5 An available Continuously Variable Automatic Transaxle (CVT2L) has a deep off-road ratio to help Patriot through water fording, rock crawling and descending steep grades. Patriot s available 4WD lockable Electronically Controlled Coupling (ECC) helps provide true 4WD capability. When the T-shaped handle labelled 4WD LOCK is engaged at speeds below 40 km/h, the electronically controlled coupling sends up to 60% of maximum torque to the rear axle for improved low-speed traction. The 2.4L VVT World Engine combines Variable Valve Timing (VVT) and intake manifold flow control valves with dual overhead camshafts, balance shafts, four valves per cylinder and high compression for loads of power, fuel economy and smooth, quiet operation. An available Tire Pressure Monitoring System sends data from transmitters in each valve stem to a monitoring display.
