We couldn t just call it F-TYPE; we had to make it F-TYPE. 3 BODY STRUCTURE. A JAGUAR OBSESSION Compact dimensions and a wide track, in combination with a lightweight aluminium body structure with high torsional rigidity, create the ideal platform for a sports car. F-TYPE is inherently agile and has natural dynamic capabilities. Combined with F-TYPE s advanced lightweight structure, the car delivers high power to weight and torque to weight ratios. F-TYPE 3.0 V6 Supercharged 250kW; F-TYPE V6 S 3.0 Supercharged 280kW; F-TYPE V8 S 5.0 Supercharged 364kW. Optional Intelligent Stop/Start system, delivers improved fuel economy of up to 5 percent. F-TYPE s Quickshift 8 speed, close ratio automatic transmission is both fast and refined with closely-spaced gears to keep the engine within its most effective rev range for longer. The gearbox s electronic control system monitors the driving situation, as well as the demands the driver is making from the car, and adapts accordingly to provide a truly dynamic experience. Dynamic Launch Mode, fitted to F-TYPE S, applies maximum torque during acceleration to deliver a reduction of up to 0.3 of a second in the 0-100km/h time F-TYPE is available with a switchable Active Sports Exhaust system for a deep, dramatic exhaust note and a race-car inspired crescendo. 5 IT THINKS ITS WAY THROUGH BENDS Aerodynamic performance is the essence of F-TYPE s design and is seamlessly integrated into the body styling. It includes Active Aerodynamics. This feature automatically raises the rear spoiler at speeds in excess of 100km/h to generate up to 120kg of downforce for improved high speed stability. Even the door handles are flush fitted to create an uninterrupted air flow along the car s flanks and deploy as required. Forged aluminium double wishbone suspension gives the perfect combination of control, agility and feedback with the damping set-up optimised for the best partnership between dynamics and refinement. On F-TYPE S models, sports suspension with adaptive damping assesses body motion, roll and pitch rates 100 times per second, and adjusts the settings for each damper accordingly. The system improves control, handling and agility as well as the ability to rapidly detect and react to critical driving conditions and driver demands. The mechanical limited slip differential improves traction and agility during acceleration out of corners and on challenging surfaces. ACTIVE DIFFERENTIAL The Jaguar Active Differential s sophisticated electronic management uses a system of sensors and full electronic control of the rear differential lock to provide F-TYPE V8 S with the ultimate in agility and control. The system helps maintain smooth power delivery by diverting torque to the appropriate wheel enabling the car to maintain precise control as well as increased stability and traction. CONFIGURABLE DYNAMICS Configurable Dynamics (S models only) allows the driver to configure the characteristics of the engine and gearshift time, steering and suspension settings, while the Dynamic-i system can be used to display a range of performance information. 6 MONITORS ROAD-INDUCED BODY MOTION 100 TIMES PER SECOND MONITORS STEERING WHEEL INPUT 500 TIMES PER SECOND PREDICTS PITCH FROM THROTTLE AND BRAKE INPUTS SPORTS SUSPENSION WITH ADAPTIVE DAMPING On F-TYPE S models, sports suspension with adaptive help damping assesses body motion, roll and pitch rates 100 times per second and alters damping to maintain a constant, level attitude and to improve control and driver confidence. The system also measures the steering wheel input 500 times per second to anticipate the body s roll rate and stiffen the appropriate dampers to reduce roll.

7 FEEL THE CAR S CONFIDENCE Jaguar Performance Braking System; Jaguar High Performance Braking System; Jaguar Super Performance Braking System. All three systems are engineered to deliver sustained high performance from ventilated discs of up to 380mm in diameter. Brake cooling is enhanced with additional suspension scoops and ducts developed with the assistance of advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics systems. F-TYPE s front calipers feature extensive use of aluminium in their design to reduce weight, benefiting both handling and ride refinement. The fast steering ratio responds rapidly to driver inputs; while every component in F-TYPE s all alloy structure combines for strength and rigidity, to create the most direct connection possible between the driver s hands on the wheel and the tyres on the road. 9 EVEN THE ROOF IS FAST F-TYPE s fabric roof offers both light weight and refinement with the outer canopy acoustically enhanced with DS material. 11 CAR/DRIVER INTERACTION F-TYPE is able to feed back and interact to an extraordinarily sensitive degree so that the driver can fully exploit and enjoy the high performance dynamics. The cabin is driver-centric with excellent visibility and minimal distractions. The facia is as low as possible and free from clutter to increase the forward view, while the Intelligent Venting System hides the twin central air vents until they are required. 12 JUST DRIVE The Touch-screen and multi-function controls operate intuitively. Dials are simple, clear and analogue an important facet for a sports car. Dual-mode switches are incorporated into the automatic climate control dials with the display reconfiguring to reflect the appropriate function. During performance driving, manual control of the gear ratios is available via either the F-TYPE s SportShift selector or the paddles mounted behind the steering wheel. Lightning fast sequential gear changes deliver an assertive sporting feel and are accompanied by a distinctive F-TYPE exhaust note.

From the choice of lightweight materials and lean production methods to the efficiency of its engines and designs, Jaguar is committed to operating as a more sustainable business and reducing its overall environmental impact. Jaguar s flagship XJ model was the first in the company to achieve ISO 14040, the international standard for vehicle whole life cycle assessment. This certification measures the environmental impact of XJ from component material sourcing and manufacturing process, through its driven life time, to final disposal. But that s not all. Every new Jaguar vehicle is designed to be 85% recyclable and reusable, in addition 95% recoverable and reusable with 10% for energy generation. The XJ, F-TYPE and XK s innovative use of lightweight aluminium, which incorporates up to 50% recycled material in the body structures, provides considerable performance benefits. This includes improved fuel consumption, and less CO₂ emissions as well as the dynamic performance inherent in its weight saving design. Jaguar is committed to reducing dependency on fossil fuels, using fewer resources and creating less waste. Already the manufacturing assembly CO₂ emissions of each Jaguar built in the UK since 2009 is offset. For every tonne of CO₂ emitted in the assembly process, Jaguar invests in carbon reduction projects that reduce an equivalent tonne of CO₂ elsewhere. Offsetting allows Jaguar to take action now, to reduce its impact on the environment, as part of an integrated carbon management plan. This company plan includes targets to reduce operating CO₂ emissions and waste to landfill by 25% by 2012, water consumption by 10% by 2012 and fleet average tailpipe CO₂ emissions by 25% by 2015, based on 2007 levels. But it doesn t stop there. World class manufacturing facilities certified to ISO since 1998, transport miles have been cut from delivery routes and new ways are being introduced to produce energy from food waste at our headquarters in the UK.
