7 Technical Description Vertical Drills : MDT 80 V Very powerful and compact drilling machine, thought out especially for heavy job site works, characterized by excellent manoeuvrability, reliability and high level of productivity, thanks to the adoption of many innovative technical solutions. During the design stage, active and passive safety devices were foreseen, to ensure maximum safety for the operator and other rig personnel. It is ideal for accomplishing micropiles, tie rods, jet grouting technology, coring and soil investigation works. Moreover, equipped with certain optional parts, it allows to carry out drilling works for water wells and geothermic drilling. Peculiarities, versatility and power A very high extraction force does not suffer any reduction while starting, thanks to the ram piston pullback system. Portable remote-control desk, or radio control upon request (VE version), that guarantees maximum safety condition and comfort to the operator, during placement, working phases and moving; in particular when climbing and drifting down from the transport carriage on the road. Automatic power division system in order to improve the drilling rig s performance and maintain the productivity at a high level. Automatic devices application facilitates the use of the rig even by less experienced personnel. Ample oversizing of structural parts in view of prevention of possible critical conditions due to eventual operator s mistakes. Even though the dimensions remain reduced, the possibility to install the engine of 162 hp with exceptional capacity permits to reach unequalled productivity levels. For high performance the rotary may be installed, with torque max. up to 32000Nm in the micropile version and max. speed of 600 revolutions per minute in the soil investigation version. Percussion kit is available. 7

8 Thanks to its exceptional power, it is possible to install the double rotary, with performance characteristics comparable to those of superior class machinery. 9 Accessories TR M Rotary head The Rotary head is equipped with four hydraulic orbital motors with double displacement feature. The combination of double displacement with series-parallel hydraulic power supply of the motors allows to obtain three different rotation speed and relative maximum torques. A manual selector placed on the rotary permits to set up a series or parallel power supply, while electrical selector, situated on the remote control desk, allows to choose between maximum or minimum displacement. A rotary stub-shaft has the 2 inches internal passage and finishes with a cone-shaped male thread 4 ½ A.P.I. Regular., is characterised by the possibility of free or floating movement, useful for protecting rod threads during drilling manoeuvres. Thanks to free passage of 120mm, once a floating stub-shaft is removed, it is possible to install a hydraulic chuck MP that may house Jetting rods with diameter of 90 or 114 mm or hydraulic chuck MP60-90 that may house Jetting rods with diameter of 60 or 76 or 90mm. 12 VE2000K Hydraulic winch The winch that is positioned on the top of the mast, is equipped with a transfer case and provided with pulley sheave made of special Teflon, mounted on the ball bearings. It also has one particular rope guiding device that in case of not perfectly aligned lifting, doesn t allow the rope to disentangle from the pulley, preserving it from early wearing and breaking. Besides, the VE2000K winch is provided with an anti-rotation rope and an adequate ballast to support a rope in tension when it is rewound without loading. The useful lifting height is approximately 7 m. This permits lifting of casing tubes. A speed control is proportional and is made with the help of specific manipulator that is positioned on the remote control console. 13 GR360 Mast rotation sled device The rotation group, equipped with fifth wheel group is moved by two hydraulic cylinders equipped with blocking valves. Placing cylinders into proper slots we get a 90 rotation per sector for a total of 180 reaching a full 360 rotation, with a mast in the up-side-down position. On request, it is possible to install one more articulation that permits the unit to rotate the mast easily to 90 to the parallel axis, on both sides, enabling the unit to accomplish drillings close to the walls (partitions), with the minimum movement of the crawler truck A trolley speed and a thrust force can be adjusted independently. 13
