1 Master Slave 1 Slave (n + 1) Master Slave 1 Slave (n + 1) Simplified Master / Slave operation GENERAL is a CIAT electronic control system designed to control non-independent air conditioning terminal units (fan coil units, UTAs, Cassettes, etc.) for 2 pipe, 2 pipe / 2 wire and 4 pipe applications using recycled air. It is available for control on water (with 2-way or 4-way valves). The drives electrothermal 24V valve actuators. control is available as a flush-mounting version factory fitted in a sill-mounted fan coil unit or wall-mounting version to be connected by the installer. control can operate in Master / Slave configuration. One master can control up to 15 slaves (recommended limit). Two wires lead from the master to the first slave, then two wires lead on to the second slave, etc. There is no need for any wires to leave the last slave. The master communicates the following information to the slaves: setpoints, air and water temperatures, on/off and speeds, economy input status, window contact status. If a slave has its own sensor (air or water), this measurement takes priority over the information from the master. Single-zone centralised cabinet control possible (see example application). DESCRIPTION units use Proportional Integral control, controlling the valve(s), electric heater and three-speed ventilation. selects automatically or manually the ventilation speeds. The control parameters (proportional band, integration time) are pre-set but two configurations can be selected on site (slow or fast). There are two adjustable setpoint temperatures, for heating (factory setting 19 C) and cooling (factory setting 23 C). Temperature settings can be modified on a range of ±6 K. The heating and cooling stages start automatically (neutral zone 3 to 6K, factory setting 6K). The integrates all calculations. The control unit is used to adjust the setpoint within the predefined range and turn the unit on or off. Turning the unit off guarantees a frost protection temperature (setpoint 8 C). A window contact is used to confirm a change to frost protection operation. An economy contact can be used to set reduced mode. It may be used in conjunction with a programmable timer, key, etc. (setpoints reduced by 5 K). If using a clock, consult "single centralised zone control". See our user's brochure for more details. 3 SINGLE CENTRALISED ZONE CONTROL This application example enables a zone containing up to 50 terminal units to be controlled with a control loop. A pilot control loop, fitted in an electrical cabinet outside the offices, allows a centralised remote control. This pilot control loop feeds an extra programmed and a terminal. This control loop includes an extra-parametered regulator and a terminal connected to this regulator. This terminal allows: - the setting temperature adjustment, factory adjustment at the medium point, heating setpoint: 19 C, cooling setpoint: 25 C, modifiable on a scale of ± 6K. - the automatic or manual ventilation speeds regulation: If the auto-speed is selected on the cabinet terminal, then the unit potential terminals can choose a manual ventilation speed. If a manual speed is selected on the cabinet terminal, then the unit potential terminals are fixed on this selected speed. - the operating mode adjustment: Comfort or frost free. If the is in the frost free position, the units potential terminals are blocked on stop. A clock can be wired to this pilot to program Comfort / Economy modes. A second clock can be wired to program anti-freeze modes during office vacations for example (weekends, holidays, ) Two applications are available: A : Centralised control for independent offices. The independent terminal units are fitted with a terminal and a temperature sensor, users will be allowed to change the temperature set-point within ±2 C of the value sent by the pilot, switch on the anti-freeze mode by the on/off button, and control manually fan speeds. Master/Slave groups per office cannot be re-created in this function. B : Centralised single-zone control Each independent terminal unit has its own temperature sensor.
