3 HOW TO CHOOSE AN CONSIDERING YOUR NEEDS: Follow these three simple guidelines to choose the air compressor to best fit your needs: 1) Identify how you are going to use your air compressor: Stationary, large shop compressors work best for continuous, all-day use with multiple users; Portable compressors are specifically designed for intermittent, all-day construction use; Belt, Oil Lubed compressors work best for intermittent, heavy use with a single tool; Direct compressors are intended for occasional home, hobby, and workshop use. 2) Review the and SCFM requirements of your air tools/pneumatic nailers. 3) Choose a compressor that exceeds the and SCFM airflow requirements of your air tools so you re not under-powered. Best results are obtained when you purchase a compressor with 1-1/2 times more SCFM airflow than your air tools require. NOTE: All air tools are rated on an intermittent (start/stop) usage factor. Keep in mind that air tools such as grinders, sanders, and sandblasters are considered continuous running tools and require a larger air compressor that provides higher SCFM.
