12 Local wind layers established by orography: Aerosol dispersion affected by wind turbulence at mountain site on 26th July Extended detection range by application of spatial LiDAR: HSRL base unit used in the EARLI09 campaign in Leipzig. This system is going to be upgraded for continuous application. Pivoting High Spectral Resolution Lidar (HSRL) for standardized longterm application. Suitable for spatial aerosol detection up to and for determination of aerosol extinction coefficients at daylight. (Requirement for Satellite Validation!) The system will determine three wavelengths: 355 nm, 532 nm and 1064 nm Longterm aerosol measurements by a LiDAR (532 nm up to 45 km) and a LiDAR at UFS site (817 nm) will complement aerosol data.
