1 GR-FE EINE CONTROL SYSTEM SFI SYSTEM 69 DTC P067 Starter Relay Circuit High DCRIPTION While the engine is being cranked, the positive battery voltage is applied to terminal of the ECM. If the ECM detects the Starter Control () signal while the vehicle is being driven, it determines that there is a malfunction in the circuit. The ECM then illuminates the MIL and sets the DTC. This monitor runs when the vehicle is driven at. mph (0 km/h) for over 0 seconds. If the engine will not crank, proceed to the problem symptoms table (See page -8).
5 GR-FE EINE CONTROL SYSTEM SFI SYSTEM 7 Read freeze frame data using an intelligent tester. Freeze frame data record the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data, from the time the malfunction occurred. READ ALUE OF INTELLIGENT TTER (RTER SIGNAL) (a) Connect an intelligent tester to the DLC. (b) Turn the ignition switch ON and turn the tester ON. (c) Select the following menu items: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / DATA LIST / PRIMARY / RTER SIG. (d) Check the value displayed on the tester when the ignition switch is turned to ON and RT positions. Positions ON RT RTER SIG OFF ON REPLACE ECM INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH OR CLUTCH RT SWITCH Component Side: P (a) Inspect the Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch (For Automatic Transmission models). () Disconnect the P PNP switch connector. () Check the resistance when the transmission gear selector lever is moved to each position. Standard Resistance PNP Switch A09E06 Gear Selector Lever Tester Connections Positions P - 6, - R - N - 9, - D L - 8 Specified Conditions Below Ω mm ( in) C8 ON OFF Clutch Start Switch A089E0 (b) () Reconnect the PNP switch connector. Inspect the clutch start switch (For Manual Transmission models). () Disconnect the C8 clutch start switch connector. () Check the resistance when the clutch start switch is ON and OFF. Standard Resistance Positions Tester Connections Specified Conditions ON (pushed) - Below Ω OFF (free) - 0 kω or higher () Reconnect the clutch start switch connector.

(b) Turn the ignition switch ON and turn the tester ON. (c) Select the following menu items: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / DATA LIST / PRIMARY / RTER SIG. (d) Check the value displayed on the tester when the ignition switch is turned to ON and RT positions. Positions ON RT RTER SIG OFF ON SYSTEM INSPECT IGNITION OR RTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY Component Side: I7 A06879E (a) (b) (c) Disconnect the I7 ignition switch connector. Check the resistance.
