8 Check Valves Dixon Sanitary is the right connection for Quality Stainless Steel Check Valves The -A Sanitary Standards were originally created by the dairy industry as a voluntary benchmark for sanitary safety. The standards are still developed cooperatively by a group of processors, suppliers and sanitation specialists. Dixon Sanitary has earned the -A Symbol through the Third Party Verification (TPV) program, which requires a professional assessment rather than voluntary compliance to make certain each product conforms in all respects to the published standard. The standards are accepted by USDA and USFDA. Bradford check valves meet -A Sanitary Standards for Vacuum Breakers and Check Valves for Milk and Milk Products, Number Certificate number. See the Dixon Sanitary web site to download a PDF of the certificate Dixon Sanitary is proud to be a participant in the -A TPV program. Bradford Check Valves Spring check valves are designed to prevent reverse flow. The concentric design makes them ideal for vertical applications. Y-ball check valves are used where full flow and low pressure drop of product during processing is required. When the flow of product stops, the PTFE ball rolls back and seats, thus preventing backflow. The Bradford two-piece body design is available in ½" - " sizes. Air-blow check valves are used to clear lines of product or CIP solutions. Air connections available are air quick coupler, " hose barb and ½" FNPT. The Bradford air-blow check valve is stocked in " - " sizes. 9 Application Spring Check Valves Get control with the Bradford B5MP series Spring Check Valve. Full precision machined body, plunger, and flow plate are constructed of 6L stainless steel. Our valve meets -A requirements, and is designed for use in food, pharmaceutical, and other industries with sanitary requirements. Check Valves Working Principal Spring Check valves, also described as non-return valves, are designed to allow flow in one direction while preventing flow in the opposite direction. This valve is fully automatic. The pressure of the fluid flowing through the valve holds the plunger in the open position. When the pressure drop across the valve approaches zero, the spring will close the valve. Any reverse flow will firmly seat the plunger. The special angled plunger design and precision open/close operation prevent leaking through the valve in low pressure systems. 12 Check Valves Application Y-Ball Check Valves Get control with the Bradford Y-ball check valves. These valves are designed to prevent reverse flow in systems moving liquid products. Working Principal When liquid flows into the inlet, the PTFE ball rolls up into the branch of the valve allowing full fluid flow. When the flow stops, equalizing the pressure, the ball drops back into the seat, preventing backflow. Should reverse flow occur, the opposing pressure will cause the ball to seat firmly against the gasket preventing backflow. 17 Application Air Relief Valves Get control with the Bradford dependable air relief valve which can be installed vertically on top of a tank, container or tube where air removal is required. Examples: ) Bleeding of a tube line where an air pocket has formed because of the installation. This application calls for installation at the top of the tube. ) Bleeding of a tube on the suction side of a pump. The suction side is bled automatically, before the pump starts, establishing a vacuum. Binding of air to liquid will be prevented, and so will subsequent cavitation. In this application the valve is mounted in front of the pump, on the top of the inlet tube. Important: For correct installation, product density must be higher than the ball density. Use only pure liquids Must be vertically mounted Working Principal The Bradford air relief valve allows air to be removed from a line or container without the liquid flowing out. Its design does not allow air to enter the line or container, even if subjected to a negative pressure. The Bradford air relief valve is a double-seated valve with a freely moving Polypropylene ball. The ball, which is lighter than water, closes against the upper or lower seat, depending on the pressure conditions. These valves are simple, rugged and above all, dependable. Bradford butterfly valves can be used either as a shutoff valve (on/off service) or as a throttling valve (for flow control). Pneumatic or electric actuators are available for automated control. All Bradford butterfly valves are assembled without silicone lubricant. The slim design, superior craftsmanship, choice materials, top quality strength and surface finish make the B50 the preference of many industries with sanitary requirements. This clamp valve is an incredible -/8" wide on all sizes. The valve will fit into /" of line space. The grooved clamp housing connects directly to clamp style fittings. Two stops located on the side of the actuator allow a full ± 5 of valve travel adjustment, giving a guaranteed range of adjustment between 80 and 00 of actuator travel. These travel stops are designed to absorb the maximum rated torque of the actuator and the maximum impact loading associated with recommended stroke speed. No special blocks are required to mount solenoid valves, limit switches or positioners. The standard angle of rotation is 80. Additional travel rotations of 0, 5, 50 are available. MA06 and larger sizes feature a travel stop with ± 0 adjustment in both open and close directions (International Patent).
