With runflat technology. The sidewalls of the tyres are specially reinforced and made of an extremely heat-resistant rubber compound. Together with humps on the rim, this prevents the tyre from detaching after a complete loss of pressure, even when cornering. As a result, there is no need to change the wheel. Depending on the load you are carrying, you can keep going at speeds of up to 50 mph for a further 50 miles. A STAR PERFORMER. 38 COMMUNICATION AND TECHNOLOGY. MINI HEAD-UP SCREEN. The Head-Up Screen is a new and innovative product that displays various car and navigation information on a transparent screen. The screen is installed on the dashboard and is positioned at the height of the steering wheel. All of the information is therefore in the driver's direct line of vision. The Head-Up Screen has an integrated smartphone interface. As a result,information from smartphone apps can also be displayed. Garmin, as a navigation specialist, offers a matching navigation application. As a result, next to the relevant vehicle data, the Head-Up Screen also displays navigation information. All of the settings can also be carried out via the free-of-charge Head-Up Screen app. The Head-Up Screen can be retrofitted to virtuallyall MINI cars. The innovative Head-Up Screen offers the driver two corefunctions: display of current vehicle information and navigation. The information on the Head-Up Screen is very easy to read even in direct sunlight. During the hours of darkness,the display adjusts the brightness automatically downwardsin the same way as for the dashboard instruments. The frame of the Head-Up Screen in sophisticated blackdoes not reflect sunlight, preventing the driver from beingdazzled. 41 CHILD SEATS. MINI baby and junior seats are soft and comfortable in everyday use, the integrated air pads provide additional protection in the event of side impact. ISOFIX technology makes the seat exceptionally safe because it eliminates the risk of the seat being incorrectly fitted in the vehicle. The covers are removable and washable at 30 C. You can choose between the powerful fashion shade Vivid Green or the traditional Union Jack in a modern look. The MINI logo is printed on the outside of this high quality seat and has been set so that it is clearly visible outside the car too. The price does not include fitting and is the responsibility of the vehicle owner. Each retailer can offer a fully trained technician to provide guidance and a free demonstration on how to correctly and safely install the child seat, however, the final installation is solely down to the vehicle owner. CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM WITH ISOFIX BASE The MINI Baby Seat Group 0+ and MINI Junior Seat Group 1 with ISOFIX are child seats with a systematic approach for babies and small children up to the age of around 4 years. The Baby Seat 0+ can be used with or without the ISOFIX base, whilst the Junior Seat 1 requires the base. Both seats have integrated air pads (patented), which provide additional head protection in the event of a side-on collision. In everyday use, the air pads are soft and comfortable. CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM The MINI Junior Seat 2/3, with its inclination matching the car seat, has been designed especially for children weighing between 15 and 36 kg and measuring cm tall, making it ideal for children between the ages of around 3 and 12 years. The seat is secured using the car's three-point seat belt. The seat can also be secured using the integrated connectors to the ISOFIX anchor points in the car to ensure greater stability. Both seats have integrated air pads (patented), which provide additional protection for the head in the event of a side-on collision. The latest product in the range is Trackstar Advance which uses a clever electronic keytag to provide an advanced level of theft prevention. With MINI Trackstar Advance a key tag is needed as well as your usual car key. This connects to the in-car system and recognises you as the owner of the car, otherwise your MINI will refuse to start.
