1 2014+ Ram 3.0 EcoDiesel EGR Delete Installation Guide WARNING: This product is for competition use only in a sanctioned racing event. NOT FOR USE ON VEHICLES USED OR REGISTERED FOR USE ON A PUBLIC ROAD Step 1 Removing air filter and intake tube. Disconnect MAF Sensor by pulling the red tab back out of the connector. Page 1 of 27

2 Page 2 of 27 Disconnect the intake tube from the air cleaner box by untightening the band. Removing the air filter by popping the (4) clips that hold the air cleaner box lid on and remove the lid and filter. Trace the intake tube until you locate the intake tube clamp. Loosen the clamp and remove the intake tube from the turbo.

3 Remove inner wheel well plastic Note: Not required but can very helpful later in the process. Removing lower air cleaner box Remove all remaining clips so the box is free of wires. Remove screws from inside the wheel well plastic. (Note: This step is only necessary if you don t remove the wheel well plastic) Lift lower air cleaner box straight up until it is free from the dowels. You can now remove the box from the truck. 4 Removing Vacuum Line Locate vacuum line attached to EGR actuator and disconnect. Page 4 of 27

5 Trace line from actuator to the solenoid and remove any clips from the line. (Will be on passenger side of throttle plate assembly) Remove the line from the solenoid and slowly pull line towards the front of the truck while guiding the rear of the line to fully remove. Page 5 of 27

6 Removing EGR Actuator Remove e-clip and washer from the front of the actuator (Be sure not to drop the washer) Remove (2) T-25 bolts from the bracket Page 6 of 27

7 Pull actuator arm off the unit (towards the front of the truck). Removing Electrical Disconnect blue connector by releasing and pulling tab towards the front of the truck Disconnect red connector by lifting up on the yellow tab. Page 7 of 27

8 Page 8 of 27 Disconnect large black connector by pulling the red tabs towards the back of the truck.

9 Lift gray handle until the plug separates and then disconnect the plug. Push the fixed part of the plug towards the ground to reveal the two clips holding it to the black bracket using the appropriate tools free the plug from the bracket. Once removed disconnect any remaining clips from the bracket. Step 2 Coolant Lines Removing the Coolant Lines Drain about 1 gallon of coolant by removing the cap off of the coolant reservoir. Then locate the radiator drain plug under the front drivers side of the truck. Using a 16mm wrench break the drain loose (be careful not to break the drain itself because the drain is plastic) then you should be able to turn the drain by hand. Page 9 of 27

10 Drain about 1 gallon of coolant out of the truck or until the drain begins to drip slowly. When finished turn the drain off making sure the nut locks into place. Page 10 of 27

11 Removing rear coolant hard lines Locate the rear coolant junction on the body of the EGR. Page 11 of 27

12 Using pliers to free the clamp pull the clamp towards the rear of the truck. Trace the lower coolant line until you find the hard pipe (Note: this will be removed in Step 3 after the EGR has been removed to allow better access.) Page 12 of 27

13 Remove the (2) 10mm bolts (Note: Coolant will drain out of the hose and EGR) Page 13 of 27

14 Next locate the front coolant line (Note: DO NOT DROP OR DAMAGE GASKET. IT WILL BE REUSED). Now remove the (2) 8mm bolts being sure to catch the gasket after removing the second bolt. Page 14 of 27

15 Removing EGR tube Locate the top flange of the EGR tube (Note: This flange is located directly behind the actuator that was removed earlier). Remove the (2) 10mm bolts that connect the tube to the EGR unit (Note: You can carefully bend the heat shield to better access the bolts). Note: You will remove the bottom EGR tube bolts later on. 16 Step 3 Remove EGR Valve and EGR Cooler Removing the EGR Cooler Locate and remove a T-40 bolt on the back of the EGR cooler. (Note: This bolt is very difficult to see) Page 16 of 27

17 Page 17 of 27 Remove the Lower Support Bracket (Black Bracket) by locating and removing the (3) 10mm bolts.

18 Remove the Lower EGR Cooler Manifold by locating and removing (3) 13mm bolts (Note: 2 of these bolts will be reused later) At this point you can remove the unit from the truck. Page 18 of 27

19 Step 4 Removing Coolant Line and EGR Tube Lower Coolant Line You will return to the coolant line that was not removed in Step 2. Using pliers you will squeeze the spring clamp and move it so the hose can be removed from the hard coolant line. Remove the coolant hose from the hard line. Page 19 of 27

20 Removing EGR Tube - (Note: This can be done from under the truck or above). Trace the rear EGR tube down to the turbo manifold to locate the (3) 8mm bolts that will be removed. (Note: These bolts will not be reused but the gasket will be) Page 20 of 27

21 Step 5 Installation of Off Road Conversion Kit Install Turbo Manifold Block Off Plate Using (3) 10mm bolts (included) and reusing the factory gasket secure the rear block off plate to the turbo manifold Page 21 of 27

22 Install Block Off Bracket Reusing (2) 13mm bolts attach the Block Off Bracket to the 2 points shown below (Note: These are the same bolt locations that the EGR unit was mounted to) Page 22 of 27

23 Connect Front Coolant Line Reusing (2) 8mm bolts with the included (2) 10mm nuts to attach the front coolant line and gasket to the front of the Block Off Bracket. Page 23 of 27

24 Rear Coolant Line Adapter Locate the lower coolant line that was removed in Step 4 and place a supplied clamp on to the end of the hose that does not have the reducer. Slide hose onto the lower coolant hard pipe and secure with clamp. Page 24 of 27

25 Locate the upper coolant line (the line that runs to the firewall) and install the supplied on the hose. Insert the reducer into the upper coolant hose and secure with clamp. Page 25 of 27

26 Attach coolant line to the Block Off Bracket using the supplied zip tie Page 26 of 27

27 Attaching the electrical Attach the large electrical connector to the Block Off Bracket Attach the small wiring harness to the large wiring harness using the included zip ties Step 6 - Final steps 1.
