1 2006 TL - Driving Position Memory Switch Test/Replacement 1. Remove the driver's door panel. 2. Disconnect the 10P connector from the memory switch (A). A
2 3. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table. 4. If the continuity check is not as specified, replace the bulbs (B), or remove the screws and replace the switch.
3 2006 TL - Front Door Panel Removal/Installation Special Tools Required KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 Trim pad remover, Snap-on A 177A or equivalent, commercially available NOTE: Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components. 1. Lower the glass fully. 2. Using a trim tool, push on the rear hook (A) and pivot the cover (B) on the front hook (C), then remove the cover and the screws (D) securing the inner handle (E). 3. Remove the door panel (A) with as little bending as possible to avoid creasing or breaking it. -1 Remove the stopper (B) and screw (C) from the door panel. -2 Release the clips (D) that hold the door panel with a commercially available trim pad remover. -3 Starting at the rear, pull the door panel upward, then release the lock knob (E). -3 NOTE: The inner handle cable (F) is connected to the door panel. Do not pull the door panel up too far, or the inner handle cable will be damaged. 4. While holding the door panel (A) away from the door, disconnect the inner handle cable (B), driving position memory switch connector (C) (driver's door), power
4 door lock switch connector (D), power window switch connector (E, F), harness connector (G) (driver's door), door courtesy light harness clips (H) (passenger's door), and remove the door courtesy light (I) (passenger's door ) by turning it counterclockwise one quarter turn. 5. If necessary, remove the door glass inner weatherstrip (A) from the door panel (B) by pulling it down. 6. Remove the screws (A), then remove the door grip (B). 7. Remove the power window switch panel (A). -1 Remove the screws (B), then remove the armrest (C).
5 8. Remove the screws (A, B), then remove the door trim (C). 9. Remove the inner handle (A) by releasing the hook (B). 10. Install the door panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Replace any damaged clips. Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the cable is connected properly. Make sure the window and power door lock operate properly. Reset the power window control unit on the door that the panel was removed from.
6 2006 TL - Power Seat Control Unit Input Test NOTE: Before troubleshooting the DPMS, troubleshoot the multiplex integrated control system first using B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A. 1. Turn the ignition switch OFF. 2. Remove the driver's power seat. NOTE: Be careful not to scratch the interior trim. 3. Disconnect the connectors from the power seat control unit (A). NOTE: All connectors view are from wire side of female terminals. 4. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact. If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary and recheck the system. If the terminals look OK, go to step With the power seat control unit still disconnected, make these input tests at the connectors. If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, the control unit must be faulty; replace it. Poor ground (G501, G503, G601) A9 YEL/GRN Ignition switch ON (II) Check for voltage to ground:there should be battery voltage. Blown No. 20 (7.5 A or 15 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box A10 GRY/BLU Under all Check for voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage. Blown No. 15 (40 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box Blown No. 6 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box B3 WHT/BLU Under all Check for voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage. Blown No. 20 (40 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box Blown No. 14 (20 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box D4 WHT/RED Under all Check for voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage. Blown No. 20 (40 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box Blown No. 16 (20 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box A14 PNK Under all Check for continuity between the B4 terminal and under-dash fuse/relay box connector G (6P) No. 1 terminal: There should be continuity. An open in the wire Under-dash fuse/relay Check for continuity between the A14 terminal and body ground: A short to ground in the wire
7 IN box There should be no continuity. connector G (6P) disconnected C4 PUR Under all Check for continuity between the C4 terminal and power mirror control unit connector No. 23 terminal: There should be continuity end.
