That s why new technology such as augmented reality makes it possible to discuss complex subjects in a light-hearted way which is easy for those who are not especially technically or mechanically literate in terms of machinery to understand. We have acquired a virtual reality tool that can be used on tablets and smartphones. The machines key and strategic features can be looked at using several media (videos, animations, diagrams, drawings, photos, blueprints, etc.). Each medium is adapted to the subject so that it s easy to understand quickly without too much superfluous explanation. Image recognition or QR codes make it possible for clients to easily use the application, thereby getting more information about Breining and Secmair machines. Naturally, the features that differentiate our products from the competition are the ones that are especially highlighted. At Bauma China 2018, Bomag is dedicating an entire area to the topic of digitalization: at the digital corner, visitors can use virtual reality to find out more about Bomag s pioneering digital solutions, from the new Bomag 360 technology for the compaction of asphalt. In the digital corner, Bomag will demonstrate the technologies which are integrated into the famous yellow and black machines, ranging from light equipment to the heavy-duty asphalt paver model with 10 m paving width, and will show how digitalization is shaping the evolution of smart Construction Machine 4. In a virtual reality simulation, visitors will find out exactly how the Asphalt Manager and TanGO (tangential oscillation) compaction technologies work and where their strengths lie. Now users can choose from two exciter systems on the latest generation of asphalt rollers. This 360 technology concept makes compaction flexible and universally applicable. With technologies for asphalt construction and earthworks, at the digital corner visitors will see Bomag s ground-breaking solutions in action. Why is Magmalife, the screed heating system for asphalt pavers, as much as 25 percent faster than standard heating systems? How does Variocontrol automatically control the transfer of optimal power on single drum rollers, and prevent overcompaction? How does the proven Bomag Economizer ensure perfect results on soil and asphalt with vibratory plates, trench compactors, single drum rollers or asphalt rollers? Bomag supplies the answer to these questions at the digital corner with fascinating virtual insights into digital construction machinery the machines will of course be on show in reality on the stand. Dynapac Your partner on the digital road ahead Dynapac s documentation system records and maps stiffness and stiffness progress of the compacted layer in real-time as well as temperature and number of passes. A GNSS receiver is used for positioning. Positioning accuracy may be selected between Differential- GNSS (decimeter accuracy) or RTK- GNSS (cm accuracy) depending on site requirements. The Dyn@Lyzer can be used both as a quality control and assurance tool as well as a production tool to optimize the compaction efficiency. Dyn@Link With Dyn@Link, you can track your machines conveniently from the office, always knowing where they are and if they are running. The user can access machine information anytime, anywhere. By adding a pre-determined address, the system automatically notifies the user when a machine enters or leaves a predefined geographical area. Thanks to this geofence function within Dyn@Link, it is very convenient to keep track of machines, even when not logged in to the webpage. TruckAssist Dynapac s TruckAssist system is designed to help trucks safely and correctly dock with the paver by simplifying communication between the paver and truck driver. The system is comprised of two sturdy, dimmable LED bars which are strategically positioned on both hopper edges. The LED bars allow safe, efficient communication between the drivers of the paver and the truck, and enable the driver of the paver to remain in control of the truck docking process at all times. SetAssist Specifically designed to reduce setting and transport times on the jobsite, Dynapac s intelligently controlled SetAssist system is especially useful where there is a large amount of spot work involved. The driver of the paver now has the possibility to save the position of the auger and screed before moving from one paving section to the next. With one push of a button on the redesigned operator s panel, the hydraulic front flap, screed and auger are locked for transport and the conveyor is reversed slightly. MatManager The paving quality system MatManager keeps track of your material consumption with real-time measurements to ensure that you are on target and eliminate material overruns. The MatManager system uses a range of different input sensors mounted on the asphalt paver to measure and calculate key paving parameters. 10 PRODUCTS &SERVICES FRT full recycling asphalt mixing plant The new standard of stationary plant for China market FRT asphalt mixing plant is a new product recently developed by marini china. frt stands for «full recycling technology, with recycling rate ranging from 0% to 70%. Now it has become the new standard recycling stationary asphalt plant around city areas for the Chinese market. After the high speed and large scale road construction development in the past decades, most of the China s asphalt roads are entering maintenance stage. This new product will not only provide a good solution to the customers but also pave a new way for Marini China s product sales with flexible selections. Compared with the conventional recycling, this new product offers the following advantages: Minimize RAP sticking problem by changing structural design. The mixer is placed under the RAP dryer drum instead of in the mixing tower, to avoid RAP sticking. The parallel drum heating system with a capacity of 190tph gives full power to high percentage hot recycling mixing. High and stable recycling capacity: by using the 6-ton mixer on the MAC 360 plant platform, even with modification bitumen or high recycling rate, the plant will be able keep enough output. RAP directly into the mixer: another feature of the new product, recycling rate 0-30%. Optimized structure: By optimized structural design, the plant s overall height is lowered. It provides convenience for erection and easy access for maintenance, and it is thus cost efficient. Interface for various extensions are provided: warm mixing system, fiber additional system, etc. Design for City Type model is also available: it will become the standard project of stationary plant around city areas. The use of RAP in different regions of China varies based on different economic development levels. In some more developed areas such as Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province, recycling rate have reached 100% as required by the local authorities. Whereas inland areas or some southern provinces are still at the White-to-Black stage, switching from concrete paved road to asphalt paved road. Local authorities have not yet set any standards on recycling of asphalt material. Therefore, FRT plant has its major market in eastern China, especially coastal areas. 11 products & services A B C D E F G MAT440 large capacity asphalt mixing plant The new choice for highway construction As the Chinese government continuously increases its investment effort in infrastructure construction, many road building projects emerged in a short period of time, facing pressures such as tight development schedule and high standards. Therefore, the use of two mixing plants, producing asphalt at the same time, thus compensating the capacity limitation of a single mixing plant, has been the natural choice. Apart from highways construction, big municipal construction companies also need large production capacity for their «standard» jobs. Municipal roads have to stay open for traffic during daytime; consequently construction or rehabilitation jobs have to be carried out during nighttime from 12:00am to 5:00am. The time pressure for such jobs requires large asphalt output and material supply during very short periods of time. Traditional medium size mixing plants fall short from meeting such huge output demand. Therefore, a large capacity mixing plant such as MAT 440 provides a perfect solution. One of our municipal customer Xuchang Tengfei Construction Co., Ltd. is a good example of such application. Our MAT 440 ensured an efficient solution for their municipal jobs. Different cities may have different standards on material and aggregate grading. Some customers may need to add recycling or new technology applications such as foamed bitumen or fiber additive. MAT 440 s reserved interfaces provide the flexibility for future extensions. Meanwhile, since environmental issues are very urgent in the current China market, environmental options are usually necessary for city stationary mixing plants. It is a positive and swift response to the development of the Chinese mixing plant market. Production capacity reaches up to 440 tph, provided if moisture rate is normal or with AC-25 grading. The Marini MAT 440 mixing plant has inherited all the wellknown features of the Marini brand, i.e. reliability, high efficiency, ensured capacity and stable performance. 12 products & services Marini Environmental Solutions Meeting the strictest standards In 2018, the Chinese national environmental control measures are further tightened. The bar for environment protection and emission is set higher, particularly in road construction industry. In some areas, I n order to meet the market s environmental challenge and based on the analysis of the mixing plant pollutants, with many years of experience and deep know-how in asphalt mixing technology, Marini China developed effective environmental solutions to tackle the major issues. it is even required to use low nitrogen burners for bitumen tank heaters. Noise pollution Noises are produced during different stages of the asphalt mix production. For example, noise from aggregates washing inside the drying drum, noise from the fans, mechanical noise from operations. Solution 1: overall cladding or housing. An overall structure covers the main tower or all of the plant area, and keep the noise inside. Solution 2: burner noise muffle. Using noise muffle that is designed to suit the CBS burner, effectively reduce noise caused by the burner fan. Dust pollution Dust diffusion is mainly from the mix discharge, cold aggregate bins, conveyors and refuse bin. Measure 1: air inducing system and full housing of the truck loading passage. Dust diffused from discharge of asphalt mix are retained inside the housing and sucked by the air inducing system. Measure 2: air inducing system at the spillage silo. Adding air inducing system at the refuse bin to contain the dust level to the minimum. Measure 3: aggregate conveyer cover and air inducing. As per the customer s different needs, we provide 2 options: Option 1, full housing of the cold aggregate area with air inducing at key points. It has the advantage of providing easy access for maintenance; Option 2, cladding of the conveyer belt, simple and practical. Measure 4: Cold aggregate silo and air inducing. Adding housing and cover to the cold material area and adding air inducing system. Measure 5: dust filter. Dust filter processes the dust released during the whole production process and improve air quality inside the passage ways. City type Blue smoke Smoke produced during the heating of bitumen tank is one of the most key pollutants. In order to effectively process the blue smoke, Marini provide three types of solution: absorption by activated carbon, plasma decomposition and UV photodecomposition. Each solution has its own advantages and different cost. The customer can choose a combination of the three solutions based on their particular project needs and financial situations, to maximize the effect of reducing blue smoke. Marini will design practical and reasonable environmental solutions for its customer based on the customer s need, and maximize the treatment of pollutants, to meet the strictest environmental standards by different customers and areas. 13 products & services Slurry seal and micro surfacing: A modern solution for road maintenance Slurry seal and micro surfacing are cold-mix paving systems that restore existing roads asphalt layers skid resistance, waterproofing and sealing their surfaces. A powerful and economical 140kW Deutz engine drives the track paver. Compared to other mounting systems on the market, paver crews are back on the road in half the time thanks to Bomag s quick coupling attachment system. The Magmalife heating screed technology from Bomag uses electric heating elements which are embedded in aluminium. Because of the good heat conductivity, the screed plates heat up quickly and evenly to the operating temperature in just 25 minutes. Magmalife is 25% faster than conventional screed heating systems. With the screed plates, Bomag also ups the ante: They provide perfect conditions for high pre-compaction of up to 94% with powerful tamper and vibration units, the frequency being infinitely adjustable. The patented Bomag Sideview system is the solution: Seat and operating console on the BF 800 C-2 form a single unit, which means the entire driver s stand can be moved sideways. This gives the operator a clear view of the machine edge, the auger and the screed, he is therefore able to maintain visual contact with the truck driver. In addition, there is an ergonomic operating console which can be adjusted in height and features logically arranged controls. 16 products & services TanGO 4 The tangential oscillation technology developed by Bomag Asphalt compaction is a job for specialists, because every job site is different. That s why Bomag provides their customers with the choice of three different compaction systems. Double vibration is the conventional choice. With two amplitudes and individually functioning drums, this technology covers a wide range of applications. Bomag quality is given and the equipment options are designed to match every type of job requirement. The Asphalt Manager is used when maximum versatility is needed. Users just have to input the layer thickness and work is than controlled and registered by the Asphalt Manager: subsoil, degree of compaction, temperature, and control of the direction of vibration. The driver just concentrates on the rolling pattern and the other operators in a team operation. Bomag TanGO4 Tangential oscillation used wherever sensitive compaction is required The third technology Bomag developed is TanGO4. Tangential oscillation is used wherever sensitive compaction is required. Plus, the drums are highly wear resistant so that a factory warranty of 6,000 operating hours is provided. Because of its safe compaction, e.g. on seams (hot to cold), on bridges, or near buildings, TanGO is the best choice for jobs where sensitive compaction is needed. At the same time, the system is extremely easy to operate: There is only one amplitude which is ideal for any application. This is why Bomag tandem rollers with TanGO always compact with care. The drum cannot bounce, because TanGO always works tangentially to the surface. This has two advantages: On the one hand, the action does not cause aggregates to be crushed; on the other hand, no waves are generated, even at higher working speeds. The TanGO drum is at the rear of the machine so that the front vibratory drum, which is equipped with two-stage vibration, can be used to compact thicker layers or heavier mixes. In TanGO compaction with two exciter shafts rotating in the same direction, torque is generated around the drum axis. The drum quickly keeps alternating its effective direction tangentially to its contact surface (forward and backwards). This means the surface is practically compacted with double frequency. TanGO therefore offers a longer rolling time window than standard machines. Dynamic compaction can also be carried out on cooler asphalt below 80 C, because no aggregate is crushed. In contrast to conventional oscillation rollers, the unbalanced masses in TanGO are right at the edge, i.e. tangentially arranged to the circumference. Greater leverage means the eccentric weights can be smaller. This clever use of physics means that TanGO requires considerably less output power than standard oscillation systems. Therefore, TanGO consumes on average 1.1l/h less fuel than other oscillation rollers. 17 products & services BW single drum roller The new climbing expert from Bomag Bomag launched the BW single drum roller in Europe in June This new generation model is ideally suited for earthwork applications due to excellent gradeability and off-road performance, plus flexible compaction power using two amplitudes. New features include the super-safe driver s platform with 4-post Roll Over Protection Structure (ROPS/FOPS) and ergonomic travel lever controls for the optional dozer blades. On request, this model is now available with the intuitive Bomag Economizer, which measures compaction. Bomag has upgraded this single drum roller to comply with current exhaust classification Tier 4, and to follow the new series design. The optional dozer blade with tilt function is operated using the BW travel lever The BW single drum roller is available with a smooth or padfoot drum and is ideal for a range of earthworks compaction applications, such as backfill to structures, landscaping, or trench and pipeline construction. The BW is also ideal for inner-city work. For surface compaction or in-depth compaction, there is a choice of two amplitudes, providing perfect alignment of compaction force to the soil type. This results in high-quality and cost-effective compaction. With significantly larger surface coverage, single drum rollers are a serious alternative to vibratory plates. This is the only single drum model in this weight class, the BW features double pump drive and a limited slip differential axle. The high torque drive provides excellent gradeability and off-road performance up to 55 percent or 29 degrees. The powerful 34 kw Kubota drive meets Tier 4 emissions standards. The driver s platform has been redesigned and improved: The new 4-post ROPS/FOPS provides the operator with a perfect all-round view for fast and safe handling. Use of the optional dozer blade has been simplified. Instead of operation with the foot pedal, the driver now activates the blade using the multifunctional travel lever. The optional dozer blade is available with up/down function (standard) and float position or with tilt function. This has extended the range of applications to include distribution, profiling and levelling; commonplace work in horticulture and landscaping. 18 products & services The Bomag BMF 2500 feeder for greater paving efficiency The BMF 2500 feeder produces uniform and constant delivery of the mix to the asphalt paver, which reduces paving times and improves the quality of finished work. The BMF 2500 is available in three models since January Bomag new BMF 2500 feeder Outstanding features High output Compact design On asphalt work, constant material feed from the screed and uniform pre-compaction of material are the most important factors for high quality paving. Feeders optimize material delivery by quickly processing the incoming material from the truck and conveying it at a constant rate without contact with the paver. Outstanding features of the new Bomag BMF 2500 feeder are its high output and compact design. The unit can handle a 27-tonne lorry load of crushed rock, sand or asphalt in only 35 seconds. At the same time the vehicle width of only 2.55 m is narrow enough for transport without special permit. EcoMode reduces the engine speed depending on the job requirement to save fuel. The conveyor belt on the Bomag BMF 2500 feeder has a width of 1.2 m and gives optimum material flow with minimal segregation. In addition, the rubber belt is mounted on metal struts. These prevent the belt from stretching with hot asphalt. Re-tensioning the belt is no longer necessary and material feeding becomes safer. The BMF 2500 has a large material hopper with individually controllable wings for quick discharge and slewing bumper rollers to safely dock the supply truck. The base model BMF 2500 feeder can be supplemented with a slewable belt. The slewing belt allows lateral feeding. This way, one machine can supply two pavers. The offset belt can be readily mounted and removed. When not needed, the belt can be removed quickly, and unnecessary wear is avoided. The driver s seat on the BMF 2500 can be swivelled out by 90 degrees and provides the machine operator with a clear view of the supply truck and the paver. Distance sensors allow the BMF 2500 to be operated fully automatically. Automatic steering using a guide wire is available as an option. The machine stays on course while the operator concentrates on the delivery truck. The seat can be swivelled out by 90 degrees which allows clear visibility to the front and back. A second station for an operator at ground level is located on the side wall. A weather proofed laptop docking station is also provided. The Bomag BMF 2500 feeder is available in three versions. BMF 2500 S is the base model. This unit can feed all pavers and can be supplemented with a slewable offset belt. The BMF 2500 S Offset, on the other hand, offers the slewable offset conveyor belt as standard. The BMF 2500 M has a longer, heightadjustable conveyor belt. For the large asphalt rollers, Dynapac has offered an offset for quite some time now. This method combines a unique combination of articulated steering with a steerable rear drum. Generation VI however has taken the offset one step further: The offset for the CC4000VI - CC5200VI has been increased to 520 mm and now uses the front drum for offset, providing for even better driving accuracy. The increased offset allows for a very small turning radius. The front drum offset also allows for excellent control of the front drum edges and the operator can follow a curb or other obstacles with a high degree of accuracy. Introducing fiberglasses into a standard chipseal or into an emulsion bond coat is more and more used everywhere in the world. What is the principle? A crack and fatigue resistant surfacing characterised by its enhanced tensile strength and flexibility. This surfacing is composed by bitumen emulsion, chopped fiberglass and aggregates. The new process consists in spraying fiberglasses and emulsion in the same time. China introduced fiberglasses in 2009 and the technology was spread into Asia, South America during the following years. Nowadays Mexico is one of the country where the fiberglass technology is developed with a big success especially on roads with high traffic. Introducing microsurfacing on top of the layer of chipseal with fiberglass, the Mexican roads are very well maintained at a reasonable price for a long time and with an eco friendly way. 28 JOB REPORTS Bomag RS 500 recycler: Railroad regeneration The extension of the rail link of the Saxon-Franconian trunk line, realised by Hasselmann GmbH, is supported by several Bomag machines. On the construction section Markkleeberg-Gaschwitz - Großdeuben, the area to be stabilised is around 100,000m. The RS 500 rotor, which is shifted to the right, is clearly visible and allows reliable mixing of the prescribed soil layer right up to the edge of the embankment Bomag RS 500: highly manoeuvrable, quickly avoiding numerous building components The aims of the Saxon-Franconian trunk line extension project are the fundamental renewal and optimisation of the track plans and the modernisation of the control command and safety systems. The section Markkleeberg-Gaschwitz - Großdeuben includes new track construction over a length of approximately 12 kilometres, construction of the track bed, new installation of the overhead cable systems, construction of platforms, railway bridges, and a pedestrian underpass. Approval of the route is planned for the end of A well-established earthwork quartet was deployed for the job: two Bomag BW 213 BVC single drum rollers, a BW 24 RH pneumatic tyred roller, and an RS 500 recycler/stabilizer. The RS 500 is primarily used to improve the loadbearing capacity and soil of the foundation engineering. The foundation of the qualified soil improvement consists of two layers. In this way, it is possible to carry out soil improvement at high-quality using the resources available on site. Since March of this year, Bomag rollers have been in operation on the second largest construction site in Europe - the «Stuttgart 21» rail project. Adding graphene to asphalt significantly improves the durability and sustainability of asphalt road surfaces, making the asphalt less likely to soften in warm temperatures or harden and crack in cold ones. The additive increases the elasticity and strength of the asphalt, thus reducing road wear, particularly under high loads. Guangxi University and Guangxi Zhenglu Machinery Technology Co.
