2 MODEL OVERVIEW 2012 & STI STI Sport-tech Package shown The suspension tuning of the STI is directly based on the suspension of the STI spec. C, a competition spec STI sold exclusively in the Japanese domestic market. Despite similar sheet metal, the STI has additional structural reinforcements throughout the body compared to the for even better handling. Due to improved aerodynamics, courtesy of the large rear spoiler, the STI 4-door has a higher top speed than the STI 5-door (255 km/h vs. 250 km/h). All STI models are equipped with new 18-inch Enkei cast aluminum alloy wheels that weigh 2 kg less than the previous standard wheel. This contributes to better handling and steering feel. The squared-off lower air intake and front bumper have been designed to make the STI look wide and low. Fog lights are standard on the STI Sport-tech Package for excellent nighttime illumination and an aggressive appearance. Dark metallic trim on the instrument panel gives the interior a richer yet more aggressive look. All STI models are equipped with a short throw close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission for a more dynamic and rewarding driving experience. With the multi-mode Driver Controlled Centre Differential AWD system, multi-mode VDC and SI-DRIVE, the STI s driving characteristics can be adjusted based on changing conditions rain, snow or shine. Leather and Alcantara seats hold occupants firmly in place when taking corners with enthusiasm.
