You may need to re-drill the roof lip. A new windshield rubber is highly recommended. Installation time will depend on skill level and Bronco modifications. Usually 4-10 Hours. When drilling for the rivets, use a sharp drill bit and a slow speed. 1. Remove roof. 2. Remove stock wiper motor wiring from the stock windshield frame. 3. Cover the hood with padding and fold the stock windshield frame down onto the hood. 4. With a spot weld drill, drill out the spot welds holding the hinge to the cowl. There are about 50 spot welds. If you have a 66 or possibly 67, there will be screws holding the frame to the cowl. Remove the old windshield frame from the Bronco. 5. Remove the dash pad and loosen the right side of the dash so it can be pulled out about 3. If your rollbar will prevent the dash from moving, it can be worked on in place but it will be more difficult. 6. Place the bare S.S. frame onto the cowl. Center the S.S. frame side-to-side and set the front of the S.S. frame flush with the front of the cowl. SEE DIAGRAM #1. Carefully mark the position of the hinge to the cowl and fold the S.S. frame down onto the hood. With the hinge lined up with your marks on the cowl, drill one 1/8 hole through the hinge and into the cowl at each end of the hinge. Be carful not to drill into the old wiring hole on the drivers side. Rivet the hinge onto the cowl with only these two rivets then fold the S.S. frame up to check fit. If all is well then drill the 3/16 holes between the first two 1/8 rivets as shown in DIAGRAM #2. Then drill out the two 1/8 rivets to 3/16 and remove the S.S. frame. 7. Trim the cowl lip for motor clearance as shown in DIAGRAM #3. 8. Trim the dash for motor clearance as shown in DIAGRAM #4. Cut carefully and only remove the area shown. Once the motor is in place, you may need to trim a little more to clear the motor. 9. Re-install dash if it was removed.

2 10. Route the original wiper motor wiring across the dash to above the glove box area. Connect the wiring as shown in DIAGRAM #5. Remove the wiper motor crank if your new motor has one. Plug the new motor into the modified wiring. Turn on the ignition and wiper switch to low speed. With the motor grounded, the wiper motor should be running. Turn the wiper switch to off and it should stop in its park position. Then unplug the electrical connections from the motor. 11. Install the supplied wiper motor crank onto the motor shaft as shown in DIAGRAM #6. Note: The motor must be in park position or the wipers will not park properly. 12. Assemble the linkage as shown in DIAGRAM #7. Note: Care must be taken so that all the parts are in the correct place or the linkage may rub or jam. 13. Install the linkage into the S.S. frame with some sealer on the pivots, as shown in DIAGRAM # Test the wiper linkage by connecting the wiper harness to the motor. Check that the linkage has clearance and does not rub. Also check that the motor parks properly. 15. Place a support that is about 14 high (a box works well) on the hood to keep the top edge of the S.S. frame up so that the wiper pivots clear the hood. Place some sealer on the cowl around the rivet holes and old wiper motor wiring hole. Position the S.S. frame hinge on the cowl with the top edge of the S. S. frame on the support. Rivet the hinge into place. Fold the frame into place carefully checking the motor clearance to the cowl lip. Trim the dash and cowl lip as necessary to clear. Install optional linkage cover as shown in DIAGRAM # Plug the wiring into the motor. Note: Do not have the wiper arms and blades installed yet. And check the operation of the system, making sure that the linkage does not bind. Turn the wiper switch off and check that the wiper motor still parks correctly as in step # Install the glass. 18. Make sure the wiper motor is in the park position and install the wiper arms and blades. The arms may need adjustment for length with the screws under the arms. Note: Do not over tighten. 19. Re-install roof.
