3 Care must be taken when installing this accessory to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the "Accessory Installation Practices" document. This document covers such items as:- Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.). Safety (eye protection, rechecking torque procedure, etc.). Vehicle Disassembly/Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.). Electrical Component Disassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.). Please see your Scion dealer for a copy of this document. 1. Protect the Vehicle. (a) Protect the fender before starting. 10mm wrench or socket & ratchet (b) Remove the negative battery cable (Fig. 1-1). CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool when removing cable. Negative battery cable (c) Check the kit contents. (d) Cover the steering wheel with a blanket to prevent scratches. Fig Disassemble the Vehicle. NOTE: Place all removed parts on a protected surface. NOTE: When disconnecting wiring connectors DO NOT pull on the wiring, pull on the connector only. NOTE: Engage the parking brake while working. (a) Apply tape to the left side of the radio trim piece to prevent scratches (Fig. 2-1). Tape Fig. 2-1 Page 3 of 16 pages

4 Panel removal tool Clip (x2) Claw (x2) (b) Detach the five clips and two claws to remove the radio trim piece (Fig. 2-2). NOTE: Disconnect the clock/hazard switch connector while removing the trim panel. Mark the connector harness with masking tape to ensure it is not plugged into the base display audio or extension module during reassembly. Fig. 2-2 Clip (x3) 10mm socket, extension & ratchet (c) Remove the 4 bolts to remove the right and left brackets from the interior panel (Fig.2-3). (1) Save the 4 bolts. (2) Discard the radio brackets. Bolt (x4) Fig. 2-3 Fig. 2-4 Clips (x4) Masking tape (d) Apply tape to the right side of the switch panel to prevent scratches (Fig. 2-4). (e) Disengage the 4 clips and remove the switch panel (Fig. 2-4). Disconnect the connector(s) connected to the back of the switch panel. (f) Place a blanket over the steering wheel cover to prevent scratches. Meter cluster panel Claws (x8) (g) Disengage the 8 claws and remove the meter cluster panel (Fig. 2-5). 5 (h) Remove the combination meter assembly. (1) Remove the top screw. (2) Remove the meter by pulling on the two WHITE tabs on each side of the meter to disengage the 2 claws (Fig. 2-6). Pull on WHITE tabs only NOTE: Only pull the WHITE plastic tabs. Pulling on the clear plastic or black plastic portion of the meter can cause damage to the meter. Fig. 2-6 (3) Disconnect the connector. 3. Install the GPS Antenna. Scissors (a) Cut the foam tape (Fig. 3-1). Fig x 8 cm (1) Cut four small pieces (4x4cm) (2) Cut one large piece (4x8cm) (3) Not all of the material will be used. (b) Clean the GPS antenna mounting surface with VDC approved cleaner. (c) Remove the GPS plate (Fig. 3-2) from the parts bag kit. Fig. 3-2 GPS Plate Page 5 of 16 pages

6 (d) Remove the paper off of the back of the GPS plate to expose the adhesive (Fig. 3-3). Fig. 3-3 Bracket 60mm GPS plate (e) With the adhesive side facing downward, attach the GPS plate to the top of the air conditioning duct, about 60mm to the right of the bracket (Fig. 3-4). NOTE: Ensure the GPS plate sits entirely on the plastic air duct. The plate SHOULD NOT stick out over the front edge (Fig. 3-5). 7 GPS antenna (f) Place the GPS antenna onto the center of the GPS plate (Fig. 3-6 & Fig. 3-7). Fig. 3-8 Large foam tape (h) Place a large piece of foam tape (4x8cm) over the GPS antenna to keep the antenna in place (Fig. 3-9). Fig. 3-9 Page 7 of 16 pages

8 (i) Secure the GPS antenna wire with one wire tie to the vehicle wiring harness (Fig. 3-10). NOTE: Ensure the wire is routed above the OE harness. Fig Wire tie (j) Route the GPS antenna wire along the vehicle wire harness toward the audio opening. NOTE: Ensure the wire is routed above the OE harness. (k) Secure the GPS antenna wire to the vehicle harness above the reinforcement bar using two wire ties (Fig. 3-11). Wire ties (l) Route the GPS wire behind and under the reinforcement bar toward the USB cable (Fig. 3-11). Fig GPS wire Fig Wire ties USB cable (m) Route the GPS wire along the USB cable and line up the GPS antenna connector to the USB connector (Fig. 3-12). (n) Bundle the remainder of the GPS wire and secure it to the USB cable with two wire ties (Fig. 3-12). (o) Trim all wire ties. Page 8 of 16 pages

9 4. Assemble the Radio and Extension Module. Wire clip (a) Lay the extension module on a flat surface with the large label side facing upwards (Fig. 4-1). (b) Insert the wire clip that is attached to the Bluetooth antenna wire into the extension module (Fig. 4-1). Fig. 4-1 (c) Plug the Bluetooth antenna connector into the extension module (Fig. 4-2). Connect to extension module (d) Lay the radio on a flat surface with the bottom facing upward. Fig. 4-2 Connect to radio (e) Place the extension module on the bottom of the radio (Fig. 4-3). (f) Plug the Bluetooth antenna connector into the radio (Fig. 4-3). (g) Loosely fasten the LH mounting bracket to the radio using four bolts from the audio kit (Fig. 4-4). (h) Loosely fasten the LH mounting bracket to the extension module with two bolts from the extension module kit (Fig. 4-4). NOTE: DO NOT completely tighten all bolts. Page 9 of 16 pages

(j) Loosely fasten the RH mounting bracket to the extension module with two bolts from the extension module kit (Fig. 4-5). NOTE: DO NOT completely tighten all bolts. (k) Align the extension module to the radio and tighten all bolts on both sides of the radio and extension module (Fig. 4-4 and Fig. 4-5). (l) Connect the extension module interface wire harness between the extension module and the radio (Fig. 4-6 & Fig. 4-7). 11 10 Pin Fig. 5-2 GPS 6 Pin 28 Pin NO CONNECTION 28 Pin USB 6 Pin Radio antenna GPS (b) Connect the radio antenna cable, 28 pin, 24 pin, 6 pin, and 10 pin harness connector cables to the base display radio (Fig. 5-2 & Fig. 5-3). (c) Connect the USB cable and GPS antenna cable to the extension module (Fig. 5-2 & Fig. 5-3). Do not connect the USB cable to the Base Display Radio. The USB cable must be connected to the extension module. (Fig. 5-1) USB Radio Antenna Fig Pin (d) Confirm all harness connections are completed (Fig. 5-4). Fig Install the Premium Audio Assembly (Mount in the Vehicle). 10mm socket, extension & ratchet (a) Install the Premium Audio assembly into the instrument panel (Fig. 6-1). Fig. 6-1 Bolt (x4) (1) Make sure the 16 pin clock/hazard switch connector is not connected to the back of the radio. (2) Fasten the receiver radio unit assembly with the four bolts removed in Step 2(c) (Fig. 6-1). Page 11 of 16 pages

12 (b) Temporarily connect the negative battery cable. CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool when attaching the cable. (c) If required, install the DCC short pin. 7. Confirm that the Extension Module is Connected. (a) Turn the vehicle ignition switch to the ACC position. (b) After the warning screen, press the MEDIA button. Fig. 7-1 Media button Map screen (c) NOTE: Each time the MEDIA button is pressed the system will switch the screen between MAP and the last audio mode used (Fig. 7-1). (d) Confirm if the Map screen is shown (Fig. 7-1). 8. Check the USB & AUX Connections. USB flash drive & AUX tester AUX/USB connector (a) With the ignition switch still in the ACC position, connect the USB flash drive media to the vehicle s USB jack (Fig. 8-1). 13 USB source (b) Press the MEDIA source button to see the map split view screen. The audio source split view should show the USB audio playback (Fig. 8-2). (c) Confirm that the USB source can be selected. Fig. 8-2 (d) Confirm that a song plays. (e) Remove the flash drive from the USB jack. (f) Press the MEDIA button. (g) Press the source button to go to the audio screen. (h) Plug in the AUX tester. (i) Confirm that the AUX source can be selected. (j) Remove the AUX tester. NOTE: Each time the MEDIA button is pressed the system will switch the screen between MAP and the last audio mode used (Fig 7-1). 9. Check the Microphone and Vehicle Antenna. button (a) With the ignition switch still the in ACC position, press the button (Fig. 9-1). (b) After the beep say, Tune to Fig. 9-1 (c) Wait until the voice recognition session is complete. The screen should switch to FM mode showing FM Page 13 of 16 pages

14 (d) Press the SEEK/TRACK up button (Fig. 9-2). Fig. 9-2 Press SEEK/TRACK up button (e) Confirm that the radio tunes to an FM radio station and sound is heard. (f) Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. (g) Disconnect the battery negative cable. 10. Complete the Installation. (a) Complete the reassembly of the vehicle. (1) Reconnect any disconnected connectors. (2) Verify the panels fit together properly with no uneven gaps. (b) Clean up and remove any trash. 10mm socket & torque wrench (c) Reconnect the vehicle s negative battery cable (Fig. 10-1). Fig Negative battery cable (1) Position the negative cable at the original factory position. CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool when replacing the cable. (2) Tighten the nut to 5.4 N m (48 lbf in). Torque: 5.4 N m. (48 lbf in) (d) Perform the functional checks. Page 14 of 16 pages

15 (e) With the ignition switch in the ACC position, set the vehicle specific audio configuration. (1) Press the button (Fig. 10-2). button (2) Select the Vehicle tile in the Setup menu.
