3 THE ESSENCE OF VITRA A HISTORY OF INNOVATION VitrA s rich heritage can be traced back to 1909, when renowned Turkish pharmacist Süleyman Ferit Eczacıbaşı began producing bathing and cologne products at his pharmacy in Izmir. Thirty years on, his son Dr Nejat Eczacıbaşı continued the family s flair for innovation by establishing a pharmaceutical laboratory in Istanbul. This business grew rapidly and in 1952 he opened the first Turkish modern pharmaceutical plant. Within the decade Eczacıbaşı s vision had grown to encompass ceramic sanitaryware and in 1958 he created the first centre for its production in Turkey. VitrA was born. The benefits are not just aesthetic: here are some practical reasons for choosing a VitrA wall-hung WC and concealed solution. QUALITY & ASSURANCE 100% RELIABILITY AND PERFORMANCE VitrA's concealed cisterns and frames are subjected to rigorous reliability and performance testing at VitrA's production facilities. 1 INTERVAL TAP An interval tap is supplied pre-installed to the cistern. If maintenance is required, isolating the water flow is easily accessed, allowing repairs to be carried out. 1 5 CONTROL PANEL The control panel is the component that operates the cistern. The panel can easily be removed for maintenance purposes. CONCEALED CISTERNS HYGIENIC Keeping a bathroom clean and hygienic is made easier with wall-hung sanitaryware. All unsightly pipe work, a haven for dirt and dust, is hidden behind the wall and the WC is lifted from the floor, providing a smoother and easier cleaning area. SPACE-SAVING A wall-hung WC solution takes up less room than a conventional WC and the concealed installation offers flexibility in confined spaces. PRACTICAL & QUICK INSTALLATION Installation of the concealed frame is quick and easy because of its intuitive design, especially advantageous for multiple installations. OVERFLOW TESTING The overflow pipe located within the valve is the product s safety device. The pipe s performance is tested according to the standards of water flow. FLOW RATE TESTING The amount of water used during flushing is predetermined to meet industry standards. If the cistern is not flushed at the required flow rate, the WC pan may not be cleaned properly. As a result, the products must pass a quality control test according to the flow rate (2L/second) set by international standards. PERFORMANCE TEST All products are subjected to rigorous performance testing at VitrA s production facilities. Products are tested to ensure that they operate flawlessly before they can be passed. STRENGTH AND STABILITY Concealed frames and wall-hung WC pans have been designed to support weights of up to 400kg. LEAK DETECTION TESTING We test each and every cistern individually to ensure that it is 100% watertight. LONGEVITY TEST Our products are periodically tested for longevity according to international standards. Not one of the product s components demonstrated a drop in performance after being consecutively tested 200,000 times. 2 PANEL OPENING The panel opening on the body of the cistern provides easy access to the components and has been designed with an optimum opening size to ensure that maintenance of the product can easily be carried out. 3 STYROFOAM COATING The bottom section of the cistern is completely coated with styrofoam which prevents condensation and also provides improved sound insulation. 4 FLUSHING UNITS The most important component of the cistern is the flushing unit responsible for ensuring the flow of water from the cistern into the WC pan.
