40 References Auxiliary Power S/Y Lethantia At a glance Ship S/Y Lethantia Type Schooner by Royal Huisman LOA 43.95m, LWL 30m, 225 tons OEM MME Germany Commissioned July 2012 Fuel Diesel Technologies 1 Capstone Liquid Fuel C30 turbine is installed as onboard genset providing power and heat for the sailing yacht Lethantia. The turbine is re-packaged to accomodate in the engine room and to meet the unique style of the ship. The heat is captured in a custom designed stainless steel heat exchanger to produce hot water. The clean and quiet Capstone turbine technology enchances the ships onboard comfort for its guests. It also allows the Lethantia to maintain using her onboard power when she is in the marina.

The two propulsion engines of the ship run on a mixture of diesel and LNG. The captured heat from the turbines exhaust is used in the LNG vaporizer. The remaining heat is for comfort in the living quarters and hot domestic water. The clean Capstone turbine technology contributes to the ships overall low emissions. Making the MTS Argonon the cleanest of its kind.

The former fire fighting and training ship has a dual series hybrid propulsion system. The two 50 kwe asynchronious water cooled electric motors are directly connected to the propellor shaft to increase efficiency. The 540V LiFePO4 battery pack with management system has a 21kWh capacity. The power output of the turbine is used to charge the batteries or used directly for the motors. This is controlled by the ships power management system.
