12 Prakata Laporan statistik ini ialah statistik keempat dihasilkan oleh Seksyen Perkhidmatan Penyelidikan, Bahagian Perkhidmatan Penyelidikan & Maklumat, Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad, Universiti Putra Malaysia. Pengumpulan data untuk penerbitan statistik ini telah dijalankan pada Januari Sumber data yang digunakan ialah data daripada pangkalan data Scopus yang diterbitkan oleh Elsevier. Ia meliputi data penerbitan UPM yang diterbitkan bagi tahun 2010 hingga Kata kunci yang digunakan dalam carian ialah "Universiti Putra Malaysia" yang dihadkan kepada penerbitan tahun sahaja. Mudah-mudahan, laporan statistik ini akan membantu penyelidik mengetahui secara umum prestasi penerbitan UPM. Citation - A list of references or a bibliography cited by the author, usually listed at the end of work. Another term used is reference. b. H-indeks - Jumlah petikan yang diterima oleh seorang pengarang berbanding jumlah penerbitan. Sebagai contoh, H-indeks 3, bermakna 3 daripada penerbitan menerima sekurang-kurangnya tiga petikan. H-indeks juga boleh digunakan untuk jurnal, institusi dan negara. b. H-index - The number of citations received by an author compared to the number of publications.
