2 SETTING OUT YOUR CARTS SET OUT CARTS BY 7 A.M. Place your carts and bins curbside no earlier than 5:00 a.m. and no later than 7:00 a.m. on your collection day. Waste service vehicles will not return to a household that has their carts placed out late. SPACING Ensure at least 1 metre (3 feet) of space around each cart, 3 metres (10 feet) of clearance above the cart and 1.5 metres (5 feet) from parked vehicles. If you have multiple carts, ensure they are spaced correctly. Never place carts closer than 1metre (3 feet) to any object (such as a light pole, fence, car, hydrant, tree or other cart). If your cart is blocked or does not have required spacing, your cart may not be serviced. -1-i 3m 1.5m 1m AT THE CURB Place the cart so that it opens toward the street-the arrow on the lid should point toward the centre of the lane or street. 3 GARBAGE COLLECTION GARBAGE IS COLLECTED BI-WEEKLY ON CALENDAR DAYS COLOURED ORANGE GARBAGE GUIDELINES Only acceptable waste in standard city 242 litre or 120 litre wheeled cart with bear resistant locks. Please bag all garbage. Double bag pet waste, pet litter packing pellets, vacuum dust, sawdust and cold ashes. PLACING AT CURBSIDE Remember to unclip your bear-resistant locks on collection day Place cart at the curb so that the lid opens towards the street (the arrow on the lid should point to the street) Ensure the cart is at least 1 metre away from any obstacle (blue boxes, vehicles) and that there is 3 metres of clearance above the cart Remember to unclip your locks on collection day.
