4 CAUTION An Improperly Adjusted Door can cause injury and/or equipment damage. Inspect door operation daily using safety checklist in owner's manual and at door. Have door adjusted as described in Owner's Manual. Have door inspected at least annually by an AAADM certified inspector. In the following manual, the word: Caution means that injury or property damage can result from failure to follow instructions. Note is used to indicate important steps to be followed or important differences in equipment

5 To Our Customers The purpose of this manual is to familiarize you with your automatic door system. It is essential that you "know your system" and that you recognize the importance of maintaining your door system in compliance with the industry standards for safety. It is your responsibility, as owner or caretaker of the equipment, to inspect the operation of your door system on a daily basis to ensure that it is safe for use by your invitees, customers, or employees. This manual will provide you with a description of the operation and maintenance requirements of your door. It also provides the instructions for the Daily Safety Check. Should the door fail to operate as prescribed in the Daily Safety Check, or at any other time for any other reason, do not attempt to repair or adjust the door. Call an AAADM Certified technician. These technicians are trained to service your door in accordance with applicable industry safety standards. Service Availability Low energy automatic door products are distributed through a nationwide network of authorized suppliers for sales, installation, and service. Should you need service on your door system, consult the respective door manufacturer or its authorized representative. Compliance with Safety Standards Your door system was designed to the latest operating and safety standards. In order to ensure the continued safe operation of your door, it is important that - Your door system be maintained in compliance with the standards of the industry. - Proper signage and labels be applied and maintained on your doors. If signage is removed or cannot be read, request replacement when calling for service. AAADM, the American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers, has established a program to certify automatic door inspectors. Through this program, the inspectors are trained to check your door systems for compliance with the American National Standards Institute standard ANSI/BHMA A

6 What You Should Know Be sure that an automatic door supplier has provided the following for each door: 1. Instruction on how to conduct the Daily Safety Check* (by walk-through example). 2. Location of function switches and instruction in their use. 3. Circuit breaker or main power-disconnect location for each door system. 4. AAADM inspection form or a work order signed by an AAADM Certified Inspector. 5. A completed annual compliance inspection label located at the bottom of the safety information label affixed to the door. 6. Warranty information for each door. 7. Number to call for service or questions about your system if you are uncertain of any condition or situation. Note: If there are any problems, or if you are unsure about the safe performance of the door, discontinue door operation immediately and secure in a safe manner. Call an authorized automatic door professional for repair. *Note: AAADM Daily Safety Check videos are available. Contact your automatic door supplier or AAADM

7 Daily Safety Check Perform the following safety checks daily on each automatic swinging door to ensure your customers' safety and your own protection. Verify the following requirements while traffic is restricted. 1. Activate the door. Door should open at a slow smooth pace (4 seconds or more) and stop without impact. 2. Door must remain fully open for a minimum of 5 seconds before beginning to close. 3. Door should close at a slow smooth pace (4 seconds or more) and stop without impact. 4. Inspect the floor area. It should be clean with no loose parts that might cause user to trip or fall. Keep traffic path clear. 5. Inspect door s overall condition. The appropriate signage should be present and the hardware should be in good condition. 6. Have door inspected by an AAADM certified inspector at least annually. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, TURN OFF THE DOOR OPERATING EQUIPMENT AND CALL YOUR AUTOMATIC DOOR SUPPLIER. General Safety Pay attention to the following general safety items and perform checks periodically where noted. 1. Force. Force to prevent the door from closing should not exceed 15 pounds. This can be measured with a force gauge. 2. Breakout Stop. Center pivoted in-swinging doors may be supplied with an emergency breakout stop or switch that will allow the door to open in the direction of emergency egress. Call your supplier for details. When the door is pushed into the breakout mode, check that door will not activate. 3. Signage. Doors shall be equipped with (a) decal(s) visible from either side, instructing the user as to the operation and function of the door. The decal shall be mounted 50 inches, +/- 12 inches, from the floor to the centerline of the decal. The letters shall be 5/8 inch high minimum

8 Figure 1 ACTIVATE SWITCH A. All low energy doors shall be marked with a sign, visible from both sides of the door, with the words Automatic Caution Door. See Figure 1. The sign shall be a minimum of 6 inches in diameter and with minimum 5/8 inch tall black lettering on a yellow background. Additional information may be included. B. When a separate wall switch is used to initiate the operation of the door operator, the door shall be provided with decals on both sides of the door with the message Activate Switch to Operate or the side with the knowing act switch if there is only one. Letters white and background blue. See Figure 2. TO OPERATE C. When door motion is used to initiate the door operation, the doors shall be provided with the message Push to Operate on the push Figure 2 side of the door and Pull to Operate on the pull side of the door. There should be no looseness in the door pivots or in connections between door and operator. 5. Housekeeping. Check the door area for tripping or slipping hazards. 6. Check all door panels for damage. Make sure that all hardware and overhead covers are properly secured. There should be no bulletin boards, literature racks, merchandise displays, or other attractions in the door area that would interfere with use of the door or invite people to stop or stand in the door area. HEADER PREPARATION WARNING Shut off and disconnect all primary electrical power to the door header before proceeding any further. Disconnect all sensor wiring from the control and/or interface board. Keep the wiring available if you intend to re-use the sensors Disconnect all safety beam wiring from the control and/or interface board. Keep the wiring available if you intend to re-use the safety beams. Disconnect all switches from the control and/or interface. Keep the switches in place if you intend to re-use them for the retrofit. Remove the entire existing drive system from the header (motor/gearbox, control, interface, belt, chain, cables, etc.). Do not throw away any mounting hardware as it may be used to mount the DC One components (see drawings). BOX CORES and USED COMPONENTS (motor/gearbox, control, etc.) use the return shipping label and ship to Door Controls. 3. DOOR PREPARATION Remove and replace the bottom guides (If needed). Remove and replace top rollers (If needed). IMPORTANT NOTE: Manual resistance of the sliding panels, with no belt attached, should not exceed 8 lb for bi-parts, or 4 lb for single slides. Use a force gauge to push against the door to slide it open and closed to check the resistance. Be sure to check for mechanical door stops at each end of the header. If door stops are missing, they may be ordered as an accessory from Door Controls. Do not install new belt brackets yet, this will allow more working room when installing the control and related wiring. 4. MOTOR AND CONTROLLER INSTALLATION Install DC One motor/gearbox and controller per the instructions shown on the enclosed drawing. DC One V3 Installation Manual Page 2 of 15 M-0015 REV P8

15 5. WIRING OF ACCESSORIES Complete all wiring. Refer to the wiring diagrams in Sections 11 and 18. Be sure to complete the wiring for any accessories that may be required as well: Activation Sensors Safety Sensors Safety Beams On-Off Switch Emergency Breakout Switch Electric Carriage Lock (accessory) Reduced Opening Switch (accessory) 1-Way Switch (accessory) 6. DRIVE BELT AND BRACKET INSTALLATION Upon completion of all wiring, the drive belt, related brackets and idler pulley may be installed. Refer to the detailed dimensions drawing that came with the package to determine all mounting locations. When complete, install the drive belt and tension to result in approximately 1 to 2 deflection overall up and down at the center of the greatest span between clamp and pulley. The belt may need to be cut to the correct length. Use a strong pair of wire cutters to make a clean cut. Check to make sure there are no wires that could be potentially caught by the moving parts. With the belt installed and tensioned, move the doors manually to their full open and then full closed position and ensure that they slide without binding or obstruction. 7. CONNECTING POWER Connect and apply main power to the control. Perform a factory reset Refer to Sections 12 and 13. Press the TEST button on the DC One control to trigger an activation cycle. When the learn cycle is complete, normal operation will resume according to default values set in the control. Fine-tuning of the control may be necessary at this point. Other than door handing and breakout polarity, the most common adjustments are for speed, force and time. Although there are more adjustments if needed. See Sections 12 & 13 for further instructions. 8. WALK TEST Check all functions to ensure proper operation REMEMBER Even if a door is designated for 1-way traffic, a secondary activation sensor is still required at the side not intended for approach. The activation zone must extend to at least 24 out from the face of the door With the door switch off, make sure the doors are fully closed. SAFETY TEST AND DOCUMENTATION When all DC One and sensor adjustments are complete, perform a thorough safety test to validate proper and safe performance in accordance with current ANSI A guidelines as well as recommendations prescribed by the American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers (AAADM). Door Controls recommends this step be performed by an AAADM certified door inspector. Walk toward the door at a normal pace. The door should open when you are about 4 feet from the door. Stand motionless on threshold for at least 10 seconds. The door should not close. Move clear of the area. The door should remain open for at least 1.5 seconds and should close slowly and smoothly. Repeat steps 1 through 3 from the other direction if door is used for two way traffic. Inspect the floor area. It should be clean with no loose parts that might cause the user to trip or fall. Keep traffic path clear. Inspect door s overall condition. The appropriate signage should be present. Have door inspected by an AAADM certified inspector at least annually. DO NOT USE DOOR if it fails any of these safety checks or if it malfunctions in any way. Be sure to place an AAADM Daily Safety Check decal on the door (usually near the On-Off switch). Document all work, obtain signatures on all work orders, and instruct the owner on door operation. TROUBLE SHOOTING TIPS Before wiring any sensors into the DC One control, it is a good idea to apply power and test the door to ensure it will power open and closed when the TEST button is pressed. Use caution during this test as the sensors will not be operational The following inputs have status LEDs to help identify problems: Power Safety Control On Inner Sensor Door Locked Outer Sensor Heartbeat Emergency Open One Way Ratchet Partial Open Activation Hold Open Breakout Reset Night Mode The heartbeat LED should be blinking. If not, cycle power on the control. If the heartbeat LED is still not blinking, the control is malfunctioning and should be replaced. If programming of the control is unsuccessful, it is easiest to restore the default values and then start over, rather than trying to correct any faulty programming. When power is applied, the door powers open and stays open. Motion or presence sensor output is being held (closed circuit). If unsure which sensor, unplug one by one until fault is isolated. Correct as necessary. Safety beam is blocked or is faulty. Correct as necessary. Door handing is set incorrectly. Enter program mode and change hands. Door powers closed and then stay closed. Press the TEST button on the face of the DC One control. Door should power open and then close. If it does not open, door handing is set incorrectly. Enter program mode and change hands. Door will not open or close. As a first step, always check the DC One digital display for error messages and proceed accordingly. Breakout switch is not wired properly. If red light is on for breakout function on I/O interface, it means that the control is in a breakout condition. Check to ensure breakout polarity is set correctly. On/Off switch is not wired properly or it is in the off position. If the switch is in the on position, the green LED to the left of the display will be on. Important Upon completion of your retrofit, ensure all functions of the door perform satisfactorily. Walk-test the door according to AAADM recommended guidelines and correct all discrepancies, if any, before leaving the job site. DO NOT compromise proper performance. If repairs cannot be immediately made, shut the door OFF and inform the owner of any special instructions and corrective actions. 39 Daily Safety Check (All figures and diagrams are for purposes of illustration only) Perform the following safety checks daily on each automatic swinging door to ensure your customers' safety and your own protection. Perform these tests while traffic is restricted from all detection and sensing zones. Sensor Activation / Presence Detection Safety 1. Check electronic sensor by walking toward the door opening at a moderate speed. The door should start opening when you are about four feet from the door, should open smoothly and stop at fully open without impact. Move slowly through the door opening (6 inches per second), stop in the swing path and pause for 10 seconds. The door should remain open. If two way traffic, repeat from the other side of the door. 2. Step out of the sensor zone. After a brief time delay (at least 1 1/2 seconds) the door should close smoothly and without impact. 3. For one way traffic doors, approach the safety side of the door, then have someone else approach the activating side of the door. Figure 1 If the door is equipped with an overhead mounted presence sensor, as long as you are in the safety area of the door it should not open. (See Figure 1) If the door is equipped with a door mounted presence sensor, the door may start to open but should reverse, stop, or slow down. (See Figure 2). 4. Crouch motionless in the door opening for at least 4 seconds. If the door is equipped with an overhead mounted presence sensor, the door should not close. If the door is equipped with a door mounted presence sensor, the door should reverse, stop, or slow down. Caution: If safety sensor is not working, door may swing toward you without stopping. 40 Floor Mat Activation/Floor Mat Safety 1. Step on the "opening" (activating) mat. 2. It is necessary to have a safety mat covering the entire area the door swings over. Step through the doorway onto the safety mat and remain motionless for 4 seconds. The door should remain open. Repeat at several locations on the mat. (See Figure 3 or 4) 3. Step off the safety mat. After a brief time delay (at least 1 1/2 seconds) the door should close smoothly and without impact. 4. With the door closed, step on the safety mat on the swing side. Have someone step on the activating mat. Door should remain closed as long as someone remains on the safety mat. Figure 3 Caution: If safety mat is not working, door may swing toward you without stopping. 5. Check the mat molding and threshold. It should be complete and secured with all required screws. Double Egress-Using Knowing Act 1. Double Egress doors are commonly activated by a knowing act switch. Momentarily operate knowing act switch. Doors should open smoothly and stop at fully open without impact. Doors should remain fully open for a minimum of 5 seconds before closing. Figure 4 2. As the door closes, approach the door from the non-swing side, and the door should reopen. Continue across the threshold and stand motionless for 10 seconds. Door should not contact you. 3. Continue through the door and the door should start closing after a minimum of five seconds. Door should close smoothly and without impact. 4. Approach the safety side of the door. Have someone else activate the knowing act switch. If the door is equipped with an overhead mounted presence sensor, as long as you are in the safety area of the door, it should not open. (See Figure 5) 5. If the door is equipped with a door mounted presence sensor, the door may start to open but should reverse, stop, or slow down. (See Figure 6) Figure 5 6. 41 General Safety Pay attention to the following general safety items and conduct checks periodically where noted. 1. Force Force to prevent the door from closing should not exceed 30 pounds. This can be measured with a force gauge. 2. Breakout Stop. Center pivoted in-swinging doors may be supplied with an emergency breakout stop or switch that will allow the door to open in the direction of emergency egress. Call your supplier for details. Figure 6 When the door is pushed into the breakout mode, check that door will not activate. 3. Signage. The door should have decals properly displayed as follows at a height 58 inches, ±5 inches from the floor to the centerline of the sign (unless otherwise noted). The decal shall be a minimum of 6 inches in diameter (unless otherwise noted): AUTOMATIC DOOR Figure 7 Figure 8 A. If one way traffic, an arrow (See Figure 7) shall be visible from the approach side of a swinging door, mounted on the door. The decal shall have a green circle surrounding a black arrow on a white background. The words Automatic Door with letters ½ inch high shall be visible from the approach side. B. If one-way traffic, an international "DO NOT ENTER" decal (See Figure 8) shall be visible from the side that would swing toward pedestrians attempting to travel in the wrong direction. The decal shall have a red circle with the wording, "Do Not Enter", in white letters in the red circle. The words Automatic Door with letters ½ inch high shall be visible from the side that would swing toward pedestrians attempting to travel in the wrong direction. C. Swinging doors serving two-way traffic shall be marked with a decal, visible from both sides of the door, with the words " Automatic CAUTION Door". (See Figure 9) The letters in the words "Automatic Door" must be at least ½ inch high. The sign shall be made with black lettering on yellow background. D. One way traffic doors shall be marked on the non swing side with a decal with the words "Automatic Door". The letters in "Automatic Door" must be at least ½ inch high. Figure 9 E. Double egress doors shall be marked with a decal, visible from the swing side of the door, with the words "Automatic CAUTION Door". On the non-swing side, the words Automatic Door with letters ½ inch high shall be visible. 3/6/06 6

42 AUTOMATIC DOOR ACTIVATE SWITCH TO OPERATE Figure 10 F. An AAADM safety information label should be affixed on the door or frame in a protected, visible location. If you need additional decals or labels for automatic doors, call your automatic door supplier. 4. Activating Switch. (Knowing Act) Doors equipped with a manual activating switch shall hold fully open for a minimum of 5 seconds before closing. Doors equipped with a manual activating switch shall have a decal as follows: Automatic Door. Activate Switch to Operate. The decal should be visible from both sides of the door or the side with the knowing act switch if there is only one. (See Figure 10). Figure Guide Rails. Check that guide rails or other barriers or separators are present (two per swing door side) and firmly anchored. Rail length should be the width of the open door or greater. (See Figures 11, 12, 13). 6. Lock Stile. With door open, grasp lock stile of door and attempt to move vertically and horizontally. There should be no looseness in the door pivots or in connections between door and operator. 7. Housekeeping. Check the door area for tripping or slipping hazards. Figure 12 FINGERGUARD Check all door panels for damage. Make sure that all hardware and overhead covers are properly secured. There should be no bulletin boards, literature racks, merchandise displays, or other attractions in the door area that would interfere with use of the door or invite people to stop or stand in the door area. 8. Traffic Patterns. Observe traffic patterns. Plan routing so people enter and exit in a straight approach, directly toward the center of the door opening. 9. Finger Guard. If installed, inspect finger guard to see that it is secure and in good repair. 43 Operation The typical installation includes a small control panel on one endcap of the header assembly. The panel is composed of (a) Three position rocker switch providing ON / OFF / OPEN functions; (b) Red LED indicator; (c) Black reset button. In standard operation, the red LED is not illuminated. If a problem occurs, inhibiting door operation, the LED will flash slowly (once per second). To resolve, press and hold the black button until the flashing stops (6 8 seconds). This will reset the unit, clear the alarm, and turn off the LED. Please note, if the condition that caused the alarm has not been corrected, the alarm will occur again. Alternatively, a three position toggle switch providing ON / OFF / HOLD OPEN functions may be mounted on the door jamb, adjacent framing, or at a remote location. Warranty We warrant to the buyer that record-usa door systems have been manufactured from highgrade materials with first-class workmanship. Subject to the other conditions of this Warranty, if any parts of our own manufacture prove defective under normal use and service within two years of purchase (6100 swing series within one year of purchase), we shall repair or replace such parts free of cost. If any equipment or parts not of our own manufacture are utilized in connection with this door operator and equipment, we shall assume responsibility and liability for defects only to the extent of such adjustment as the manufacturer thereof makes to us. It is the responsibility of the buyer to furnish all labor and expense necessary to replace the part. The warranty shall not extend beyond two years from the date of purchase regardless of any replacements, which may be made. Our obligations under this Warranty are conditional upon the buyers having (1) given us prompt written notice of alleged defects, and (2) upon our request, returned the allegedly defective item(s) within 30 days to our works in Monroe, North Carolina, freight prepaid, for our inspection. We shall have no obligation or liability, under this Warranty or otherwise, in the event of 1) improper installation or application of product; 2) misuse, neglect or accident; and 3) installation, service, repair or alteration in any way by any person not expressly authorized in writing for such purpose. 47 Daily Safety Check (All figures and diagrams are for purposes of illustration only) Perform the following safety checks daily on each automatic swinging door to ensure your customers' safety and your own protection. Perform these tests while traffic is restricted from all detection and sensing zones. Sensor Activation / Presence Detection Safety 1. Check electronic sensor by walking toward the door opening at a moderate speed. The door should start opening when you are about four feet from the door, should open smoothly and stop at fully open without impact. Move slowly through the door opening (6 inches per second), stop in the swing path and pause for 10 seconds. The door should remain open. If two way traffic, repeat from the other side of the door. 2. Step out of the sensor zone. After a brief time delay (at least 1 1/2 seconds) the door should close smoothly and without impact. 3. For one way traffic doors, approach the safety side of the door, then have someone else approach the activating side of the door. Figure 1 If the door is equipped with an overhead mounted presence sensor, as long as you are in the safety area of the door it should not open. (See Figure 1) If the door is equipped with a door mounted presence sensor, the door may start to open but should reverse, stop, or slow down. (See Figure 2). 4. Crouch motionless in the door opening for at least 4 seconds. If the door is equipped with an overhead mounted presence sensor, the door should not close. If the door is equipped with a door mounted presence sensor, the door should reverse, stop, or slow down. Caution: If safety sensor is not working, door may swing toward you without stopping. 48 Floor Mat Activation/Floor Mat Safety 1. Step on the "opening" (activating) mat. 2. It is necessary to have a safety mat covering the entire area the door swings over. Step through the doorway onto the safety mat and remain motionless for 4 seconds. The door should remain open. Repeat at several locations on the mat. (See Figure 3 or 4) 3. Step off the safety mat. After a brief time delay (at least 1 1/2 seconds) the door should close smoothly and without impact. 4. With the door closed, step on the safety mat on the swing side. Have someone step on the activating mat. Door should remain closed as long as someone remains on the safety mat. Figure 3 Caution: If safety mat is not working, door may swing toward you without stopping. 5. Check the mat molding and threshold. It should be complete and secured with all required screws. Double Egress-Using Knowing Act 1. Double Egress doors are commonly activated by a knowing act switch. Momentarily operate knowing act switch. Doors should open smoothly and stop at fully open without impact. Doors should remain fully open for a minimum of 5 seconds before closing. Figure 4 2. As the door closes, approach the door from the non-swing side, and the door should reopen. Continue across the threshold and stand motionless for 10 seconds. Door should not contact you. 3. Continue through the door and the door should start closing after a minimum of five seconds. Door should close smoothly and without impact. 4. Approach the safety side of the door. Have someone else activate the knowing act switch. If the door is equipped with an overhead mounted presence sensor, as long as you are in the safety area of the door, it should not open. (See Figure 5) 5. If the door is equipped with a door mounted presence sensor, the door may start to open but should reverse, stop, or slow down. (See Figure 6) Figure 5 6. 49 General Safety Pay attention to the following general safety items and conduct checks periodically where noted. 1. Force Force to prevent the door from closing should not exceed 30 pounds. This can be measured with a force gauge. 2. Breakout Stop. Center pivoted in-swinging doors may be supplied with an emergency breakout stop or switch that will allow the door to open in the direction of emergency egress. Call your supplier for details. Figure 6 When the door is pushed into the breakout mode, check that door will not activate. 3. Signage. The door should have decals properly displayed as follows at a height 58 inches, ±5 inches from the floor to the centerline of the sign (unless otherwise noted). The decal shall be a minimum of 6 inches in diameter (unless otherwise noted): AUTOMATIC DOOR Figure 7 Figure 8 A. If one way traffic, an arrow (See Figure 7) shall be visible from the approach side of a swinging door, mounted on the door. The decal shall have a green circle surrounding a black arrow on a white background. The words Automatic Door with letters ½ inch high shall be visible from the approach side. B. If one-way traffic, an international "DO NOT ENTER" decal (See Figure 8) shall be visible from the side that would swing toward pedestrians attempting to travel in the wrong direction. The decal shall have a red circle with the wording, "Do Not Enter", in white letters in the red circle. The words Automatic Door with letters ½ inch high shall be visible from the side that would swing toward pedestrians attempting to travel in the wrong direction. C. Swinging doors serving two-way traffic shall be marked with a decal, visible from both sides of the door, with the words " Automatic CAUTION Door". (See Figure 9) The letters in the words "Automatic Door" must be at least ½ inch high. The sign shall be made with black lettering on yellow background. D. One way traffic doors shall be marked on the non swing side with a decal with the words "Automatic Door". The letters in "Automatic Door" must be at least ½ inch high. Figure 9 E. Double egress doors shall be marked with a decal, visible from the swing side of the door, with the words "Automatic CAUTION Door". On the non-swing side, the words Automatic Door with letters ½ inch high shall be visible. 3/6/06 6

50 AUTOMATIC DOOR ACTIVATE SWITCH TO OPERATE Figure 10 F. An AAADM safety information label should be affixed on the door or frame in a protected, visible location. If you need additional decals or labels for automatic doors, call your automatic door supplier. 4. Activating Switch. (Knowing Act) Doors equipped with a manual activating switch shall hold fully open for a minimum of 5 seconds before closing. Doors equipped with a manual activating switch shall have a decal as follows: Automatic Door. Activate Switch to Operate. The decal should be visible from both sides of the door or the side with the knowing act switch if there is only one. (See Figure 10). Figure Guide Rails. Check that guide rails or other barriers or separators are present (two per swing door side) and firmly anchored. Rail length should be the width of the open door or greater. (See Figures 11, 12, 13). 6. Lock Stile. With door open, grasp lock stile of door and attempt to move vertically and horizontally. There should be no looseness in the door pivots or in connections between door and operator. 7. Housekeeping. Check the door area for tripping or slipping hazards. Figure 12 FINGERGUARD Check all door panels for damage. Make sure that all hardware and overhead covers are properly secured. There should be no bulletin boards, literature racks, merchandise displays, or other attractions in the door area that would interfere with use of the door or invite people to stop or stand in the door area. 8. Traffic Patterns. Observe traffic patterns. Plan routing so people enter and exit in a straight approach, directly toward the center of the door opening. 9. Finger Guard. If installed, inspect finger guard to see that it is secure and in good repair. 51 Operation The typical installation includes a small control panel on one endcap of the header assembly. The panel is composed of (a) Three position rocker switch providing ON / OFF / OPEN functions; (b) Red LED indicator; (c) Black reset button. In standard operation, the red LED is not illuminated. If a problem occurs, inhibiting door operation, the LED will flash slowly (once per second). To resolve, press and hold the black button until the flashing stops (6 8 seconds). This will reset the unit, clear the alarm, and turn off the LED. Please note, if the condition that caused the alarm has not been corrected, the alarm will occur again. Alternatively, a three position toggle switch providing ON / OFF / HOLD OPEN functions may be mounted on the door jamb, adjacent framing, or at a remote location. Warranty We warrant to the buyer that record-usa door systems have been manufactured from highgrade materials with first-class workmanship. Subject to the other conditions of this Warranty, if any parts of our own manufacture prove defective under normal use and service within two years of purchase (6100 swing series within one year of purchase), we shall repair or replace such parts free of cost. If any equipment or parts not of our own manufacture are utilized in connection with this door operator and equipment, we shall assume responsibility and liability for defects only to the extent of such adjustment as the manufacturer thereof makes to us. It is the responsibility of the buyer to furnish all labor and expense necessary to replace the part. The warranty shall not extend beyond two years from the date of purchase regardless of any replacements, which may be made. Our obligations under this Warranty are conditional upon the buyers having (1) given us prompt written notice of alleged defects, and (2) upon our request, returned the allegedly defective item(s) within 30 days to our works in Monroe, North Carolina, freight prepaid, for our inspection. We shall have no obligation or liability, under this Warranty or otherwise, in the event of 1) improper installation or application of product; 2) misuse, neglect or accident; and 3) installation, service, repair or alteration in any way by any person not expressly authorized in writing for such purpose. However, in no case shall we have any obligation or liability beyond two years after original installation or any replacement or repairs that may be made. It is your responsibility, as owner or caretaker of the equipment, to inspect the operation of your door system on a daily basis to ensure that it is safe for use by your invitees, customers, or employees. This manual will provide you with a description of the operation and maintenance requirements of your door. It also provides the instructions for the Daily Safety Check. Should the door fail to operate as prescribed in the Daily Safety Check, or at any other time for any other reason, do not attempt to repair or adjust the door. Call an AAADM Certified technician. These technicians are trained to service your door in accordance with applicable industry safety standards. Compliance with Safety Standards Your door system was designed to the latest operating and safety standards. MANUFACTURED AUTOMATIC DOOR UNITS: Type Series 4440-S Standard For use with a new factory prepared Horton Side Load or Bottom Load 4000 Operator (remanufactured or rebuilt operators will not be accepted). The operator is to be mounted with supplied hardware within a 12 gauge galvanealed housing specifically designed by Automated Door Solutions by La Force. The housing is to be concealed in the floor or within the concrete block out area. The operator housing shall have structural welded end caps (no other method of bonding will be accepted). The housing shall be 28 long for a single swing or two 28 housings joined with a welded in place structural coupler for a pair swing (plastic, ABS or PVC coupler will not be accepted). The unit shall have top access cover plates with set in place gasketing material. Cover plates are to be held in place with machine screws and sealed aircraft grade riv-nuts (sheet metal screws will not be accepted). Output shaft shall be a minimum of 1" diameter and held in place by two, top and bottom, sealed bearings to sufficiently support lateral load. Output shaft shall penetrate housing cover plate through water resistant seal. OPERATOR: The Electric Operating Mechanism shall be Series 4000: Operator shall be isolation mounted and concealed in an extruded aluminum case for smooth and quiet operation. Maximum current draw shall not exceed 3.15 amps. 1. Opening action shall be accomplished by a 1/8 HP D.C. permanent magnet motor working through reduction gears to the output shaft. Gear train bearings shall be sealed ball bearing types. 2. Closing action shall be accomplished by a maximum-duty Quadracoil spring (four independent coil springs separated by teflon discs and enclosed in an external spring box) with a lifetime warranty. Close speed control shall be supplied by dynamic braking of the motor and shall be fully adjustable. Operator to act as a manual closer when power is off or when the master control unit is removed. CONTROL: All high voltage components inclusive of the master control unit, power supply and close speed potentiometer shall be located in UL 50 Type 1, CSA Certified Type 1, NEMA/EEMAC Type 1 Hinged wallmount enclosure which is to be interior remotely located within one hundred (100) feet of the door operator enclosure. 73 1. Master Control: Shall incorporate the following features: a. Adjustable time delay of 1 to 28 seconds. b. Infinite adjustment to opening and open check speeds including adjusting the opening force without affecting the opening speed. c. Immediate reversal of door motion without undue strain on the drive train. This will be accomplished by supplying stepped voltage to the motor. The door shall reverse when closing if an object stops the door. d. Motor Protection Circuit: A locked door motor protection circuit will be supplied that will shut off current to the motor when the door is inadvertently locked or otherwise prevented from opening RELATED EQUIPMENT A. BASIC SENSOR SYSTEM: Shall be 24 VAC, class ll circuit Vista package and shall incorporate the following: 1. Activation sensor: Shall be one of the following: a. Enhanced Vista system shall utilize same activation sensor and swing side safety sensor as basic Vista system but shall include additional door mounted presence sensors for each side of the swinging door panel. The door mounted presence sensors shall be an advanced presence sensor utilizing focused active infrared technology to provide safety zone protection for swing doors. 75 UNDER THE ORIGINAL FLOOR OPERATOR 4400-U SERIES EXTERIOR ELEVATION 4400-U Our 4400-U Under the Floor Series is designed to perform with the installation of NEW automatic door operators and controls as supplied by the specified manufacture and/or distributors. This product is not designed for the use and conversion of existing, previously installed, re-manufactured or rebuilt overhead automatic door operators. The 4400 s mount under the floor, on the ceiling of the floor directly below the door and act as the lower portion door pivot, closer and operator. We use two sealed shaft flange bearings and one thrust bearing allowing our standard 4400-U to support doors weighing up to 1000 lbs. Larger capacities are available. This design is used when building restrictions prevent the operator from being mounted in the floor, yet there is a floor, basement or parking structure below the door. This design requires a 2 cored hole through the floor to the floor below. It also require ceiling access from the floor below. SECTION 4400-U
