding washers ( i.e. Wiley Electronics WEEB ). Suggested torque requirement is 18.5 N-m Minimum. Fig. 3.1 Grounding lay-in lug.
Fig. 3.2 Grounding washer. Note Grounding Regulations may vary by market, be sure to follow local grounding requirements. - Mounting Hardware - Mounting Washer - Grounding Hardware - Grounding Wire - DC Connection Cable - AC Connection Cable - Racking Note Inverters must be grounding according to related local standard. Note The lay-in lug from ILSCO (P/N: GBL-4DBT) or other certified products of equivalent or better quality can also be used. Step 4- Connecting the i-micro inverters AC Cable to the PV Module System. a. Connect adjacent i-micro inverters to each other through AC interconnection cables. b. Listen for a click as connectors engage. Make sure any unused i-micro inverter AC connector is covered with a sealing end cap. Do not exceed 17 pcs of i-micro inverters connected per branch.
Key Connecting Procedure for the AC grid cable Connecting Procedure Fig. 4.1 AC cable connection. Fig. 4.2 Connect the Male & Female AC connectors between each inverter, and the end cap on the last inverter at the end of the string. Step 5- Connecting the DC Cables of PV Modules a.
