1 A fully fluid linked steering control unit consisting of a manually operated directional control servo valve and with a feedback meter element in a single body. It is used principally for fluid linked power steering systems, but can be used for some servo-type applications where visual positioning is required. Eaton s new Series 10 steering units are a blend of all the capabilities of the previous Standard and Metric Steering units with some new, exciting features. The Series 10 is capable of 275 bar [4000 psi] continuous pressure rating. 3 Q - Amp Power Steering Units The displacement of the steering control units vary with the input of the steering wheel. When steering at a slow the effective displacement is the same as the meter displacement but as the input increases the effective displacement shifts to times depending on the type of steering control unit. The combination of control valve and power elements in a single unit provides an economical power steering unit for many vehicles. Control valving is open centre and the power stream fluid circulates through the unit back to the reservoir at very low pressure when the system is not being used.
