7 OXYGENATE STANDARDS The Clean Air Act of 1995 mandated the use of Reformulated Gasoline in designated areas of the country. The EPA designated two ASTM Methods for the analysis of Oxygenates in Gasoline and the use of a Five Point Calibration Set with DME as the Internal Standard. 10 GASOLINE REFERENCE STANDARDS In early 1996 we conducted an Inter-Laboratory study on a California Phase II Gasoline. The object of the study was to provide a well analyzed standard for checking calibrations and for use in SQC Programs. A total of 25 refinery laboratories participated and the results were statistically analyzed and the mean reported. The Gasoline is packaged in 25 ml glass ampoules under an argon atmosphere. 12 CALIBRATION STANDARDS FOR INFRARED ANALYZERS Infrared Analyzers provide rapid and accurate analysis that can replace the expense and time delay of laboratory analysis. They are used to determine the Gasoline Oxygenate content to ensure product quality and compliance with regulatory authorities.
