5 FEATURES Fuel calibration : +200%/-100% (0.1% resolution) PowerTRONIC comes with pre-mapped optimal bike specific fuel maps and needs no further tuning; using RTune, you have complete control over fuel delivery and allows fuel injection to be handled easily and accurately supporting any modification from exhaust/intake upgrades to big bore kits and extreme turbo applications. Extendable Rev-limit With a fully programmable rev- limit as standard, PoweTRONIC gives you the additional revs when you need it whether it s a long flowing corner or to bring the engine right back into the powerband on the upshift. Plug-in OEM Connectors Increasing performance has never been easier! The included bike specific wiring harness plugs-in within minutes and requires no cutting or soldering of wires. The latest PowerTRONIC series uses just two sets of connectors to control ignition and injection signals. Intelligent algorithms sense engine load from injector pulse-width and does away with a third TPS (Throttle Position) signal. TPS is provided as an optional connection. We re continuously working to develop the best possible map for a given upgrade with dyno tested results and track proven performance. Visit the downloads section for available options. Traction Control PowerTRONIC uses fast-analysis logic on real-time RPM data to ascertain loss of traction. It then employs lag-less corrective strategy to control torque output to give you a seamless riding experience. For the pro-rider, the traction map is fully programmable and works with ignition cut and ignition retard. The traction slip is sensed in two user selectable methods: The current RPM is compared with previous RPM and if the percentage difference is higher than the percent set on the map, it is recognised as slip. The rate of change of rpm is calculated to a an equivalent equation of allowed acceleration measured by rpm_increase/sec, the threshold of which is set by the user. If exceeded, it is recognized as slip. This method does not look at previous RPMs for reference. Once slip is recognized, one can set a retard of 1 to 25 deg in ignition to seamlessly reduce power or cut power altogether. 8 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS PowerTRONIC is a piggyback ECU, which plugs into the original vehicle harness to control the primary parameters of an EFI system - fuel injection and ignition control system. 9 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Ensure correct polarity of connectors on injectors and ignition coil. Although we have tested them, we have seen cases where the American variants have different polarities as compared to European, Asian and Australian versions. Ground terminal has to be connected to a secure ground - battery, or a clean frame point. We have also provided a stock coupler, which can be used to hard-wire the system back to original configuration. Post installation if the engine starts with the stock coupler, it only means the physical connections are secure, it does not mean the polarity of the connectors are right. It is important that you check polarity and orientation on all connectors. Exercise caution which connecting the connectors as some connectors can fit in both ways if forced. The engine is a highly dynamics system, so expect the signals, noise, RPM, etc. to stray away from ideal behavior. The fuel map should be set by using a wideband AFR/lambda gauge. The best power AFR/lambda is vehicle and engine dependent and is usually between an AFR of 12.2 to The more stressed an engine (higher HP/cc), the richer you may have to run. Most vehicles show maximum gain with the ignition advanced between 2 to 6 degrees. Start with 2 and gradually keep increasing by 1 degree till the power stabilises. Use the least amount of ignition advance that delivers maximum power. The user interface has the tabs Send, Receive and Burn. All changes made when you Receive and Send are updated live - with the engine running. Burn makes the changes permanent and will reboot the ECU. It is recommended to turn the vehicle off (with the PowerTRONIC-USB connected to PC) and then click the Burn command. Trademarks are property of respective owners. 9

10 TROUBLESHOOTING If the bike does not start at all : a) Incorrect polarity of connectors, maybe just on one connector. b) Wrong noise filter value - connect to R-Tune software and set noise filter value to 0 or 2 and check. c) Ground connection to ECU not secure. d) Remove connections one by one and check if the problem is isolated to one connection or overall.
