22 teak Bradford Teak is the ultimate wood for fine outdoor furniture. Ship builders have used Teak for centuries recognizing the quality, strength and durability. There is a saying not all things are created equal. It is so true and applies to everything we appreciate. When taking home a piece of Bradford Teak, you are taking home the best. The North American climate is unique and extreme. We understand how natural materials react to climate changes and adjust the manufacturing and design accordingly. Experienced craftsmen process only legal, mature, Plantation Teak wood into our beautiful furniture for a lifetime of enjoyment. It is crafted using mortise and tenon joinery and the pieces are both machine and hand crafted to ensure its structural integrity and beauty. CARE OF TEAK Teak has been used by the marine industry for hundreds of years. It has its own natural oils which protect the wood from the elements, allowing the furniture to withstand the day to day climate conditions of North America, from intense heat to excessive cold. Weather protection is not necessary, just let your furniture weather naturally over 6-9 months and it will get the silver grey patina which many appreciate. This is not harmful to the wood and only resides on the surface. If you decide you would like to maintain the new look of teak, you can prevent it from weathering by using products which will need to be applied yearly, but your teak will remain showroom beautiful. If you do let the natural weathering process occur, you can easily restore it with either the use of a plastic bristle brush and soapy water, the gentle use of a pressure washer, or by using a teak cleaning product and oil. We do not suggest using heavy teak oil on any of our products, as it may promote the growth of mould and mildew. This may cause blackening to the teak, particularly in join areas. Using the proper products on your teak will ensure years of enjoyment and the continued beauty of the teak. Checking may occur in teak but it does not affect the usage of the product, and are part of the process of the wood adjusting to the different climate conditions. You have to sit in our benches and chairs to really appreciate the design that makes our furniture so comfortable. We at Bradford Lifestyles believe that you will enjoy your teak for a lifetime and we offer a lifetime (limited) warranty or a 10 year limited warranty for commercial use.
