2 Sitting The Rifton Seating System Our Rifton Seating System offers you a wide variety of choices to help you meet the special requirements of your child. Customize your Stationary or Mobile Chair with specific accessories as needed. Choose the correct size for your child, with the configuration that provides comfort, support, and independence. You can choose: A stationary or mobile model. A high or low back model. A fixed backrest or an angle-adjustable backrest. A seat frame with tilt adjustment and optional spring design. The Stationary Chair is a simple work chair for a minimally involved child. Low Back Mobile Chair Primarily designed for a child who needs lower body support, this Mobile Chair may be of greatest help to a child whose lower extremities require secure positioning. Customize the chair to your child s specifi c needs by adding accessories to the frame. High Back Mobile Chair For children who need more upper body support, the High Back Mobile Chair can be customized by adding accessories to the chair frame. Choose the basic chair with backrest and armrests, and build up the accessories as needed. Advancement Chair The Advancement Chair is designed to teach sitting skills, provide key support points with the arm prompts, and include further accessories as needed. 3 Features Upholstery comes in elegant burgundy or tan with navy edging. Rifton Chairs come in three sizes. For an easy wheelchair transfer, snap the Armrest out by depressing the plastic lever and pulling up. Adjustment points are color-coded in bright blue. To adjust the height or tilt, just turn the marked handle under the seat it s one-handed. Removable Footboard adjusts in 1" increments forward from a recessed position under the chair. Sandal and wedge accessories attach for foot positioning. This sturdy push-and-steer handle mounts on the back of the chair. Locking casters will keep the chair from rolling.

The backrest will slide in or out. Tighten the knobs to lock backrest in the new position. Adjustable Backrest Angle The adjustable backrest moves through a 15 range. With this feature, Chair height can be adjusted as your child grows. In a school setting use it for more than one child. Tilt Action The tilt handle pivots the entire seat up to 12 forward and 12 backward. Labeled tilt, it is also located under the seat. Spring Action The spring action adds a dynamic element to the chair: it responds to the changing positions of the child. 5 Accessories Flat or Contoured Headrests clip onto the chair back, and adjust up and down. The Tray is the right size for an art project, a communication device, or lunch! Optional Handhold helps the child maintain balance. Additional Side Pads have pockets slip them over the standard pads to reduce the width of the seat. To adjust the Trunk Support, squeeze the blue clips with your thumb and forefi nger, then slide and release. Like a stacking toy, each Sandal or Wedge fi ts into the shape below it. Assemble your stack, then close the blue latches to lock in place. The Trunk Support strap snaps on and off. You can adjust strap length or remove it entirely. (Small Trunk Support shown.) Leg Prompts can be substituted for the Abductor if a child needs further leg support or positioning.

6 Rifton Seating System (cont d) Sitting Accessories to customize your Rifton Chair Contoured Flat Headrests come in two shapes, fl at and contoured, with vertical adjustments. The Trunk Support pads can be adjusted in width, angle, and height. The strap on the Trunk Support can be adjusted to control trunk movement, and it releases when either end is lifted up. The Tray, a working surface with raised edges and rounded corners, is very easy to clean. Remove it with a release catch under the front edge of the tray. The tray attaches to the Armrests, which can tilt at different angles and are height adjustable, also when the tray is attached. A movable, vertical Handhold can be used to stabilize one hand. Additional Side Pads can be added to reduce the seat width. They slip over the Armrest Pads. The removable, padded Abductor separates the knees and adjusts forward or back. Sandals and Wedges lift or adjust the user s feet. Confi gure them yourself with the unique stack and latch feature. The Leg Prompts are an alternative to the Abductor and give more leg support. Straps pass around in front of leg just below the knee providing comfortable security. Attachment socket accommodates either Abductor or Leg Prompts.
