Prophecy Coal Corporation (Vancouver) Executive Director: Mongolian Operations (Consulting Basis) Timeframe 2011 to 2012 Ronnie managed an operating surface mine supplying coal to the domestic market and exporting into Russia. He managed the project to establish a mine mouth 600 megawatt thermal power plant with the associated coal mine. When Mr van Eeden left the project, its status was that of the construction license for the power plant has being issued, an application being submitted for the construction of 210 kilometres of 220 kilovolts Page 2

3 overhead transmission lines, and the negotiations for the power purchase agreement with the Mongolian government had commenced. Sasol South Africa Consultant: Coal to Liquids Project (China) Timeframe 2010 to 2011 Mr van Eeden supported Sasol in the evaluation of the coal mines that would supply the coal for the coal to liquids plant, which was a Sasol project at the time. He supported Sasol in their negotiations with Chinese Shenua Coal for coal supply and assisted with the negotiations of the purchase agreement for the planned coal to liquids plant. As a Consultant to Sasol Mining in South Africa, he assisted in the evaluation and reporting on the Sasol Mining business plans to ensure the plans would support a sustained and viable supply of coal to the Sasol plants in South Africa. Eskom Primary Energy Division Consultant: Coal Contract and Mining Timeframe 2008 to 2010 Mr van Eeden was responsible for the management of five large cost-plus coal mines on behalf of Eskom. His responsibilities included ensuring mining is cost efficient, technically sound, and supplying the correct quantity and quality of coal to the tied coal fired power stations. CIC Energy Mining Director in CIC Energy Mining Division Timeframe 2006 to 2008 Ronnie conducted Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility studies for an approximately 10 million tonnes per annum coal mine in the southeastern part of Botswana. The coal mining project was to feed a 2,400 megawatt coal fired power station. The second phase of the project was to consider producing an export quality product. This included transport studies to reach either the East Coast or the west coast of Southern Africa. Haulgran Mining and Transport (Pty) Ltd Owner Timeframe 2001 to 2006 Mr van Eeden managed his own business, Haulgran Mining and Transport Pty (Ltd). Haulgran Mining and Transport was involved in the mining and transport of raw granite and consulting on an ad hoc basis. Page 3

5 Eskom Fuel Procurement General Manager: Fuel Procurement / Consulting Engineer (Business Development) / Technical Manager (Consulting Mining Engineer) / Senior Engineer Timeframe 1989 to 2000 Ronnie was responsible for managing the Fuel Procurement Business Unit. He was accountable for Eskom s primary energy supplies, embracing all coal supplies. This encompassed approximately 90 million tonnes of coal from nine major sources and several small sources, six of which were cost-plus mines. His Operational Management duties entailed ensuring reliable, cost effective, appropriate, and quality supplies at all times. Eskom holds equity stakes in all six cost-plus mining operations and as such the General Manager, Fuel Procurement is accountable to Eskom for these investments. His Strategic Management role included maintaining the capability to arrange new supplies as required, ensure planning to optimise tender processes, and contribute to Eskom s strategic planning. He interfaced with Senior Management of the mining houses and equipment suppliers. He assisted in ensuring power station customers receive reliable supply of coal with regards to quantity, quality, and cost. He ensured short-, medium- and long-term budgets were in place and executed. Mr van Eeden managed all technical services within Fuel Procurement for geology, environmental management, stockpiles, and production plan development. He managed the investigations, feasibility studies, negotiations, and implementation for all new projects. This included interim coal supply to Majuba Power Station, a 4,000 megawatt station, interim coal transport to Majuba, long-term coal transport feasibility study, and long-term coal supply to Majuba. Ronnie was responsible for the mining and engineering control on behalf of Eskom over New Denmark Colliery, Khutala Colliery, and Optimum Colliery. He ensured effective life of mine plans for each of the above collieries. He established developing mines as per agreed scope and tempo (Khutala and New Denmark collieries). Other responsibilities included: provisional cost information for the above collieries; life cycle management of mine equipment, improvement of the management of maintenance systems, and monitoring and maintenance of capability in terms of natural resources, manpower, and equipment requirements. Duties included the analysis and monitoring of engineering maintenance management on all Eskom-tied collieries, engineering budgets (including capital) analyses, agreement and control, inter colliery engineering performance comparisons, assessment of equipment purchases on replacements, providing engineering advice and backup, relating to collieries, to power station managers, and engineering technical inspections on collieries. 6 Ritz Bande Owner Timeframe 1987 to 1989 Mr van Eeden was responsible for the overall operations; including forecasting all stock requirements, stock level maintenance, and public relations. Spitzkop Colliery Assistant Mine Manager Timeframe 1984 to 1987 Ronnie s main duties included the total control of the mining operations and personnel. He was tasked with drawing up and controlling of budgets, acting as Mine Manager, enforcing safety and loss control, and implementing industrial relations policies. He was responsible for the calculation of mine coal reserves on an on-going basis, all mine planning that included the life of shafts and mine. Ronnie performed evaluations on mineable reserves, feasibility studies for pending mine reserves, control of the mine survey department; and training of mine personnel. Kriel Colliery Senior Technical Assistant: Mining Timeframe 1983 to 1984 At Kriel Colliery, Mr van Eeden gained experience in all aspects of mining at mid-management level. Cornelia Colliery Colliery Engineer Timeframe 1982 to 1983 Ronnie s duties included total control of the engineering functions for two underground shafts producing 3.6 million tonnes per annum. His duties included the control of equipment maintenance for coal production, transporting and conveying, as well as electrical power supply. He controlled the establishing costs, equipment and manpower requirements for total mine, as well as acting for Chief Engineer when he was on leave or absent. 7 Ronnie s main duties included working with artisans, electrical and mechanical work, and underground and surface duties. He also worked on the electrification of diesel electra-haul coal dump trucks, conveyor belt systems, and the coal benefaction plant. Ronnie acted as Section Engineer with various duties. He was responsible for the mine surface workshop and coal screening plant, control of all artisans, all engineering functions, plant and vehicle maintenance, housing maintenance, and ventilation fan maintenance. Ronnie was in charge of budget control of the underground section that included control of all engineering functions such as conveyers, crushers, sub-stations, coal producing equipment, and budgets. In the opencast section, his tasks included total control of all the engineering functions that included repairs, maintenance of dragline, coal shovels, coal haulers, conveyers, workshops, substations, mobile sub-stations, budget control, and staff control. SA Coal Estates Miner Timeframe 1975 to 1976 Kilbarchen Colliery Student Mine Official / Certified Assistant Surveyor Timeframe 1971 to 1976 During this period, Mr van Eeden was trained in actual mining and obtained a coal miners blasting certificate. Mr van Eeden s duties included underground surveying, installations, and control of mining directions and coordinates, production calculations, coal reserve calculations and estimates, surface surveying, levelling and plotting, and stockpile reserve calculations.
