2 2 The Chemlink team are proud to announce that we are now Roundtable On Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) members. This is an important step for Chemlink Specialities Ltd, as the sourcing and use of sustainable palm oil in our industry is of paramount importance to our company as well as our customers. The RSPO was formed in 2002 when an informal co-op between WWF, Aarhus United UK Ltd, Migros, Malaysian Palm Oil Association and Unilever was arranged. Since then the not-for-profit group has gone from strength to strength, today boasting nearly 4,000 members. The aim of RSPO is to improve the social and environmental sustainability of palm oil production and to make sustainable palm oil the norm. To certify as a member, Chemlink Specialities Ltd has shown evidence of our internal environmental and social criteria which is in-line with RSPO values. We are dedicated to training our team members, empowering them with the information they need to help our customers utilise as much sustainable palm oil as possible. We share the RSPO s vision for sustainable palm oil to be the norm in our industry, and we hope our customers will continue to support us in these efforts. Did you know, only 19% of palm oil in use today is RSPO certified? This is a statistic that can be improved upon greatly by the actions of dedicated people working within the cosmetic and HI&I industries. Another surprising statistic is that only around half of Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) produced is actually sold and used. One of the main reasons for this is that manufacturers aren t aware of how easy it is to buy and use in their formulations. So that s where Chemlink Specialities Ltd step in.
