3 Tandem Asphalt Rollers, CC222HF - CC322 A series of articulated tandem rollers featuring a unique ability for pivotal steering on the rear drum, giving up to 500 mm offset. CC222HF/232 HF/322 are rollers in the medium range of 7-8 tonnes, used primarily for asphalt paving of roads, streets and industrial areas but also suitable on gravel for base courses. CC222HF and CC232HF are available in a combi-version with four rubber tyres at the rear instead of a drum. The rubber wheels are driven in pairs by separate propulsion motors, thus minimising the risk of damaging newly laid asphalt compound when making sharp turns. The rubber wheels ensure a denser and smoother surface on the asphalt, a feature that is sometimes required. The CC232HF is fitted with split drums, which facilitate smooth action of the roller and reduce the risk of cracks in the asphalt in sharp bends or round traffic roundabouts. The CC222HF and CC232HF has got the high frequency technique for the low amplitude as standard. Easy readable instrument panel with fuel gauge. Service The two large hoods ensure easy access for service to the entire engine compartment. Service points, such as the air cleaner, hydraulic filter, fuel filter and engine oil filter are easily accessible. Ultramodern hydraulic systems ensure that the amount of hydraulic fluid can be kept low, facilitating the handling of expended fluid that could otherwise become a problem for the environment. The main components of the sprinkler system are concentrated at one point for each drum, which facilitates maintenance and draining of the sprinkler system. Noncorrodible water tanks and sprinkler tubing also simplify maintenance of the sprinkler system, which is an essential item of the asphalt roller. Ergonomics The operator s station is designed in cooperation with the Swedish Working Environment Fund, resulting in a seat and steering wheel module that can rotate more than 180 degrees and travel from side to side. This allows the operator to regularly alter his or her posture and thus minimise the risk of attritional injury to the back and neck. The steering wheel is also adjustable. The operator s station is state of the art and now has several followers in the compaction roller segment. Noise in the cab is at a comfortably low level, 78 db(a). The cab can also be fitted with an optional air-conditioner, ensuring a steady and pleasant atmosphere regardless of outdoor temperature. A heater and fresh-air fan are of course standard features together with an air cleaner. The operator s station is isolated from the rest of the roller by unique rubber elements that not only eliminate vibration but also damp larger motion when the roller is driven on an uneven surface. Safety The provision of a safety cab and ROPS on Dynapac s machines goes without saying. Each machine has a low-lying and well-positioned centre of gravity and for those who have chosen the optional pivotal steering of the rear drum there is the possibility of moving the centre of gravity sideways, e.g., away from a weak edge of the road that threatens to give way. All roller models are equipped with failsafe brakes that are immediately applied if the engine stalls, or in the event of hydraulic or electric failure in the brake circuit. Good operator environment means a less fatigued operator and safer operation for both the operator and the environment. The main power switch and wellprotected electric cables minimise the risk of fire. A wide selection of lights, such as working lights, driving lights, warning flashers and hazard beacon enable operation of the machine even in darkness. 4

5 CC232HF CC322 Performance The machines are designed to ensure the best possible field of view both forward and to the rear past the low sloping profile of the water tanks. A clear view over the edge of the drum is one of the best in the market, thanks to the angled front forks, the travelling seat and steering wheel module, and the protruding cab. On machines without a cab, the railings can be folded outwards to achieve a similar effect to that of the protruding cab. The high vibration frequency by CC222HF and CC232HF in combination with low amplitude is ideal for thin asphalt layers with high stone content and facilitates efficient compaction without any risk of crushing the aggregate. An ample amount of water, possibly combined with an optional sprinkler-timer, and a large fuel tank permits efficient operation with few interruptions. Three-stage filtering of the sprinkler water, noncorrodible water tanks and a backup system for the water sprinklers also contribute to operational reliability. The large diameters of the drums make it possible to maintain high speed, even for first runs on soft asphalt compounds. Environment Dynapac AB is environment certified according to ISO This philosophy permeates the entire company; through the plant, the completed product and possible recycling. Examples of recycling are water tanks, fuel tanks and emulsion tanks which are made of recoverable polyethylene and are marked for correct recycling. The time is past when bio-fluid clogged filters and caused questionable functioning of the hydraulic system. This facilitates driving close to curb stones and also makes it possible to move the centre of gravity away from the edge of a road that is threatening to give way. The turning radius can be reduced considerably by allowing the articulation and the pivotal steering to interact. The asymetric cab has got a protruding part of the cab that gives the operator an optimal field of view over the edge of the drum without having to lean out through the side window. The symetric cab is for the customers who prefer a traditional styled cab. Both cab types are, as an optional, available with Automatic Climate Control (ACC). The possibility of using biologically degradable hydraulic fluid and the small amount of hydraulic fluid that is required promote an environmentally friendly system. Easily accessible hydraulic filter and fluid plug counteract the possible spilling of fluid. Sprinkler system The sprinkler system is one of the most important systems on an asphalt roller. Plastic water tanks and three-stage filtering minimise the risk of clogged sprinkler nozzles. The backup system enables a single sprinkler pump to supply both drums with water in the event that either pump fails. Split drum CC232HF is provided with split drums, which makes operating the roller easier and reduces the risk of cracks in the asphalt in tight turns or traffic roundabouts. All drum halves have drive and brakes to ensure short braking distances and favourable hill-climbing ability. Edge cutter/press The edge cutter is used to trim the edge of the asphalt prior to jointing. The press is used to strengthen the edge. It is located on the front right fork where the operator has full control of its operation.
