Devce s not sutable for dsconnecton from supply voltage. The load s not electrcally solated from the mans even when the devce s swtched off. Rsk of destructon f the set operatng mode and load type do not match. Set correct operatng mode before connectng or exchangng the load. Fre hazard. For operaton wth nductve transformers, each transformer must be fused on the prmary sde n accordance wth the manufacturer's nstructons. Only safety transformers accordng to EN may be used. These nstructons are an ntegral part of the product, and must reman wth the end customer. 2 Functon Intended use - Swtchng and dmmng of lghtng - Mountng n applance box accordng to DIN Operaton wth sutable cover from LB management Product characterstcs - Devce works accordng to the leadng edge phase control or tralng edge phase control prncple - Automatc or manual settng of the dmmng prncple sutable for the load - Dsplay of the set operatng mode by means LED - Devce can be operated wthout neutral conductor - Swtch-on va bulb-preservng soft start - Swtch on wth last saved brghtness or saved swtch-on brghtness - Swtch-on brghtness can be saved permanently - Mnmum brghtness can be saved permanently - Connecton of extensons possble - Electronc short-crcut protecton wth permanent swtch-off after 7 seconds at the latest - Electronc over-temperature protecton Flckerng of the connected lamps due to undershoot of the specfed mnmum load or through centralsed pulses from the power statons. Ths does not represent any defect n the devce. Bref flckerng upon load detecton possble. No operaton s possble durng load detecton. Power extenson possble by means of power boosters. 3 Operaton These nstructons descrbe operaton wth a button cover. Operaton wth dfferent covers s descrbed n the nstructons for the cover n queston. Operaton usng 2-wre or 3-wre extenson wth button cover or push-button essentally corresponds to operaton on the man devce. Swtch lght o Press the button cover brefly: Lght swtches on or off. 1/7

2 3-wre extenson: Press top to swtch on, press bottom to swtch off. Adjust the brghtness Lght s swtched on. o Long press on button cover at the top. The lght gets brghter up to maxmum brghtness. o Long press on button cover at the bottom. Lght gets darker to mnmum brghtness. Swtch lght on wth mnmum brghtness o Long press on button cover at the bottom. Lght swtches on at mnmum brghtness. o Long press on button cover at the top or push-button. Lght swtches on at mnmum brghtness and gets brghter. Save swtch-on brghtness In the state as suppled, the swtch-on brghtness s set to maxmum brghtness. o Set lght to the requred brghtness. o Press the button cover over entre surface for longer than 4 seconds. Swtch-on brghtness s saved. For confrmaton, the lght s swtched off brefly and swtched on agan. Delete swtch-on brghtness o Press the button cover brefly: Lght swtches on at the saved swtch-on brghtness. o Press the button cover over entre surface for longer than 4 seconds. The swtch-on brghtness s deleted. Swtchng on takes place at the last brghtness value set. For confrmaton, the lght s swtched off brefly and swtched on agan. Operaton va push-button as extenson o Press the push-button brefly: Lght swtches on or off. o Long press on the push-button: Adjust the brghtness. The dmmng drecton s changed wth each new long actuaton. Savng or deletng the swtch-on brghtness s not possble. 4 Informaton for electrcally sklled persons 4.1 Fttng and electrcal connecton DANGER! When connectng transformers, observe the data of the transformer manufacturer. The connected load and dmmer qualty on LED lamps are dependent on the type of lamp and nstallaton condtons. The connected load of the specfed values could vary. We cannot assume any guarantee for proper functon. The maxmum brghtness can be reduced dependng on the type of lamp. When operatng wthout a neutral conductor there could be an ncreased lkelhood of unsutable combnatons of dmmer and LED lamps. Operaton wth a neutral conductor can reduce both effects. Lt push-buttons must have a separate N termnal. 3/7

Reset the overheatng protecton / short-crcut protecton If the electronc overheatng or short-crcut protecton has been actvated, separate the dmmer from the grd. 4.2 Commssonng Operatng mode: Unversal, R,L,C,LED (factory settng) - Automatc calbraton to the load, dmmng prncple, tralng edge phase control, leadng edge phase control or LED leadng edge phase control - Incandescent lamps, HV halogen lamps, dmmable HV-LED or compact fluorescent lamps, dmmable electronc or nductve transformers for halogen or LED lamps. Operatng mode: LED tralng edge phase control, { The connecton of nductve transformers s not permtted. - Incandescent lamps, HV halogen lamps, electronc transformers for halogen or LED lamps that can be dmmed accordng to the tralng edge phase control prncple, HV-LED or compact fluorescent lamps that can be dmmed accordng to the tralng edge phase control prncple. Operatng mode: LED leadng edge phase control, The connecton of nductve transformers s not permtted. - Incandescent lamps, HV halogen lamps, electronc transformers for halogen or LED lamps that can be dmmed accordng to the leadng edge phase control prncple, HV-LED or compact fluorescent lamps that can be dmmed accordng to the leadng edge phase control prncple. Settng operatng mode and mnmum brghtness Precondton: Load s swtched off. o Press the button Dmm-Mode (1) untl LED (2) lghts up. 4/7

The LED (2) lghts up n the colour of the selected operatng mode(fgure 3). o Press the button Dmm-Mode (1) for longer than 1 second and keep t pressed. LED (2) flashes. Lght swtches on at the lowest brghtness and slowly becomes brghter. When changng the operatng mode to unversal, the calbraton to the load s frst performed. Keep the Dmm-Mode button (1) pressed. In the lowest dmmng poston, a lamp lght must be vsble. o Once the desred mnmum brghtness s reached, release the button Dmm-Mode (1). LED (2) lghts up, operatng mode and mnmum brghtness are set. o Optonally change the mnmum brghtness agan: Press the button Dmm-Mode (1) for longer than 1 second. Lght swtches agan to the lowest brghtness and slowly becomes brghter. o Save the settngs: Press the button Dmm-Mode (1) for less than 1 second or do not press for 30 seconds. Increase mnmum brghtness. Connected lamps do not swtch on n the lowest dmmng poston or only after a delay Cause: The set mnmum brghtness s too low. Increase mnmum brghtness. Connected LED lamps or compact fluorescent lamps flcker or buzz, no correct dmmng possble, devce buzzes Cause 1: Lamps are not dmmable. Check manufacturer's nstructons. Exchange lamps for another type. Cause 2: Operatng mode (dmmng prncple) and lamps do not optmally match. Check operaton n another operatng mode, reduce connected load as well f necessary. Set the operatng mode manually. Exchange lamps for another type. Cause 3: Dmmer s connected wthout neutral conductor. Connect neutral conductor f possble, otherwse exchange lamp for another type. Connected LED lamps or compact fluorescent lamps n the lowest dmmng poston are too brght; dmmng range s too small Cause 1: The set mnmum brghtness s too hgh. Reduce mnmum brghtness. 6/7

7 Cause 2: Operatng mode (dmmng prncple) does not optmally match the connected HV-LED lamps. Check operaton n another operatng mode, reduce connected load as well f necessary. Set the operatng mode manually. Exchange HV-LED lamps for another type. The dmmer swtches the load off brefly and then on agan. Cause: short-crcut protecton has trpped but now there s no longer a fault. The dmmer has swtched off and the load cannot be swtched on agan Cause 1: overheatng protecton has trpped. Dsconnect dmmer from mans by swtchng off crcut breaker. LED tralng edge phase control: Reduce the connected load. Exchange lamps for another type. LED leadng edge phase control: Reduce the connected load. Check operaton n the LED tralng edge phase control settng. Exchange lamps for another type. Let dmmer cool down for at least 15 mnutes. Swtch crcut breakers and dmmer on agan. Cause 2: Surge protecton has trggered. LED tralng edge phase control: Check operaton n the LED leadng edge phase control settng, reduce connected load as well f necessary. Exchange lamps for another type. Cause 3: short-crcut protecton has trpped. Dsconnect dmmer from mans by swtchng off crcut breaker. Elmnate short-crcut. Swtch crcut breakers and dmmer on agan. Short-crcut protecton s not based on a conventonal fuse, no metallc separaton of the operatonal current. Cause 4: load falure. Check load, replace lght bulb. For nductve transformers, check prmary fuse. LED lamp s dmly lt when dmmer s swtched off Cause: LED lamp s not sutable for ths dmmer. Use another type of LED lamp or an LED lamp of another manufacturer. 5.3 Warranty The warranty follows about the specalty store n between the legal framework as provded for by law.
