8 CLAAS distributors: "Blood brothers" in the workplace "Work outfits for all occupations." They do not only share employer, but also "blood group" to a certain extent: Maximilian Scholz, Dominik Klemm, Oliver Heil and Matthias Fischer are colleagues at CLAAS distributors. They are employed in different positions spare-parts salesmen or mechanics, for example but they have one thing in common: Seed-green blood flows through their veins. Maximilian Scholz, who has just finished his apprenticeship as a mechanic, is fascinated by agriculture and agricultural engineering/technology both at work and at home. "My family runs a hobby farm with six hectares of meadow, a few sheep and a pony," he explains. His technical interests also led him to follow a career as a mechanic. "I particularly enjoy driving tractors," he reveals. He shares a soft spot for motorised vehicles with Dominik Klemm, who has completed his apprenticeship as an agricultural machinery specialist. In his free time, he enjoys working on his motorbike. "Professionally, the machines can also be bigger," he smiles. Even the spare-parts salesman Matthias Fischer is fond of powerful means of transport. The trained wholesale and foreign trade merchant, and certified warehouse manager, is also a selfconfessed motorsports fan. In contrast, his colleague Oliver Heil, who is also employed in the Spare Parts department, gets his adrenaline kick from football. The two sports fans are also responsible for the merchandising division. "It's important that the CLAAS shop not only stocks clothing for fans, but also functional, hard-wearing work clothing," explains Matthias Fischer. "Regardless of whether our colleagues are on the shop floor, working out in the fields or, like us, working as spare-parts salesmen in the sales room CLAAS offers work outfits for different occupations that meet any requirements," summarises Oliver Heil. 23 "Enthusiasm for our products motivates me every day." Andreas Rautenberg is a CLAAS man through and through. The validation engineer, who is based in Bad Saulgau in Germany, is responsible for ensuring that the JAGUAR forage harvester and its front attachments works seamlessly across the world. The engineer laid the first stepping stone for his CLAAS career when he was a student, and has remained loyal to the company ever since. Every day, he is happy to be working for CLAAS. CLAAS employee: International company ambassador Andreas Rautenberg has found his dream job. As a validation engineer, he is based in Bad Saulgau and travels through our world's fields. He has long had a heartfelt desire to be a model in a CLAAS catalogue. A colleague finally went to the company and applied on his behalf. Now this dream has also come true, just like his dream start to a career with CLAAS: In 2009, while still a student, he began his career with the company by doing a placement in Bad Saulgau. Shortly afterwards, he wrote his dissertation in Harsewinkel and since 2010, he has been employed in his current position in Bad Saulgau. "I am responsible for ensuring that the JAGUAR and its corresponding front attachments work seamlessly and meet our customers' expectations with regards to premium products, such as CLAAS forage harvesters," he explains. To ensure this, he carries out tests in fields across the world, which he thoroughly enjoys. "Enthusiasm for our products and feeling great pride in being part of the CLAAS family motivates me every day. What's more, I'm pleased to be able to work in the globally important agricultural-engineering and agricultural sector." The feeling of having seed-green blood flowing through his veins also spurs him on to something new every day. "Sometimes, my time at work almost feels like leisure time," he laughs

"The best possible harvest thanks to CLAAS" All good things come in threes: Jens Krämer knows this too to cultivate his variety of crops, he has two powerful CLAAS tractors. He also has a LEXION combine harvester as part of his fleet. "The machines make our work that much easier and mean we have the best possible harvest," he explains. There is a lot to be done on his farm alongside 25 hectares of arable farm land, he also has vineyards covering five hectares. From a very early age, his professional career and interest in agriculture were shaped by the farm that has been in his family for generations. As a consequence, Jens Krämer trained as a "agricultural service specialist". Now he wants to build on his qualifications. "I have decided to start further training to become a master winemaker." The Krämer family already own several vineyards in the Rhine- Main area. So that the vines are bursting with lush fruits in autumn, and from which plump red and white wine grapes hang, the vines are nourished and cared for throughout the year. "Red wine is our core business in this area," he explains. It is mainly Dornfelder grapes that are grown, but white wines and Federweisser wines are also part of the range and sold in the farm shop. The farm has been further and further extended over the past few years. In 2010, the farm relocated the entire business and farmhouse, meaning the farm could continue to grow. "The whole family has helped ensure that our company has been able to continue to develop and grow. I'm proud of our business," summarises Jens Krämer. Jens Krämer is a thoroughbred farmer, as well as a grape and wine specialist. After having completed his training as an agricultural service specialist, he is now training to become a master winemaker. He sells his fine wines in the farm's own shop. The business has been run by several generations of the family and has grown continually over the past few years

65 Big machines made small. "Miniature worlds for fans and collectors." The soil is made of coffee powder; in winter, baking powder falls as "snow" and in summer, CLAAS machines harvest grain on coir matting for fans and collectors alike, CLAAS has effectively put miniature versions of tractors, combine harvesters, etc., in the limelight, and has taken very special photographs. The entire harvest year has been depicted as a diorama with model figures and scenes. A living miniature world has been created, in which lots is waiting to be discovered. Alongside farmers, many collectors are also interested in the machines made by the family-owned company based in Harsewinkel in East Westphalia. For these collectors, there are numerous true-to-scale models available that perfectly reflect every tiny detail of their much larger namesake. For the diorama photographs, CLAAS went one step further and realistically created entire landscapes and scenes in a scale of 1:32. The photographs will accompany fans throughout the year in the specially made 2014 calendar, and will also be used for different marketing activities. Agricultural activities and fields were recreated for the photoshoot with loving attention to detail for example, maize crops were created by hand. Even prototypes and special models found themselves in front of the lens. The fragile diorama landscapes were placed on a platform surrounded by white walls. Every picture was created and photographed with great care and precision, and the relevant machine stood at the heart of every scene. To do this, the trees were constantly moved, the fences were assembled differently and the model figures and animals were always repositioned and fixed in place. Even the sky, which had been painted onto cardboard, was held over the scenery every time to create as realistic a photograph as possible. By showing off their improvisation and handicraft skills, the model-making team has managed to create unique, charming and particularly realistic-looking scenes. They are the stars of a calendar and are also used as the central focus of further marketing activities: The photographs of the miniature worlds have CLAAS machines at the heart. Tractors, combine harvester, etc., were lovingly recreated as realistically as possible, and the true-to-scale models were put in the limelight.
